Yay, awesome, I loved the first season, which actually covers only the pilot of Pucks, there's much more to tell. And the end of the 7th episode promises a great 2nd season, there will be tensions. Episodes is probably the best new comedy of the season with The Big C, Raising Hope, Call Me Fitz and Outsourced.
its probably my favourite new comedy this season too not that many good ones this year, only ones i watched every episode of were Episodes and Mike and Molly. The Big C and Call Me Fitz had me for a few episodes then i stopped watching
Oh, this is great news! First I didn't like it very much but I know that new shows need a chance to find their rhythm so I tried some more. And I'm so happy it found it, congrats!
the BBC it has also been reported on several British tabloids including the sun http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/tv/3434518/Matt-LeBlanc-returns-for-second-series-of-episodes.html
Don't get me wrong I'm a huge fan of Episodes but why?!?!? It's showtime ratings have been atrocious averaging .5 million viewers. The BBC2 ones (on the 3/4th biggest channel) have been averaging 1.31 million. This may not sound too bad but consider: 1. This, I believe, made it the 6th least successful show in it's timeslot after Silent Witness\Outcasts [now almost certainly cancelled], The Biggest Loser, One Born Every Minute, Five's Monday Night Movie\Royal Navy Caribbean Patrol and Glee. 2. After the premier didn't make it into the top 30 channel broadcasts for the week [including being regularly beaten by Saturday night sitcom repeats] 3. This is below most of the other BBC2 Sitcoms: Miranda: 3.56 Vexed: 2.19 Rab C. Nesbitt: 2.03 Whites: 1.71 Rev.: 1.63 The only one I am aware of that it beat was Grandma's house that achieved 1.12, which was also renewed. But this a) costs almost nothing to make, b) aired over the summer, c) has almost no one famous in it [the main star\writer is a tv presenter who used to be on nickelodeon] and d) might help fufill their minority remit.
4. The show was very heavily promoted and the leads are all household names.
I'm not complaining I'm just curious what made Showtime\BBC think they should give it another season. Were just the overseas sales alone enough?
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
awesome!
ReplyDeleteShameless? Really hope that gets renewed :D
ReplyDeleteEpisodes is an international co-production and news of its renewal came from the BBC not showtime so this doesnt mean anything for Shameless
ReplyDeleteand shamless seemed to be doing really well in the ratings so should be renewed
ReplyDeleteYAY! XD XD
ReplyDeleteAhh okay, well hopefully Shameless will in the future :)

ReplyDeleteThe Big C is way better in my opinion. But its not really a strict comedy? So yeah

I meant "6th most successful show in it's timeslot" not "6th least successful show in it's timeslot"
ReplyDeletei guess international sales were a huge factor + its showtime ratings however bad were close to californication which is renewed
ReplyDeleteI guess international sales was a factor. It has been sold in 186 countries http://www.spoilertv.com/2011/02/episodes-sold-to-186-countries.html
ReplyDeleteSo glad, I know it doesn't have a big fanbase but I really enjoyed S1.
