Nikita. That's the only thing of any value on the CW,
ReplyDeleteNone of the above.
ReplyDeleteGG, Supernatural, Smallville because I found it funny, and maybe spirits are my definite choices.
ReplyDeleteSmallville is the only one I watch so that..
ReplyDeleteNone of the above, I'd only run Veronica Mars!
ReplyDeleteJust Nikita and The Vampire Diaries for me. And none of those new shows sound really interesting...
ReplyDeletedefinetely GG! <3
ReplyDeleteits soooo amazingly scandalous and delicious
Personally i'd pick
ReplyDeleteGossip Girl, Smallville, Vampire Diaries, Nikita, Raven, Chloe, Secret Circle, Beautiful People, untitled kevin williamson project, Spirits and CONFESSIONS OF A BACKUP DANCER
Agree, I'd air the non-existent, hypothetical season 8 of Veronica Mars.
ReplyDeleteI could never run the CW because my demographic tastes run opposite of the CW's advertising. Still, I would pick up Secret Circle and Hawkshaw for sure. I might see how the Prickly Spheres demo looked. If I had to lose 2 shows to do it, I would axe One Tree Hill as its own actors seem to want it to stop and 90210. Although Gossip Girl seems to have several actors itching to ditch it too. No matter what, TVD would have to stay at least until the wacky vampire craze dies down. It's got by far the best numbers.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I like the idea from a couple of days ago, that the CW dump most of its programming and pick up several cancelled shows on other networks. If, and I'm only saying if, Fringe gets cancelled, the CW should pick it up and match it with Supernatural. No silly fandom wars then and I could watch them both live. Never going to happen, but I can live in my own ideal world.
Nikita and The Vampire Diaries, nothing else, this network is just so bad.
ReplyDeleteHowever, if I was mercyful, I would add Raven and Trigger, they both seem to be thir less shitty upcoming shows.
Chloe, Confessions of a backup Dancer,Secret Circle,Untitled Hilary Swank Project, Untitled Michelle Trachtenburg project, 90210, Gossip Girl, Nikita, Vampire Diaries, then One Tree Hill or ANTM and Hellcats
ReplyDeletesupernatural vampire diaries and smallville r only sensible and watchable shows on CW right now and its must watch.
ReplyDeletealong with that i want Secret circle, kevin Williamsons untitled show and Camp
Supernatural, TVD and maybe GG. Also I think many of the listed ones sound rather interesting. I would give a chance to Secret Circle, Spirits, Hawkshaw and maybe even Beautiful Strangers.
ReplyDeleteHalf way through voting I realized how little I cared...
ReplyDeleteHmmm...
Maybe the new pilots will bring something to the CW that few shows have before: tv worth watching.
*Coughsupenatcough*
ReplyDeleteOh my God...do you realize what kind of effect your post just had on me?
ReplyDeleteWe could've had 7 seasons so far :(
supernatural & nikita
ReplyDeleteWell obviously a lot of the people who've commented won't be getting Dawn Ostroff's job....no network however small or crappy will survive with only two or three shows...........:P
ReplyDeleteOK I'm thinking as a CW exec here, limited budget being my number one hurdle.
ReplyDeleteSo heres my realistic CW Fall 2011 schedule
MON
8PM-90210
9PM-GOSSIP GIRL
TUE
8PM-OTH
9PM-HELLCATS
WED
8PM-ANTM
9PM-NEW DRAMA
THUR
8PM-TVD
9PM-NEW DRAMA
FRI
8PM-NIKITA
9PM-SPN
I don't think the CW will pick up more than 2 new shows for next season, though I'm not sure who is making that decision. If Dawn Ostroff is still in charge of what happens at UP FRONTS come this summer than I say all current shows barring Smallville and LUX get renewed and 2 new dramas get picked up to make up the 10 hours of programming needed.
