Glee - Justin Bieber Episode Coming

8 Jan 2011

Sources confirm to me exclusively that Glee is doing a February sweeps episode that’s Justin Biebercentric.
Details are still sketchy, but I’m told the episode — tentatively scheduled to air on Feb. 15 — will feature the cast covering several of the teen phenom’s songs. Bieber himself will also figure into the episode’s plot, although there are no plans for him to appear in the flesh. At least not as of this writing.

  1. I'm fairly sure I have not prayed for 25 years or more, but "PLEASE God (or whichever deity is listening) DO NOT let Justin Beiber appear in the flesh..."

  2. Ugh. I hate Bieber and the show is going so downhill lately. I've been losing interest for awhile now.

  3. I Love Glee but I HATE JUSTIN BIEBER !!!!
I think Fox wants more audiences. But Why him ?
There are so many artists more talented than this guy in this world.
And the worst is that Bieber will be in the episode.

  4. Seriously, I'm a massive gleek, I mean a huge one. I'm seeing them on tour in England and everything, but to be honest, the show is declining in quality, as soon as the show got popular (after the first season break) it has been about making money and featuring celebrities rather than the actual plot, if this doesn't change, then I don't think it will get a fourth season.

  5. I don't watch Glee, but it seems to me like they're featuring a lot of guest stars.

  6. that is an episode i won't definitely watch! that kid suck!

  7. I think the first half of season 1 was INCREDIBLE and it went down hill from there for me. I still enjoy it and I am one of the rare people that does not mind the guest stars at all, but for me there was way too much Finn/Rachel end of last year and WAY too much Kurt this year. Without big storylines for multiple characters they seem to get bogged down in one particular plot and run it into the ground. I still enjoy the show, but I miss the snarkiness and anti establishment attitude of the first half of season 1.

  8. I like Rachel/Finn, but I definitely agree on the Kurt thing.

  9. I don't understand the hate for Bieber! I don't like him, or his music... at all, but why would everyone personally hate on him so much?

And Glee, well, it's always been terrible imo.

  10. I'll keep watching Glee...but I definitely won't be watching this episode. I can't stand Justin Bieber. Why in the world is Glee, that tackles mature topics all the time, catering to the teeny bopper crowd?

  11. I don't think the show is going downhill, except two or three episodes which I didn't love, I really enjoyed this half-season.

But, this Bieber-episode is a mistake. He can be popular, but he's not old enough to be given an homage episode.

  12. I guess I understand why they are doing it, the younger audience is a large portion of the viewing audience. I am also fairly sure as many people hated the idea of Britney being on an episode or havign a Britney episode in general, but I liked that one in the end... a lot. I will watch this episode and silently hope that the week of filming Beiber gets a case of mono from whichever tart he is dating that week.

  13. I hope that's just an early April Fool's Joke. That's too much. Glee already has a big public and more publicity, by involving Bieber in it, is not necessary.

  14. I swear this is going to be the biggest FAIL of all times!!
I swear if this happens I will thing twice before watching Glee again!

  15. I may not like Justin Beiber or his voice but his songs aren't bad and as long as its just covers of his songs without an actual appearance, I'll watch.

  16. There are a lot of "pop" songs that are actually fairly good songs on paper... it's just the artist that perform them that make unlistenable for me. I am hoping the cast can put a spin on it I will enjoy, but I am not counting on it just yet...

  17. It is a JOKE, right? Ryan Murphy is going crazy or what? I love glee, But I will not see this. this kid is a crap. pure crap.

  18. it he appers in flesh i anit watching i can take a few of his songs but that it. unless if further the story line in a big way im not impressed at all but i will end up watching it i can help myself :/

  19. oh my lord. Why Bieber songs? And why should he guest star? -,-

  20. Im gonna try and give the episode a chance, but if it sucks within the first 5 mins, Im not watching the rest. I refuse to sit through an entire hour of Justin Beiber related entertainment if the episode is not amazing

  21. Well, worst idea EVER...

    ReplyDelete
  22. Love Glee, indifferent to Bieber, I have no interest in listening to his music, will skip this episode.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Come on!!! Are they trying to destroy the show?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Wow. Skipping this episode then.

