Update: 07:50 Voting is now closed and any new tweets will not be counted. Final Results will be posted shortly.
Update: 14:00 We currently have 510 (ish) votes for Lie To Me to remove.
Update: 12:30 As a reminder to those of you who are cheating the system Rule 8 states
"You must only tweet exactly what is generated by the Button, Adding extra text or changing it will discount your Tweet when we do the final count. "
A few days ago we started our search for which shows would appear on a new SpoilerTV Banner that we're designing. You can read about it and the rules here.
The first show that has won a place onto the banner is Supernatural. You can see the results at the time I took the reading below.

Today it's the turn of 8 FOX Shows. Only 1 can win a place onto the banner.
So get Tweeting!

It would be pretty fabulous if Lie To Me pulled this out.
ReplyDeleteYou know... it's kinda unfair to let a new show compete against shows like Fringe, TVD, et all.
ReplyDeleteoh yeah!!! first person to tweet for family guy :D
ReplyDeleteits the show there that i watch the most
don't think anyone was surprised at supernatural winning :D
best show ever!!!
Putting in my vote for my newest TV hobby, 'Fringe'. Sorry 'Bones'!
ReplyDeleteYay Supernatural!!! :-D
ReplyDeleteFinally somewhere I can vote for Fringe WITHOUT voting against Supernatural! Go FRINGE!!!
(I've been watching Fringe longer, but Supernatural is just the best... I hate having to choose!)
Of course Fringe should be the choice. If for no other reason they have some awesome promo pictures to use for a banner! Plus best show on the network and all that....
ReplyDeleteOn an unrelated note... HOLY CRAP.... that ad link is a picture of Dakota Fanning? I guess she lost that little goofy girl look for good. She will always be Allie from Steven Spielberg Presents: TAKEN, but good for her!
ReplyDeleteI'm for Fringe! :)
ReplyDeleteWhen will be Supernatural On the banner?
ReplyDeleteThis doesn't seem at all accurate at the moment, I hope it's just a temporary issue.
ReplyDeleteI would to see House, with a better picture than last time but I can't tweet.
ReplyDeleteWhy not? Do you get an error?
ReplyDelete#save LieToMe come on, hooligans!!!
ReplyDeleteGO FRINGE :)
ReplyDeleteFringe, of course.
ReplyDeleteWhen will we get a chance to vote White Collar for our beloved banner? :D
I voted while Lie to me was at 27, turning it to 28. Then I logged off twitter for my friend to vote, and when she came on it said 27 again. She voted to make it 28. We then got someone else to log on and it said 27 again. What's going on please??
ReplyDeleteOh sorry, just read the comment about updating the cache... it's accurate again now. Sorry, I'll get back in my box now!!...
ReplyDeleteOh, and GO HOOLIGANS!!!!! WE CAN DO IT!!!
I was only concerned since it did show me a number for a while and then went back to zero.
ReplyDeleteGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOLIGANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =))))))))))))))))))))))))
ReplyDeleteGo, Go Power Rangers... I mean Hooligans :P
ReplyDeleteLie To Me <3
Hooligans, keep on tweeting!!! =)
ReplyDeleteHahaha. There's like two Lie To Me fans taking this Very Seriously. Just looked at the Search and theres literally about 150 in the last ten mins from two people.
ReplyDeleteFunny stuff...
Haha nice catch. I was wondering why it was going up so fast.
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm cool with Lie to Me on the banner so long as Fringe is the show that actually comes back for another season. There can only be one... :P
Bones, please!
ReplyDeleteWhat the hell Lie To Me. Cheats! Not cool people!
ReplyDelete1 or 2 of the same people are re-tweeting Lie to Me hundreds of times, I hope those people only get their tweets counted once.
ReplyDeletedear haters, this is just one more proof that hooligans love Lie To Me show! no matter how many people love... they just seriously love and want to keep the show from cancellation!!! by any way!!!!