Nikita, Vampire Diaries, GG only shows I found interesting to watch on CWTV
ReplyDeleterealistically i think
ReplyDeleteMON
90210
GG
TUES
HELLCATS
Chloe
Wed
ANTM
CONFESSIONS OF A BACKUP DANCER
Thurs
Vampire Diaries
Untitled Kevin Williamson pilot OR Secret Circle OR Spirits
Friday
Supernatural
Nikita
Midseason
a reality show
I'm kinda maddish with the CW, ever since they cancelled Veronica Mars, and tried to get rid of Smallville and Supernatural from the beginnings. On the other hand, they did realize that they can't run a channel solely with shows like 90210, and though I don't watch either, I believe that Nikita and TVD were some smart choices to pick up. And there are some "might be interesting" stuff among the new possible projects. I'd pick up most of them. :P
ReplyDeleteOf course, this still doesn't change the fact, that I don't watch CW. >P
I'm really curious about Hawkshaw. I hope it gets picked up.
ReplyDeleteHow is it no one mentioned Melrose Place!?! lol ugh it was such a good show (second half of the season anyway) it's too bad it had to go the way it did.
ReplyDeleteI can't live without Vampire Diaries !
ReplyDeleteI wonder why...
ReplyDeleteGossip Girl, Nikita, Hellcats, Supernatural, Smallville has had a good run, Secret circle, Kevin Williamson Project, VD, the rest of the pilots i'd have to see (some look really stupid though)
ReplyDeleteHaven't got round to watching that yet, or Smallville, I just don't know if it is my thing? I know that I'm going to sound very uneducated in TV terms here (I'm not, honestly) but, like, what other shows is it like? I've just never got it.
ReplyDeleteMaybe we can get Ms Bell back on TV in Charlie's Angels.... not the same thing, but would be something... maybe....
ReplyDeleteThe only thing on the CW that I watch is Supernatural. However, I would keep the Vampire Diaries because it is well-done and brings in good ratings. Nikita has some buzz around it and brings in pretty good ratings so I would keep that. And I wouldn't have cancelled Life Unexpected, I don't watch it but I hear good things about it.
ReplyDeleteA couple of the new projects sound interesting (not really for me to watch, but I think that there would be value in the CW picking them up). Raven, the Kevin Williamson project (he has a pretty good track record of popular shows), and Hawshaw. I don't know.
Wow, Imagine it's your job to pick 10 or more of those shows with the new pilots.... YUCK! I am all for skewing young, but it seriously sounds more like a teen version of SyFy Channel. Maybe 1 out of 5 or 6 shows they make are watchable to me (excluding unwatchable reality shows), but I will not tune into any of those listed new pilots until well after they have been picked up for another season. Honestly any of them could be decent or actually fairly good, but they all have a huge meh factor if not executed properly.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking about what Fringe would look like on a CW budget.... *cringe*
ReplyDeleteYou just saved yourself from being sacrificed to our demon underlords.
ReplyDeleteSupernatural is not like anything else (IMO) It has a great mix of horror, fantasy, comedy, and drama. Great family relationship stuff, great characters...it's not afraid to go somewhere different and unexpected.
ReplyDeleteNo boring romantic triangle crap, no bad language, no bed hopping...so if that's what floats your boat then definitely don't watch it.....
Very, very good point. I rescind that plan unless it comes with its own budget.
ReplyDeleteFirst, CW, DO NOT try to do "cop shows". There's CBS for that and you don't have enough money to do it properly (I don't even trust the network with a reboot of 21 Jump Street..)
ReplyDeleteSquirrels has an interesting premise, as does Secret Circle; there are too many shows based on the premise of someone giving up a prestigious scholarship to follow his/her heart - in this day and age, it's not dreamy, it's stupid; plus, you simply don't give up something you've spent 15 years trying to achieve. I'd rather see how someone looks for the dream they thought they had to give up or how someone manages two paths at once - the classical musician attends Julliard AND at night plays with an indie band, or the medical students wins a prestigious internship except it's in psychiatry, an area she's got no interest in and she's got to choose between that and a basic internship elsewhere but in the specialty she's interested in. Shows where people have to scrape by, figure things out when life is tight, and look for a way in difficult circumstances.
i'm i allowed to say supernatural for all 11??