  25. The creative team behind Glee is losing my trust as time goes on. After the 2 tribute episodes this seasons, they said we won't be seeing any more tribute episode for awhile. And now THIS?! the quality of the show went downhill -- compare the first half of the first season to this current season. All the heart that the show had is gone; they're going for big names, while pushing aside the core aspects that made this show so great: Tina? Mercedes? Quinn? Terri? Instead they shove in Sam, Mike and Krofsky, and changing Kurt into a tragic hero. I understand their aim, but the execution is, well.. execution for the show itself. The out-of-character moments that are only used to cause more drama and shocks are getting out of hand. There's no continuity between episodes, and character development is not developing.

Don't get me wrong, I loved Glee at the beginning. I'm still buying the songs from iTunes before every episode, but enough is enough. I think this season, though it had a few strong episodes ("Duets" and "Furt") was disappointing. And now Beiber? The show lost its true meaning in favor of money and ratings. I know this is show business, but it had so much potential...

  26. I bet that in season 3, Ryan Murphy will make a Jersey Shore tribute episode. Hey, why not?

I just watched episode 1.19 two days ago so I didn't catch up every episode out there so I can't comment on the quality of season 2. I will soon, because after stopping the show one year ago around episode 1.06, I got back to it this year and it is pretty good so far (episodes from 1.09 to 1.13 are especially good, since then I got to say there's too much of Finn/Rachel drama, boring).

  27. I don't think you're alone there. I see a lot of similar comments from
    a lot of people

  28. I've already stopped watching. I honestly find it a little snobby to think that Glee is somehow ABOVE Justin Beiber at this point in the show's run. Justin Beiber doesn't have featured artists carry his songs like Glee does with guest stars. I'm not saying he's the best guy out there with the best music, but let's not pretend Glee wasn't already destroyed before Justin Beiber was written in.

  29. I have to say that I don't understand why so many people hate Justin Bieber (like, they can't hear his name without b*tching), or why so many people are obsessed with him (like, really obsessed!!), I've only heard the chorus of that "baby" song, that's about all I know from Bieber. I watched an MTV performance of his and he was clearly doing playback or whatever because his back-up dancers kept throwing him up and down and yet his voice was always pitch-perfect in the mentime, which is impossible. But the idea of putting him on "Glee" and doing a centric episode of it all makes me sick. They couldn't decide between honoring great artists such as Michael Jackson, Bruce Springsteen or Elton John, and they go with Bieber? I don't think I could stand sitting through an episode about a kid I don't even know.

  30. I really hope this is a joke on SpoilerTV. :P

  31. I wish the annoying Bieber fanatics would go away. Seriuosly, nobody likes Justin Bieber and this is the episode I'm definitely wont be watching.

Why not do a Michael Jackson one or something I'm pretty sure he's kids love the show

    ReplyDelete
  32. I have to agree. I'm starting to lose interest in the show Fox is starting to get obsessive on the whole thing and not caring for the other shows they own, the stars of the show are not acting role models to the young fans out there (due to the CQ shoot I think a lot of people have started to turn away from it), the whole Lea Michele diva thing is ridiculous the show is not about you!

I think it's a waste of time and money for purchasing another 2 seasons when S2 started people will stop watching after S3 like with what happened to Heroes

    ReplyDelete
  33. Oh Glee what have you done? I'll probably end up watching the episode and muting it every time a song of his comes on.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Sorry I won't be watching that episode for sure!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Thanks good! the rumor is FALSE!!

  36. if its true, its not that i really hate bieber (i just don't care), but his music doesn't really provide much range or depth, it'd be just more stunt casting/desperate attempts at getting a bigger viewership. COME ON GLEE, WHERE'S THE FEEL-GOOD QUIRKINESS WE FELL IN LOVE WITH?

    ReplyDelete
  37. I like Justin Bieber so, I'd like to see this episode. Some teenage song, Hmm, I prefer something like Cheryl Cole, or Inna. But just my opinion.
