Supernatural - Weekly Poll - Favorite Human (not Dean, Sam, or Bobby)

Weekly Poll - Favorite Human (except Dean, Sam, and Bobby)

Today's poll has the most choices. Will that mean the vote will be closer than the last two? This poll will be hard for me because it contains some of my favorite people in Supernatural. It also contains some of my least favorite, so I can narrow it down pretty quickly. So who gets your vote - a pivotal recurring character, that one-shot you just can't forget, the character that never really got the time you thought they deserved? Vote for your favorite and comment below because comments are the Rice Krispy treats of life.

  1. That's creepy, I was the first to vote so it was 100% Lisa. Tough call though cause I love John and Henrikson too, and I'm one of the few who liked Bela.

  2. While I know that Dean, Sam, and Bobby are people's favorite humans, in the effort to avoid a fandom war, they are excluded. Besides it allows us to show some love to all the other great human characters out there.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Henrikson is tied for first now.

    ReplyDelete
  4. By far the most difficult choice...
    I have a confession to make.When we were nominating,I completely forgot John.I can't believe I did that...
It's impossible to choose..There's John,Ellen,Chuck,Ash,Jo,Pamela,Rufus,Mary,Henriksen..I love them all!
Okay, just because I'm forced to choose,I'll go with Ellen. That woman is a legend!

  5. OFF TOPIC - OK my super smart Supernatural buddies I have a Twitter newbie question. If I am following Jim Beaver does that mean that he sees every freaking thing I post on Twitter or do only the people following you see what you are tweeting. Cause it could get embarrassing if I'm describing how awesome he is...or say excluding his character from a poll...if he sees everything. Although I guess to answer my own question, it has to be no or else how would celebrities ever have time to go through their Twitter. I can barely keep up with the SpoilerTV tweets. I'm feeling technologically stupid today. Maybe I should tweet that.

  6. I voted for Ellen. It's rare for this show to have strong (or even tolerable) female characters, let alone one as awesome as Ellen was. Plus, I may have shed a tear or two when she died.
Nobody could put Dean in his place like Ellen! Well, maybe Death.

    (Runners up: Rufus and Ash)

  7. No, you will see everything that HE writes, but he will only see your tweets if he a)goes to your page specifically or b)starts following you..

  8. So. Easy to narrow this one down, not so easy to pick a final choice.

    Ellen - because:
She was a strong, kick-ass 'don't mess with me' woman, (whom Dean was somewhat scared of), who made the choice to die with her daughter.

    Gordon - because:
He was an awesome, relentless, albeit flawed, hunter who really gave the boys a run for their money.

    Lisa - because:
She is a strong, honest 'don't mess with me' woman, (whom Dean is not scared of) who was prepared to allow Dean to be who he is. She made the choice to protect her son rather than being with Dean...awesome woman.....

    Victor - because:
He was relentless in his pursuit of the boys. He accepted that he was wrong about them. He adapted quickly, and he would have made a great hunter if not for that nasty little Lilith brat.....

I'm liking Lisa and Ellen more and more for this......

  9. It is impossible to just choose one. Now if it was a poll on who do you hate the most it would be a no brainer since that would be Bela.

    ReplyDelete
  10. agreed
very easy to narrow down but hard to choose one person
    my current options are

    ellen
    ash
    bela
    henrickson

not sure who i'll further it down to though

    ReplyDelete
  11. Mine would be very easy too - John Winchester.

    ReplyDelete
  12. No, Missouri Mosley. I hate that woman.

    ReplyDelete
  13. My favorites are Ellen, Jo, Ash, Pamela and John.

I think I'm going to vote for Ash. I like geeks.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Agreed. Missouri Mosley and Becky fall minutely behind John Winchester but only because he has been a bane of my existence for longer. For pure annoyance per second on screen, I'd have to say Missouri and Becky tie. For people I'd rather drink bleach than see again, Missouri and Becky tie. Only because I am fine with pre-hunt John so he can come back whenever he wants. Although I guess his was a jerk too part of the time.

