The Vampire Diaries - Ex. producer plans more Tyler and Caroline scenes

The Vampire Diaries's executive producer Julie Plec has promised that there will be more scenes between Tyler and Caroline.

The pair have formed a bond recently since learning about each other's supernatural qualities.

"They are sort of biologically destined to be separated because of the fact that a bite from him could kill her," Plec said. "But they are emotionally growing closer and closer as she helps him through this really rough experience. We're going to see a lot between them as a result of those two things."

Plec also hinted that Matt (Zach Roerig) will be unhappy about the new friendship between Tyler and Caroline.

    Am I the only one who liked Caroline with Matt? Don't get me wrong. Caroline and Tyler is going to be awesome. But I feel like Matt and Caroline had so much going for them... now Matt is just becoming a useless side character and that's disappointing.

    I doubt Matt's going to be pushed to the side as a 'side character'. On the contrary, I see the possibility of him questioning why two people who weren't close before suddenly are. In addition, he still provokes a side of Caroline that loves him and misses him. I could see Caroline trying to protect Matt while at the same time helping Tyler. Also, I can see Tyler becoming furious when he finds out that Caroline hasn't been quite as forthcoming about her vampire history and why she isn't the only bloodsucker in town.