ReplyDeletecoz i would. i would make it run permanently
maybe 1 vampire diaries
ReplyDeleteOf course you'll sound uneducated when you say there's nothing else of value on the Network and then admit you haven't even watched everything else.
ReplyDeleteI would move Supernatural to a better place and then shut down the CW on the grounds of being assbuttingly lame.
ReplyDeleteAnd then I would take a holiday in Hawaii. With Angelina Jolie.
Hahaha - assbuttingly...
ReplyDeleteWhat could Angelina possibly have done to deserve you?
The new ones sound good to me too, ofcourse after TVD ^^
ReplyDeleteXD There is a LITTLE bit of bad language. I mean, Dean DOES like to say SOB quite a bit. It's his comfort word =D But everything else is so spot on -nods-
ReplyDeleteNone!!!!!!!! Well. I won't be watching any, really? Life Unexpected is already cancelled, I'm glad Smallville is getting a proper end. Supernatural will likely be something I watch out of obligation later on (as I record it so I can watch Fringe live) because I've been a fan from the start but it's just dropped out of my heart in terms of glee-inducing. I still like it but whatever.t I miss the old WB awesomeness. This new CW stuff is all not my cup of tea.
ReplyDeleteI watch TVD, GG and Hellcats. 90210, Supernatural, Nikita and OTH will obviously come back too, and probably ANTM. It's pretty much definite that LUX and Smallville are going. So... that leaves space for two new shows. From my opinion of shows I might try, the 'Untitled Michelle Trachtenberg' project, because I love that girl, and it sounds like it could be good. I also like the idea for 'Squirrels', it sounds like something different.
ReplyDeletefor the most part, i'm going to have to agree with jillyanne and say its a pretty damn unique show. however recently i introduced a friend to supernatural and the commented it has a bit of a dexter vibe to it, and it kind of does (but better).
ReplyDeleteBUT in saying that, i maintain that its still unlike anything else i've ever seen on television.
but would you renew it? i always say, let a show end when it should or otherwise it just loses... i dunno, integrity or something. a primary reason why i was nervous about supernatural extending beyond the 5 season end date, but luckily my doubts proved to be unfounded thus far.
ReplyDeleteGG, 90210, OTH, LU, ANTM, SPN, Nikita, Hellcats, TVD and 2 random new promising shows i haven't heard enough of nor checked out. Some i watch and love and others just because i've heard nice things about it and has relatively good ratings.
ReplyDeleteI noticed 2 things while writing this. 1) wow, there are a LOT of shows with acronyms 2) CW really is niche audience targeted - i'd try expand my range, IMO niche audiences are really only a luxury cable networks can afford (but what do i know, i do all my tv watching on the internet).
Well I guess you're right, but I was kinda comparing it in my head to the likes of True Blood where every second word seems to be what I term 'real swear words'. SOB barely counts in my opinion....
ReplyDeleteShhh... Mortals aren't suppose to know about that
ReplyDeleteWow, I think I just went through and pressed 'like' on every comment that mentioned Supernatural in a positive way XD. Besides that realistically TVD, Supernatural, Gossip Girl, Nikita, Hellcats, 90210 and ANTM are going to get picked up. For me OTH is the only one in real risk of getting cancelled but you never know. I believe The Secret Circle will be picked up because I've heard the most buzz about it. My personnal picks about the other two (if OTH is cancelled) are Beautiful Strangers because it kinda sounds like Leverage or White Collar and Raven because I like SciFi.
ReplyDeleteOn a side note does Spirits sound like Supernatural to anyone else? Turn '3' into '2' and 'women' into 'brothers' and it's the same thing. It even starts with the same letter. XD
Assuming One Tree Hill leaves at the end of this season too, there are three empty slots.
ReplyDeleteMONDAY
America's Next Top Model
Gossip Girl
TUESDAY
90210
Hellcats
WEDNESDAY
Untitled Michelle Trachtenberg project
Raven
THURSDAY
The Vampire Diaries
Untitled Kevin Williamson project
FRIDAY
Supernatural
Nikita
All Supernatural, all the time :-D
ReplyDeleteGG, Supernatural, OTH, Hellcats, Nikita, TVD, mabeee Smallville
ReplyDeleteEnough of this douchebaggery!
