| "Am I Borin you, Gibbs?" |
They brought Diane Neal’s character back, CGIS Special Agent Abigail Borin, or simply “the other Abby”. She’s very nice, with her Gibbs-esque performance and it’s always nice to see her being a Boss in essence, but not the Boss at the time, although it doesn’t stop her from taking McGee’s spot on the team, which is pretty fun to watch.
I remember that, the last time Agent Borin showed up, the episode was all about her, Gibbs and how shocking their resemblance was. This time, there was room enough to every single relationship and character to develop or at least do your part, plus the Wonder Twins jokes. The Abbies and Gibbs; Tony, Ziva and Tim (I love their moments in the squad “room”); Tiva (that Miami guy reminds me of the Rivkin Era and also gives me the creeps); they all got their moments, and we, the fans, appreciate it.
Funniest scene: Tony’s impersonation of Hercule Poirot. Priceless.

| Surfin' Duck |
Deep Thoughts of Myself: I wonder if Ducky spends his lonely nights catching up on the “Did You Know…?” section on Wikipedia. Where else would he find out that a famous marksman was also a champion duck-caller?
Cool reference: The two Rules #1, and how Borin has rules of her own.
“What the Heck?” Mode: The photos on Gibbs’ wall. I had never seen them before and didn’t understand their purpose. Remembering the long gone unknown Marines who died and whose cases Gibbs investigated? Ain't that number too high to be accounted for? Is the eighth season time to create new traditions like this? Let me know later.
The case itself was really cool, and I really felt sorry for the dead Marine, he was such a nice guy, apparently. And it t had been a while since the last time I couldn’t point out who was the Bad-Guy-of-the-Week on this show at the first sight. This time, I could bet it was the greedy lawyer, but actually it wasn’t just him. Congratulations to whoever came up with this idea. Though not very original, I was surprised, so that’s cool for once.
I give this episode hmm… Four stars out of five, because it was a really cool one to watch.
Let me know what you think about the episode below! Your opinion is always very important. ^^

Thank you Ana, I love reading NCIS reviews. One of my guilty pleasures :)
ReplyDeleteyou're welcome! it's always a pleasure to write about an amazing show like NCIS. :D
ReplyDeleteThat was a very entertaining episode, and it was great to see how the Hercule Poirot thing was more than just a random reference, especially if you are familiar with the actual resolution of Murder on the Orient Express.
ReplyDeleteNice review too... Brazilian, by any chance?
Yes, indeed I thought it could be like the end of Murder on the Orient Express, but I thought "it" was among EVERYBODY on the boat. LOL Then I thought "no, it can't be, too much people", and the episode proved I was right. Sort of.
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading my review! ^^
eu sou brasileira. com muito orgulho, com muito amor! ^^
Don't agree about the funniest scene. In my opinion that was one of the few bad ones in this episode. I hate this silly Tony. At least he had a few good moments and actually did work, for a change.
ReplyDeleteI think the episode was great; I'd give it 9/10 points (since 4/5 = only 8/10, I rather use the 10 points ;)). Borin was great and there were many hilarious scenes...
For example:
"Never make excuses is rule #1. You should write that down."
"I would, but rule #1 has already been taken. Twice."
"Agent Borin's a lucky lady. Don't worry Ziva. You will find your Mehlman"
"If you do... RUN!"
:D
"Jethro, did you know, that apart from being one of the greatest marksmen in history, Herb Parsons was also a champion duck-caller?"
"No... I didn't know that, Duck, because I don't know who that is. But if you get anything else... DUCK... call!"
Excellent wordplay! :D
And yes, Navy looks good on Borin. I think she should come back soon!
I simply can't hate Tony, sorry... And I watched the movie he was referencing to and, as a movie-buff-wannabe, I found that quote really hilarious. :D
ReplyDeleteThe ones you mentioned were also very good, though.
Thanks for reading and commenting! ^^
I always have to give NCIS 5 stars lol!! Great review... I too loved DiNozzo's impression of Poirot and the two rules reference... :D

ReplyDeletefive stars are for season finales, premieres and tearjerk episodes. LOL