ReplyDeleteLie to Me only has 236 followers on SpoilerTV's twitter account. And 430 votes? Hmmm.....
ReplyDelete4 People have about 300-400 tweets together. We're onto them :P
ReplyDeletego hooligans!
ReplyDeleteI think any perceived 'cheating' came as a result of some of us not reading the rules... Oops.
ReplyDeleteNot a hater myself, but how lame is cheating in a poll. To quote the immortal GOB Bluth... "C'Mon!"
ReplyDeleteFirst, voting via tweets is unfair. Some people aren't self-involved enough to have a twitter; how are they supposed to vote? Second, a couple of these shows will probably be canceled; will there be another vote to fill the void then?
ReplyDeleteMe and my friend just support Human Target but no tweet was count.. where is the problem?
ReplyDeleteWow I was going to tweet Lie To Me for sure, but as it already has so many votes (yay!) I will tweet Human Target, as it is one of my favourite shows! :D :D :D :D :D I LOVE these kinds of Polls! :D Thank you!
ReplyDeleteWill you ever make some kind of competition where the users could make a banner themselves, and then you'll choose the best one? I think that would be fun too! :D
What do you mean Self-Involved? Most people nowadays use Twitter for finding out about various things!
ReplyDeleteAnd we do Competitions in many different way, this one is a Twitter based one :)
And we want to update the Banner every 6 months or so. That's our plan!
ah i was wondering why lie to me was so far ahead. not saying it should be low, but it definitely shouldnt be over 4 times the next highest. not really fair. voting for Fringe myself anyway.
ReplyDeleteDoes this mean that the Fringe duplicates will also be removed?
ReplyDeleteUpdate: 14:00 We currently have 510 (ish) votes for Lie To Me to remove.
ReplyDeleteTaken from: SpoilerTV http://www.spoilertv.com/2011/02/get-your-show-on-spoilertv-banner-cw_16.html#ixzz1E8MSo16C
WTF???
So it's allowed to vote more than once on a day? ;)
ReplyDeleteBut it looks as though Lie to me will very likely be cancelled....I dont have twitter.
ReplyDeleteMy vote is Fringe.
Bones all the way!!!<33
ReplyDeleteBONES!!!! leh do eh!
ReplyDeletei tweeted for bones but it didnt show up in my twiiter feed, should i tweet again? i just dont want my vote to not count lol
ReplyDeletei support Lie to ME!!
ReplyDeleteSo, how much is twitter paying you...
ReplyDeleteJust interesting that you'd create a solely twitter-based competition, when it's exclusionary and doesn't even preclude cheating.
ReplyDeleteFringe!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's easy, Fringe of course.
ReplyDeleteThe two shows would look great together on the banner! :D
ReplyDeleteCongrats, I'm sure Family guy will win! ;D
ReplyDeleteAre the Supernatural votes accurate though?
ReplyDeleteeven if FOX isn't going to count our voises we wanna show how much we love the show...we just trying to draw FOX attention and say how much we love Lie To ME...ask for the 4th season and hope our voices will be heard...!!!
ReplyDeleteLie to Me FTW!!!
ReplyDeleteFOX must see how much we love Lie To Me we even ready to break the rules in order to save the show ... what else can we do???? .. what would you do to save your favorite show???? yup, it's dishonest, but come on, FOX is very dishonest with us too!!! How may they even think about cancelling our favourite show??!!
ReplyDeleteand you discuss our acts so it means you discuss Lie To Me too ;)
you ask why we are breaking the rules??? cause we are HOOLIGANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =)))))))))))))))))))
ReplyDeleteI don't Tweet my life like some people do. But I did sign up for contests like this and it took my maybe 57 seconds. That includes refilling a mug of coffee at 4am too.
ReplyDeleteGo Fringe!
ReplyDeleteAnd I knew the Lie To Me votes looked too scary to be true. It will be interesting to see what all the acutal numbers are, after all the cheating votes are discounted.
