  2. And I have two new dates circled on my calendar!

It makes sense, Big Love ends on March 21st, Mildred Pierce takes over.

One could wonder why HBO doesn't launch Game of Thrones on March 27th as well, but when we take a look at the calendar, it makes sense : the 4th season of True Blood will probably premiere on June 19th, and that would also be the night of the Season Finale of Game of Thrones.

HBO did that last year too, episodes 9 and 10 of Treme aired after episodes 3.01 and 3.02 of True Blood. The 2 half-hour summer comedies (Hung and Entourage) premiered in late june, that will also the case this year.

Btw, last year, HBO lanched a mini-series on March 14th (The Pacific) and a new series on April 11th (Treme). This season, they do pretty much the same programmation : their new mini-series begins on March 27th (Mildred Pierce) and is joigned on sunday nights by a new drama 3 to 4 weeks later (Game of Thrones on April 27th).

Too bad that Larry David will probably not make his way through all these big dramas in spring, I wish HBO would program the 10 episodes before september (I need my Curb yur Enthusiasm fix, I can't wait this long!).

I've got a theory of scheduling that would work : episodes 8.01 and 8.03 of Curb air on March 27th, April 4th and April 11th after Mildred Pierce. And then, the week after Mildred Pierce ends (the mini-series has 6 episodes), HBO can air the next 7 episodes of the 8th season of Curb before or after Game of Thrones (which will be all alone), from May 8th to June 12th (a two-hour season finale and that would fit right in).

It would go against HBO's policy to air 3 episodes in late march/early april and the other 7 episodes 4 weeks later, but personnally I wouldn't mind.
