We’re only a few weeks away from Glee‘s ginormous, post-Super Bowl episode airing Feb. 6, but, here at EW, we’re already thinking about the rest of season 2. There’s been a slew of fresh romances this season — Tina & Mike, Sam & Quinn, Artie & Brittany — but EW can exclusively reveal that one of those couples will be biting the dust soon. SPOILER ALERT!
The pair that will be joining Rachel and Finn as the latest New Directions exes are the show’s resident hot blonds, Sam and Quinn. Says co-creator Ryan Murphy, “I got bored. They were too perfect.” But that doesn’t mean that Sam will be on his own. “He starts dating Santana,” says Murphy. “He needs a little salsa spice.” Murphy adds that Quinn will also find comfort in the form of her old boyfriend, Finn. Shocking!

Huh...is it because of the Bieber song? That's gotta be it. I was thinking Santana and Finn would give it a shot, but I saw the potential problem there that she's not really a one man at a time kind of girl, and Finn would definitely have issues with that. Quinn and Finn giving it another shot isn't TOO surprising, but I do wonder how successful they'll be starting a relationship that has previously ended by her cheating on him with his best friend and giving birth to his child. The Glee relationships don't usually make sense anyway, so goodluck to them.
ReplyDeleteLOL yeah I agree about the bieber song.
ReplyDeleteagree relationships on glee is kinda why I dont like the show so much. its enoying,
I get that kids in school break and and get back together with frequency and it is important to their gossip lives, but seriously - why are TV relationships important to ANYONE?
ReplyDeleteIt's simple, really. You get invested in the character. You spend your time getting to know them and learn about them and you develop emotions for them because they're supposed to inspire some reaction within you.
ReplyDeleteNaturally, when you become attached to a character you want them to be happy, and if you think they would be happy with someone specific then you hope it all works out in the end, even if they have to go through hell to get there.
For example, Tony and Ziva would make a great couple, but they've both had to go through a lot just to get as close as they are. I know a lot of people, myself included, who watch the show just to see how that will turn out.
How about Fringe? A fairly large chunk of the comments for each episode involve the two of them. Bones? It's popular BECAUSE of the relationships between the characters. I could personally care less about the murder mysteries.
The same thing applies with books, movies, comics, cartoons, anime, and any other form of entertainment which includes a story and characters. We all have differing opinions on how certain relationships should go, so when a writer does something that stimulates an emotional response, you're going to get attached.
Personally, I like TV relationships not for the relationships themselves, but for the interesting dialogue and scenes they always produce. In this case, how Quinn and Finn will handle a new relationship and how people will react to that relationship is more interesting than the relationship itself.
On NCIS, how Tony and Ziva will handle their relationship, and the undoubtedly amusing conversations it will spark, is the best part. I'm sure you get the point.
In conclusion, any relationship that inspires an emotion will make people care about it more. Some people thought Finn and Rachel were perfect for each other, some thought Puck and Rachel were great (something I soooo don't agree with). These relationships are a little crazy sometimes, but I've seen at least two relationships on here that had some similarities to ones I've been in before. I'm sure I'm not the only one.
NO to Finn and Quinn!!! Give me Puck and Quinn, damnit!!!
