Glee - Casting News - Anne Hathaway to Guest

GleeLooks like all of Chris Colfer's dreams are coming true.
Not only did the artist known to Gleeks as Kurt win his first Golden Globe (along with victories for Jane Lynch and the show itself), but creator Ryan Murphy confirmed to us tonight that Chris' big ol' wish of a guest star is happening. So who is it?

Ryan and the Glee cast stopped by to chat with our own Giuliana Rancic after their win for Series, Television Musical or Comedy, and Ryan shared the news that Anne is coming on the show--which apparently came as a surprise to some of the cast!

The show is becoming way to commercialised. I have nothing against Anne Hathaway, and thinks she's a great actress but, does the show really need anymore guest stars? It has too many. They only do it for the publicity. A show shouldn't need guest stars to make it great. That was what was so great about it to begin with. I know Kristin Chenoweth was a guest star, but her character didn't feel forced.
ReplyDeleteI may be wrong and she could be a great addition to the show but, Ryan doesn't need to bring in guest stars to boast ratings. Producing great stories does that.
Unfortunately, it seems thats all i hear about Glee these days. I really do agree. All the guest stars seem to just be publicity stunts, generating publicity the show really does not need. It takes away from the quality of the story and honestly, isn't their cast already overflowing with talent to showcase without jamming in more things?

ReplyDeletei actually disagree i loved gweneth paltrow and i do not think there have been many of those guest stars this season britney was in it for like two seconds and john stamos is barely a celebrity i wil definetly be looking forward to anne hathaway on glee and i am so excited for gweneth to come back i would also kind of like to see a justin timberlake episode and a spice girls/pussycat dolls episode and i think megan mullaly should guest star at som point aswell
ReplyDeleteKristen, Idina, Jonathan, Eve, Olivia Newton John, Josh Groban, Molly Shannon, and Neil Patrick Harris have been in season one. In season two so far there have been Britney for like two seconds, Gweneth Paltrow, Carol Burnette, John Stamos and Charice. That's it so far for the second season. Katie Couric [?] also in the super bowl episode. So them adding Anne Hathaway to those few compared the first season. Kristen will be back, but they aren't really saying when she will be. Who knows Anne might not even be in it until the third season. They didn't say when she will be in it they just said she was going to be in it. So really it's not that bad so far. Just saying.
