The Walking Dead - Finale hits Ratings High
Dec 6, 2010
The Walking DeadAMC's The Walking Dead hit a series high for its final first season episode Sunday night.
Six million viewers tuned in for the show's sixth episode, including four million adults 18-49. That's up 9% from last week -- which was also a series high.
If you include the show's 11 p.m. encore, the finale delivered a whopping 8.1 million viewers.
Walking Dead ended with a quasi cliffhanger that felt like a solid finish to the first batch of episodes while still leaving fans ready for more zombie action -- which may not happen until next October, the current target date for the 13-episode second season.

Wow. That's huge for syfy! Awesomeness!
ReplyDeleteIf season two stands up to the challenge, we should start thinking about a petition: "For The Walking Dead in spolierTV's banner" :)
ReplyDeleteHuge ratings! Thanks a lot AMC for taking a chance on a show like this. Im certainly going to buy it on DVD as soon as it hits Australia. Daryl is my fave character, Could we get perhaps an interview with the guy playing him?
ReplyDeletenot to dim your hopes but The Supernatural fans tried that already--I mean we won the "BEST SHOW EVER" competition and STILL no SPN in the SPTV banner. :/
ReplyDeleteAWESOME! Nice to see people appreciate a well written, well acted show that may be out of their traditional TV comfort zone!
ReplyDeleteWow, that's huge. But looking at recent cable ratings I must say I see a trend that some cable shows are getting more and more popular and cable stations in general being able to generate really good ratings. Seems like increasingly more people getting tired of those mostly crappy shows on network stations.
ReplyDeleteI don't get tired of saying this, Norman Reedus is just awesome. Ever since I saw him in the first Boondock Saints movie I'm a huge fan of his work and when I heard he's going to be on The Walking Dead I was simply excited to see him on the show. Booyah!
ReplyDeleteI'm happy too! I like very much the show, and I wish people could do the same for Fringe, another cool but not rewarded show.
ReplyDeleteOctober? NooooooOOooo!