ReplyDeleteI don't see the Dexter vibe.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love Dexter.
So there.
Yeah, guess your right, but I don't think there is anyone on this site who has watched everything. (But at least they don't disregard other shows is your point).
ReplyDeleteStop making my point for me!!
ReplyDeleteNow I have nothing to berate you with. :c
:/ I hate it when I have nothing to berate people with :/ makes me sad.
ReplyDeleteSo after all of this, should I watch supernatural? :L
Supernatural is actually one of the few shows I would recommend to everyone.
ReplyDeleteIt has its highs and lows, like most shows, but even through the crappy filler episodes, there's some good shizzle.
Lets see.
ReplyDeleteWould cancell Supernatural. Frnakly believe that it would do the fans a favor because of what a joke the last three seasons were and it seems to be just going worse and worse with no original charm the series had, nor a coherent
plot.
Obviously would fire E.Kripke and hurredly give the Endless tv show project to someone actually capable.
Now on renewals:
Vampire Diaries(obviously, considering its hands down the best show on the channel and one of the best shows on tv).
- HAWKSHAW:because it sounds like it could have some potentially interesting and complex ideas and twin-peaks-y twists.
- Raven (sounds like a good idea and would compliment TVD, Secret Circle and so on very well)
- Secret Circle (as far as I know books are great and Kevin Williamsom has already proven himself with TVD that he can create a fantastic joyride for a long long time).
- Spirits (idea reminds me somewhat of Charmed so as long as it does not jump the shark with fairytales and shopping malls, it would be an interesting idea to fill the void charmed left, as there frankly are no shows with that particular style anymore)
- Untitled Kevin Williamson Project (Sounds interesting, could be a great replacement for Supernatural, once that horse is finally shot.Hopefully this time it will have a great and serious plot, conspiracies and plottwists that actually lead somewhere.
- UNTITLED MICHELLE TRACHTENBERG PROJECT (could be an interesting idea if structured right, even though it reminds way too much of Sanctuary, Mentalist and Lie To Me).
Dude, OTH is looking pretty safe right now. Dont always say it without even knowing the facts!!!!!
ReplyDeletevampire diaries that's about it
ReplyDeleteI agree - the CW was supposed to be the WB with sitcoms. And what has it become??
ReplyDeleteAlthough you kinda could have predicted it when they decided to cancel "Everwood" and keep "7th Heaven" for an 11th year.......
OTH isnt safe cast contracts are up and cast / creators want it to end
ReplyDeleteYES! do.
ReplyDeleteDONT START! Gosh season 4 looked sooooooooooo awesome. *trying not to cry*
ReplyDeleteLOL ahhahah I love you ahahaha
ReplyDeleteCrap, crap, crap,...
ReplyDeleteOH Supernatural, and VD + 90210 (crap but I like it)
I dont like this long list of posible new show. just make it a spn week
Supernatural and Smallville both skew a lot more male than anything else on the CW. Don't discount it because of the crummy network. I don't exactly fit the CW demographic either. I'm too old for them to care about. However, you will find that Supernatural appeals to a wide variety of people. If you want to see Supernatural in a microcosm try the Pilot and A Very Supernatural Christmas. They will give you a good idea of what the show is about without being too mytharc heavy. If you try it, come back and tell us what you thought. We're always curious.
ReplyDeleteOh Everwood how I miss you. Edna, Ephraim, Harold - you are still part of my TV family.
ReplyDeleteForgot to say, I'm 25 and a guy... so really not their demographic either.
ReplyDeleteStargate Universe to replace Smallville oh one can only dream
ReplyDeleteThe Vampire Diaries, Nikita, Supernatural, One Tree Hill, Hellcats and Gossip Girl. Couldn't care less about any of the others!! If these are on next year then I'll be happy!!!
ReplyDelete