    ReplyDelete
  15. It was a toss up for me between Ash and John. Of course John had so much potential for story line but Ash's character was great! Loved Andy too! ugh and I miss Ellen and Jo! boo hoo!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Okay, we could only choose one. But my favorites (in no certain order) are John, Ellen, Jo, Ash, and Pamela.

    ReplyDelete
  17. A toughy but I went Mary. Though Ellen, Missouri, and Rufus were high up there too. But in the end Mary because she was a kick butt hunter, mother, heavenly pawn, and avenging spirit.

    ReplyDelete
  18. narrowed it down to ash and ellen
they were both just awesome charatcers and i was happy whenever they were on screen
ash was hilarious and every scene he was in he dominated. i was so upset when he died andwhen the boys met him in heaven and he helped them out it was awesome!!
ellen was just kick-ass. she was sooo awesome. she was like a mother to the boys and again i was so happy in season 5 when they returned, sadly to be killed like 6 episodes later or something. hers and jo's death scene is one of the saddest things i have ever seen on tv
so, thats where i'm at. ash or ellen.
    any suggestions?

    ReplyDelete
  19. hmmmmm......both choices are great. At least we know Ash is happy in heaven, listening in on the angel gossip. We can only assume poor Ellen is there somewhere too....hopefully at Ash's Roadhouse, along with Jo.....
Personally I'd go with Ellen out of these two.....because Ellen even made Ash 'fold like a cheap suit'....

    ReplyDelete
  20. i always assumed she and jo went to heaven. i loved how ash was "cool with it" about dean and sam getting him killed. makes me laugh
i was gonna go with ellen, but then i remembered that time when sam and dean were asking him for help and he was like "well, guess i'll have to put on some pants!"
he had some great lines and i love characters that can make me laugh.

  21. Big Daddy John Winchester gets my vote! Be sure to check out the trailer for JDM's new movie with Hilary Swank http://www.movies.spoilertv.com/2011/01/resident-trailer-and-poster.html

  22. Hi All *waves*

JOHN was their DAD and even if the some fans couldn't stand him, like me at times......Sam/Dean loved him, but i can't pick him, cause he messed them up so much and it's so SAD to see how truly messed up they really are......and he played a humongous part in that :((

This is tough....but.....i'm gonna go with MARY cause....well......she started it all, and even now she still affects her sons deeply especially Dean :((

She saved them in season 1, and sacrificed herself again for them....When they met her when she was younger....She was kickass and i loved her, and am so hoping she pops up again for a bit :))

But def special mention to ELLEN....cause it's ELLEN and shes right next to MARY when it comes to being kickass, and she was there for the boys in a motherly way which i loved <33

Yeah so i choose Mary....but i wish CHUCK didn't turn out to be GOD......cause i would of picked him too.....He was funny and adorable/sad and i loved his episodes <33

  23. So I decided to try something new this time instead of a why it is hard to choose post. Read at your own risk because this is a no-holds barred diatribe in some parts. Um, and really not tactful.

People I'm NOT Voting For - Part 1

Chuck - I know this comes as a shock but I hate meta episodes. The Monster at the End of This Book is in my top 10 all time worst episodes of Supernatural, possibly of TV. I blame Chuck for this. And Kripke, and the writers, and the fans. For now on, the Supernatural books are canon and I hate that. They're like time bombs waiting to explode my happy SPN world into a freaking meta fan fest. URGH!!!
Ed Zeddmore - I didn't like Hell House in large part because Harry and Ed were so irksome (lame story line didn't help either), so I truly hated them when they subjected me to Ghostfacers, the absolutely worst timed episode of all. I don't find them funny at all and am happy to leave them to the webisodes that I have no intention of watching.
    Harry Spangler - see above