You create such a bad image of Hooligans... Lie to Me true fans wouldn't cheat. The ones that cheated are a shame for this fandom.
ReplyDeleteI just got a twitter account for this banner poll stuff. Just because you get a Twitter account, doesn't mean you have to be one of those people who tweet stuff like, "I'm taking a crap now."
ReplyDelete30 seconds? I spent an hour trying to find a unique name that hasn't already been taken!
ReplyDeleteAre there any votes from other shows that would be removed too? If so, please tell.
ReplyDeleteI do not watch fringe. But fringe fans are cool, so I will vote for fringe.
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteCan you not take the duplicate votes off now? this will give a clearer true status. People will probably not read all the comments below til after they've voted, and the false numbers may affect their voting decision.
Thanks
That assumes that the 'cheating' was intentional, and not just as a result of someone not reading the rules :)
ReplyDeleteIn the past the 'exact tweet only' rule has not been around.
FRINGE gets my vote!
ReplyDeleteYou're cool for saying we're cool!
ReplyDelete"After-school Special" feeling
Who are you, be my friend? :)
ReplyDeleteFringe course !
ReplyDeleteSo, if I understand this correctly, when the bogus tweets are removed, 'Fringe' is in the lead?
ReplyDeleteFringe will always have our vote.
ReplyDeleteYes. :)
ReplyDeleteI vote Fringe
ReplyDeleteAwesomeness, follow me on twitter, we can talk more!!! @FringeInsider
ReplyDelete- thanks SpoilerTV, look, bringing people all over the world together ;)
Pidgeon666 is now following you on twitter. :)
ReplyDeleteIt would be Fabulous if we could vote for Smallville! I am NOT voting!
ReplyDeletelololol you're removing Lie to Me votes. hokay. Are you removing Fringe votes, too? Because I've seen a hell of a lot of Fringe spam on twitter, too.
ReplyDeleteI use twitter to talk to other Fringe fans, get current information, and leave small messages for real life friends. It is a quick and handy information tool.
ReplyDeleteJust because SpoilerTV's LTM account only has 236 followers doesn't mean the ENTIRE fandom follows that account! There are legions of us who get the word out in an efficient manner.
ReplyDeleteLie to Me? Are you serious?
ReplyDeleteI didn't know about it and since I always add something when I tweet my vote didn't count. Simply me not following directions.
ReplyDeleteThat was the last Twitter poll that ended yesterday. They are doing ti be network so there is still ABC, CBS, and NBC after this one.
ReplyDeleteQuestion- not trying to stir the pot, but I've seen a heap fringe duplicate tweets/spam.. are any of those votes going to be removed?
ReplyDeleteI dont really think the LTM supporters are cheating.....they probably just didnt read the rules, carefully...People do things out of some certain excuses, dont comment on the things you dont really know about..
ReplyDeletesorry i should of phrased that a little better.i was talking more along the lines of spamming within a few mins from the same acc.. obviously twitter doesn't allow the same thing sent twice unless altered somehow.
ReplyDeleteI just think its a little unfair that you guys name the Lie to Me fans and not anyone else.
Thats just my two cents...
Love the comp idea and awesome site.
Thanks again
Just wondering how long the voting is open for...
ReplyDeleteWow, you're busy replying around the clock! I appreciate it :)
ReplyDeletePresumably that means voting will close sometime before to allow you to count votes?
Brilliant! Thank you :)
ReplyDeleteI have a question.. Dos an other show have had as much as vote than LieToMe* in the past ? I mean. 1000 tweet that's just awesome. Maybe we should send the snapshot to Fox and Reilly...
ReplyDeleteNo, but it was just 4 people cheating the system and adding over 500+ votes to the LTM total.
ReplyDeleteWell if you don't read the rules, it's still cheating :)
ReplyDeleteIf an Athlete took drugs but then claimed to not have read the rules, would that still not be cheating?
