Update: 23:00 Apparently this story is false and there was no such EW Article. Thanks to everyone for reporting.

Smallville Exec. Producer Kelly Souders confirmed that Dario Delacio, who played Doomsday's monster version in season 8, will return to portray the ultimate destroyer for 3 episodes in season 10, including Geoff John's episode, "Booster".

Producer Kelly Souders has confirmed that Dario Delacio is returning to play a certain 7 ft tall monster on Smallville, but it isn't Darkseid
EW.com have had Smallville producer Kelly Souders confirms Dario Delacio is returning:

It's always great fun watching costumes being put on people for hour. But this season's villian will have a little bit more CGI involved. But one guy who has worked on the show before in costume is returning, none other then the beefed up Dario Delacio has signed on for three episodes. But he won't be playing Darkseid. He'll be playing a role he's more familiar with. I am sure it won't disappoint either with Geoff Johns writing

  1. They said that they will be borrowing from a comic book plot from the last 20 years (kryptonsite) so maybe its the death of superman and funeral for a friend story lines. why else bring back the horrible smallville doomsday

  2. While i agree completely that SV's Doomsday was horrible, at least they're tweaking it.
They mentioned that a lot more CGI will be involved, so one can only hope that they are correcting whatever they can, at least in the appearance department

  3. It was horrible indeed. But i'm sure it'll be better this time, at least in Goeff's episode

  4. Not sure how I feel about this. I wasn't gone on the previous Doomsday storyline, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt until I've seen it.

  6. I wouldve love for them to do a funeral for clark, I just hope this Doomsday is better looking. Last time it was a horrible fight and a horrible looking monster...

  7. I've never been too impressed with CGI on the show, but hopefully Doomsday won't look like something from Power Rangers this time.

  8. So they're bringing back the most disappointing interpretation in Smallville's history from Smallville's weakest season, hopefully this time will actually be good but I'm not holding my breath.

  9. Obviously this is subjective, but I found the whole Doomdsay plot immensely underwhelming. It took them a while to get their footing without Lex (and then they had the audacity to replace him in such a poor manner). The whole Oliver depression plot was repeated (as it was in season 9), and the continued "we're not sure if we want to put Lois and Clark together yet" thing was bad. Finally, the season finale was the worst season finale I've ever seen. Ant that is why I believe Season 8 was their weakest season.