John Winchester - In all honesty, I don't understand how people like John. I definitely understand liking Jeffrey Dean Morgan, but John not so much. John was a neglectful parent who regularly put his children in harm's way. I know people say he redeemed himself by sacrificing himself for Dean. I say NO WAY! What parent would not make that choice in the end. Parenting is based on the everyday, not one single decision made way, way too late. For starters, John left his kids alone in a hotel room for who knows how many days when he knew that a monster with a preference for young siblings was on the loose. Why? Either he was a bad hunter (not in evidence in the series) or he was so obsessed with the hunt that he didn't care that his children were targets or he used his own children as bait. Then, when he screwed up, he blamed his no more than 10 year old son. Who does that? Why didn't he leave them with Pastor Jim in the first place? Skip 15 years ahead and he refuses to answer his sons' phone calls on a regular basis - bad enough. Then his youngest son calls to tell him that his oldest son is dying and that #%#&#& doesn't even call him back. One kid's dying; the other kid's falling apart - nothing ever excuses this. Then while yelling at his sons for not calling him, he doesn't even have the decency to give a reason for why he didn't call when Dean confronts him. I hate this character! At this point he was irredeemable to me. However, with almost his dying breath, he tells Dean, who he made guardian and parent to Sam with his asinine ways, that he would have to kill Sam. Are you kidding me? There has never been a character I have been more ready to see die on this show. Not Zachariah, not Ruby. I hate John!

Missouri Mosley - There are no words to describe how much I loathe this character, although I think Loretta Devine is an awesome actor. Every time Missouri opened her mouth I wanted to smack her. She's the one-shot PiP who I most wanted to get shot. Home would not be in my top half of Supernatural episodes any way, but she cemented it's top 15 most hated spot for me. I hate Missouri almost as much as I hate John.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I absolutely agree 100% about John......couldn't have said it better

    ReplyDelete
  25. loved what you said about missouri
i thought i was the only one who hated her

    ReplyDelete
  26. "Boy, you put your foot on my coffee table I'm gonna whack you with a spoon."
"You boys grew up handsome, and you were one goofy lookin' kid."
Still not doing it for you?
Actually, in all honesty I wasn't a huge fan either (I didn't hate her, but I didn't find her particularly memorable). In fact, I never really understood the love for "Home".

I'm shocked that you didn't like the Monster at the End of this Book, though! I thought it was brillant. To each her own I guess. :)

    ReplyDelete
  27. Lol. If you mean making me want to smack someone, then yes, it's doing it for me. :-P

    ReplyDelete
  28. John Winchester is almost unfair to the others. I would have voted for Andy Gallagher or Lisa Braeden if you hadn't place John in there.

    ReplyDelete
  29. We need more love for Ellen. :)
Honorable mentions: Gordon Walker (scariest thing/character on the show by far in my opinion...) Pamela Barnes, RUFUS is hilarious and intense at the same time! And where the f-word is Ava!? She was a great character through season 2, and the twist with her character was great! I also was sad to see Andy get killed. :( ...And while certain people seem to bitch that Missouri was too mean to Dean (c'mon...really?...) I thought she was hysterical and appropriate...and Lisa Braeden is just the cherry on top :)

    ReplyDelete
  30. I don't spend a whole lot of time on twitter, but I think you either have to mention him or he has to be following you to see your little tweets.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Blah blah blah. Missouri ain't got nothin' on Becky.

    ReplyDelete
  32. You're right. There was those 3 seconds that Becky told them about the Colt when I didn't absolutely despise her.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Well I've decided to vote for Ellen....
There are very few people who can put Dean in his place......among other things she turned the radio off in HIS car! Nobody messes with the Impala!
And courageous.....and.....boy I would hate to get on the wrong side of her....
I was stunned when they killed her off....I guess I expected her to just keep popping up every now and then ....like a female (and much better looking) version of Bobby......maybe that's why they killed her off?
    So....yeah....
I will always appreciate what Lisa did, taking Dean in and looking after him, she's great, but Ellen was the best.

    ReplyDelete
  34. yeah, this show really does not like keeping female charcters around!!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I wanted to 'like' this but once again the button will not work >:(
    So consider yourself 'liked'.