So you love SPN and you don't watch Fringe, but still vote for us because WE are cool. LOVE! I mean really. haha, I wish more peeps of the SPN Fandom would be so awesome. ;)
ReplyDeleteSomething smells fishy. I don't recall ever seeing an exceptional amount of people involved with LTM...and I would also expect more votes for glee...I don't watch it but it seems most people do...
ReplyDeleteHmmm...
wow lie to me !!! lol , that give me a chuckle...cant see why it should be higher then bones tho.. anyways why do ppl vote for shows that are either gonna be cancelled or ended.. i mean by december if fringe is still on the banner and had been cancelled like 7 months back - wouldnt that be silly and lose the purpose of spoiler tv ...hmmmm? realistically only bones, house and glee should be considered for the banner, no one cares about simpsons anymore,
ReplyDeletePeople seriously need to read the rules, people are still adding stuff onto the end of the tweet to artificially boost the score. Lie To Me should just be disqualified.
ReplyDeleteSend us the Twitter Account names and we can take a look :)
ReplyDeleteLie to me! Lie to me! Lie to me! Lie to me! Lie to me! Lie to me! Lie to me! Lie to me! Is THE BEST FANDOM EVER! Nothing else really stands a chance and that's why we deserve a 4th season!
ReplyDelete500+ votes ? Hm. Well, it seems like Fringe is the big winner after all :'(
ReplyDeletecan we have the real totals?
ReplyDeleteI hope LTM can still win after all the duplicate votes are removed. :) It's a shame that's happening. :( Gives a bad name to the Hooligans.
ReplyDeletei passed my vote for bones but it looks like it wont be bones :(
ReplyDeleteoh well if my favourite show isnt on the banner, id still check out this website each day cos i love spoiler tv and darkufo knows how to rumble the business into a real easy to read-2-read quality website :D
I'm confused as to why that's the case. We had the CW vote a few days ago. This is the Fox vote. Smallville is not included because Smallville is not on that network...
ReplyDeletethat was actually my second choice! lol
ReplyDeleteFringe fan? Consider yourself followed!
ReplyDeleteThe big Lie to Me offenders removed their 'naughty' votes out of respect for the rules. Obviously this doesn't affect the total on your site, so how will the counting work? If you take the actual tweets and discount the 519 that (quite rightly) shouldn't be counted, won't that bring Lie to Me down to 0 rather than 600-ish? I'm just curious how this is going to work.
ReplyDeleteI posted that without even reading any of the comments.
ReplyDeleteWoops. lol
You're so virtuous/objective. I really appreciate that in an admin of a website, you know?
ReplyDeleteI'm sensing something...oh wait! It's a flashback: a method commonly used to show something that happened in an attempt to mirror something that is currently happening! This is a useful, if overused, method television shows employ all the time! Why am I babbling? Let me get on with the flashback!... Ok, I see vampires and Superman...and crying fans over a great atrocity... OH WAIT! I see TVD vs SV in the Best Show Ever '10 competition!
ReplyDelete:P
Who knew there was a large Lie to Me site? Not to mention MULTIPLE sites!
ReplyDeleteTHIS.
ReplyDeletehaha. Weird how some shows just seem to crawl out of the woodwork, stick Tim Roth's face on our SpoilerTV banner (maybe) then never return. hahaha
ReplyDeleteFRINGE !!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletewhat??? Lie to me is wayyyy in the lead this is weird ahha. I love the show dont get me wrong I'm just shocked
ReplyDeleteSAFE LIE TO ME
ReplyDeleteTIM ROTH IS THE BEST!!!!!
hey sorry bother you again,I was just wondering if voting had ended ? or do we still have time?
ReplyDeleteDifficult to tell sarcasm via text, sorry!
ReplyDeletewhen the USA Network Edition begins, I guess.
ReplyDeletethanks. so i'm guessing mid to late next week then?
