My guess is that the pregnancy is sped up. 'The Same Old Story' suddenly sees an importance. Maybe Dr. Claus Penrose is from over there... would explain why we haven't seen him in so long! haha
but in "the same old story" the "baby" died right after he was born because it wasn't exactly the pregnancy they had accelerated, but actually the person's growth... i don't see that happening to altlivia's baby...
You may be right. I think they referenced Penrose in early season 2 as well, somewhere in relation to the Carson experiment. It seems interesting that they would bring him up again.
Was "The Same Old Story" not also referenced by Olivia in "Abducted" when she mentioned to Lincoln that she had worked on a previous case involving the removal of the pituitary gland? Of course, at that point, she couldn't say exactly which case it was without drawing suspicion to herself.
I'm really hoping that they don't try pulling some Penrose, speeding up the pregnancy thing with us. I didn't work well then, both died and was totally different then the situation with FeuxLiv. If anything I think Walternate might find a way possibly to speed up the method but even that idk. Tv has its ways of making time elaps faster, I think they can do it smoothly. All they realy hae to do is have us check in on her every once in a while and see her bump growing and then do a 6 months later epi where she's giving birth. We'll see.
If they skip ahead in time then Olivia and Peter's relationship will have also skipped ahead 8 months so who knows what state they will be in (presumably settled down to make the baby news really knife turning)
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
This is definitely too quick without a time jump or unnatural acceleration. I do wonder which. I hate time jumps, though.

ReplyDeleteYeah, but the experiment in general could be changed to speed up pregnancy.
ReplyDeleteThis is Fringe afterall, and I'm sure we won't be seeing a big time jump, they never are that successful.

ReplyDeleteI think the knife's already in her back and its been in there for a while now they're just turning it.
