Dominic Purcell has reportedly been linked to the lead role in Spartacus: Blood And Sand.Andy Whitfield was the show's original star but was forced to pull out of the second season so that he could be treated for non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
The president of the show's network Starz recently confirmed that Spartacus is recasting the lead and The Pacific's Liam McIntyre was thought to be the frontrunner.
However, Deadline claims that former Prison Break star Dominic Purcell filmed a screen test while on holiday in Australia and emailed it to Starz executives last week.
Purcell's physique is thought to be a positive factor following rumours that McIntyre was considered too thin for the role. He is now said to be training in an attempt to bulk up.
Other stars who have been linked to the role include Aiden Turner, Stephen Amell and Purcell's former co-star Wentworth Miller.

ReplyDeletedoes anyone remember remember him on Beastmaster ? it was befor Prisoners
excellent choice- he is so suitable for this roll- simillar to his roll as a fighter in BEASTMASTER
ReplyDeleteHe's not a great actor, but he has physical. Plus, a huge part of the Prison Break fandom could "migrate" to Spartacus. And new watchers are always a good thing.
ReplyDeleteMight not be the best actor, but he's not that bad and definitely has the body for such a role. Liked him on Prison Break, so I might watch the show again. The first 2 episodes didn't convince me that continuing to watch would be worth it.