ReplyDeleteahhh, woo, goodluck!
ReplyDeleteHa thanks, we try our best to be :)
ReplyDeleteWe'll work out all the totals of the offending tweets when we do the
ReplyDeleteresults tomorrow.
Ha, thanks Paul :)
ReplyDeleteNo, because that would be unfair to the legitimate voters.
ReplyDeleteAs I've said several times, the totals will be adjusted to remove the
illegal votes.
A couple of large Lie to Me fan sites have had a call to arms of their
ReplyDeletereaders :) They seem pretty dedicated. But remember we have to take
over 500+ votes off their final total.
No problem :)
ReplyDeleteWe can't actually "close" the polls but what I do is take a snapshot
ReplyDeletewhen I'm ready to start and then remove any discounted numbers from
the totals.
We'll announce the winner tomorrow morning UK time and post the CBS one.
ReplyDeleteThanks Becky,
ReplyDeleteYep, any one who tweets out an altered Tweet from the original button
will not have their count voted. We mentioned LTM as over 99% of the
altered tweets came from the LTM tweets, we of course will remove any
altered tweets from ALL the shows when we come to announce the
results.
Duplicate votes are allowed as long as the rules are followed
ReplyDeleteYep, after CBS we have NBC, ABC, USA and Other still to do.
ReplyDeleteHa, no worries :)
ReplyDeleteNothing, why?
ReplyDeleteDid you refresh your Twitter Page? It should show up there almost
ReplyDeleteimmediately. If not try again.
The show with the most legitimate votes, regardless of cancellation
ReplyDeletewill appear on the site banner.
Twitter is free and takes 30 seconds to create an account :)
Yep, absolutely. You just have to ensure that you follow the posting rules.
ReplyDeleteAll votes that violate the rules will be removed
ReplyDeleteHa lol. Very lame, but I guess they are just very passionate about their show :)
ReplyDeleteNo, I'm afraid not. I have no control over the twitter counts on the
ReplyDeletebuttons, I'll have to do them all by hand when we announce the results
tomorrow.
It's actually pretty close :)
ReplyDeleteYes, we know, people are allowed to tweet out more than once. You can
ReplyDeletenormally send the same tweet out every 3 hrs but people are abusing
the system.
But don't worry we know who they are and all their tweets will be
discounted when we do final totals.
Unfortunately over 260+ tweets from these people won't count currently
ReplyDeleteas they are abusing the system and breaking Rule 8.
No, we have no control over Twitter I'm afraid.
ReplyDeleteProbably but not many currently. I'll go through them when we post the results.
ReplyDeleteha lol.
ReplyDeleteTry this
eri$!PDj@dmNY9h6hE3&TDs5
:)
Exactly.
ReplyDeleteA lot of people simply use it to follow other people and never
actually tweet anything themselves.
Take 519 votes off LTM currently :)
ReplyDeleteYep
ReplyDeleteOk, 2 Points
ReplyDeleteIt's not exclusionary as anyone can create a free twitter account.
And it does prevent cheating, much better than any other system as
we're able to see who is cheating and can rectify the results, unlike
a poll which people can use proxy servers to repeat vote and we would
not know about it.
Yep, it seems to do that to indicate that your Tweet has been registered :)
ReplyDeleteAs mentioned in the first post about the competition, the tweet counts
ReplyDeletedo not update immediately. For performance reasons, Twitter caches
them. They normally update about 10-20 mins after a tweet has been
posted.
As per the Original Post which is linked in the above post, we will do
ReplyDeleteall the network polls. Once we have a winner from each network our
graphics guy can then start work on the banner.
Well, that's the only way we can do it. There is only so much space on
ReplyDeletethe banner I'm afraid.
Hey, sorry to bug you. Has the winner been announced? (sorry if it has)
ReplyDeleteYep, it was fringe. It's in the cbs post
ReplyDelete