    ReplyDelete
  36. If you tweeted that, it would be a lot more interesting than 95% of the other pointless meanderings that most people put out there.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Posted this in another thread, but then realized it might get buried. Here are some pictures that Jim Beaver took. Includes Rufus (who he hints Bobby is working with again), Jared, and Jensen. Sets too?

  38. JOHN WINCHESTER!!!
    Always and for ever!!!
I didn't even check the other options!!!

    ReplyDelete
  39. I think you're being too hard on John. Let's not forget that he had nothing to do with hunting and he saw his wife getting all burned... on the ceiling...!
He could have turned to be like Max's father. Instead he chose to fight. And he thought that the best way to protect his boys was not to hide the truth from them, but tell them what's out there and make them strong.
The first time I liked John, was in "Dead Man's Blood" where he practically apologized to Sam about his behaviour all these years and tried to explain to him why he did it. And that's when I understood John and I loved him since then!
He never used his kids as bait, he just had Dean protecting Sam when Sam was too young to do it himself. Of course the wight he put on little Dean's shoulders was too heavy but he didn't have a choice... I loved his speech-apologie to Dean right before he sells his soul to YED. And again he didn't have a choice by telling him that he might had to kill Sam... imagine if Sam turned out to be like Ava... What was Dean supposed to do then?
And everytime his boys called him he was there. He was watching out for them but he thought it was too dangerous for them to be together (as it was proved in "Shadow")
John has definitely made mistakes as a parent. But all parents do, nobody's perfect. For me he did the best he could for his sons.If he didn't make them such great hunters, Dean would probably be dead and Sam -since he was a special kid- would be Azazel's bff OR dead!

I love good debates, that was fun!!!

    ReplyDelete
  40. I voted for Andy (Andrew), he was just awesome. I hated it when he died.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Tough choice... I'm considering:

Bela (don't know why people hate her, she was the strongest female character ever on this show)
Ben (the perfect little mini Dean, how can you not love him in The Kids Are Alright?)
Chuck (loved him. The last man you'd suspect of being a prophet and yet here he is! unsure, alkoholic and just simply awesome)
Lisa (the one Dean imagines his happy life with, so if Dean says so, she is awesome!)
Pamela (best damn psychic in the state, used to give cool nicknames to the boys :P, knew how to do awesome spells and died for the bigger case)
Henricksen (for Jus in Bello, obviously)

now I loved Sarah, but I kind of ruled the one-shots out in this one, she already had her five minutes in another poll.
Ok, now I'm just gonna sit and think about it...

    ReplyDelete
  42. John was an ass, which Dean said a couple of times in the moments of despair - when your true feelings come out. One little apologizing monologue seconds before you die does not make up for years of being a terrible father. especially with that "you will have to kill Sam" statement at the end. I love John's relationship with Dean in early SPN, but it's more like, I love to hate it, because it makes me feel for Dean and love him even more. John ensured his sons with a definition of a crappy childhood and while Dean was trying to let Sam be a kid at least for a while, there was noone around to fo it for Dean.

but Chuck, ehm, Chuck was awesome. So was The Monster at The End of This Book.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I expected John to be winning by a lot more than he is

    ReplyDelete
  44. As much as I love John Winchester in his many different forms, I had to go with Ellen.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Definitely Bela! I don't understand why people hate her!

    ReplyDelete
  46. I kind of felt like she didn't belong in the SPN universe. I don't even know why that is.

    ReplyDelete
  47. You guys avoid to answer my burning question! If Sam turned evil the same way Ava did (or Andy's brother) what should Dean do?
("Sam would never turn evil" is not an option as an answer, LOL!)

    ReplyDelete
  48. So I had to go with Lisa. I just re-watched Exile on Main Street & I think its a great episode. I love her in it. But it was a hard choice cause I really love a lot of these people. Ellen and Jo, Ash, Pamela, & Henriksen are all Amazing as well and I probably would have voted for one of them if I had just watched one of their episodes. =]

    ReplyDelete
  49. But she turned off an awesome song!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Sam would never turn evil. :)

    ReplyDelete
  51. You're only proving that John was right to say this to Dean!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Really? Hmm, I never felt that way about her. :P

    ReplyDelete
  53. I actually thought it was cool she was neither a hunter, nor a real villain, nor a person in peril, it was refreshing. She fitted in the SPN universe jus fine for me.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I voted for Ellen. She was one FIERCE HBIC (I've been you-know-where too long), and I wish we'd gotten more of her. She's the only woman (aside from her kid, Mary Winchester [older and younger] and Sarah Blake) who I really appreciated on Supernatural. She was there for Sam and Dean, even when Dean didn't want her to be (his pissy attitude every time she tried talking to him in Everybody Loves a Clown -- of course, John had just died, so...), and she gave them a good verbal ass-kicking whenever they got belligerent. She was the closest thing that the boys had to an actual mom -- an actual PARENT -- with John and Mary gone.

When she came back in Season 5's Good God Y'all, and she had the gun on Sam and Dean, I was flailing like one of those .... whatchacallems. The Wacky Waveable Inflatable Arm-Flailing Tube Men :) And then when she threw her arms around Dean and hugged him, and then followed it up with a backhand to the back of his head for not keeping in contact with her... I was laughing so hard I was actually in tears.

I miss Ellen dearly. I still can't watch Abandon All Hope without bursting into nerve-wracking sobs. Ergo, favorite character from the series, not including Dean, Sam, Castiel and Bobby, is Ellen Harvelle.

    ReplyDelete
  55. LOL! Dahne, don't sugar coat it! :) I don;t feel the same about John. I kind of look at it from the perspective that he was an innocent in all this until he watched his wife burn on the ceiling. He had no idea what he was getting into and the YED and hunting wasn't his world until that point. He alluded to knowing 'for some time' about Sam and the threat to him, so his quest wasn't just to find the thing that killed his wife, but to learn as much as he could in order to protect his sons. Was he father of the year? No. Was he even a good parent? Probably not, but what he did managed to make Sam and Dean who they are -- which turned out to be exactly who they needed to be. If John had left them with Pastor Jim, or not been an absentee father, they wouldn't be so co-dependent and would probably never have been able to forge a strong enough bond to overcome the devil. Yes, he was a bastard who neglected his kids for the most part, but I do believe that, under the extreme circumstances, he did what he had to do to give them the best chance to survive. So, for that reason, I can't hate him.

I mean, if you're gonna hate someone for causing the boys emotional pain, it would make more sense to hate MAry. She wasn't around long enough, but the whole YED coming for Sam thing was really her fault. If she hadn't made her deal, none of it would've happened. John would've stayed dead. Sam and Dean would've never been born (and they were quite okay with that). But, the Winchesters were manipulated by powers stronger than ours (Kripke?) so they simply played the hands they were dealt.

So, in conclusion, your honor, :) I feel I must vote for John Winchester, whom despite all his flaws, Dean and Sam still love.

    ReplyDelete
  56. yeah but she was a pissed off mother.....I can relate....

    ReplyDelete
  57. Believe me, I have the workings of a long analysis of Mary in the works. As a viewer, she is the character of whom my perception has changed the most. Although I agree that John started out as innocent in the whole scheme, he is still responsible for his choices afterward. I'm not saying leave the brothers with Pastor Jim the whole time, although I think it would have been better for them if he did, but you definitely don't abandon them in the middle of a hunt where they are the target demo.

    ReplyDelete
  58. MARY! SHE'S MY EVERYTHING! I'D CHOOSE HER OVER MAIN CHARACTERS!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Chuck isn't human, he's God if you pay attention :P

    ReplyDelete
  60. I voted for Ellen. I agree with others that she was a mother figure to Sam and Dean. She helped them out with investigations, gave them advice (wanted or not), and put them in their place (when needed). I then remembered in "It's a Terrible Life" , Dean "Smith's" dad was Bobby and his mom was.... Ellen.
