Deadline reports that a U.S. broadcaster is already on board the new Transporter TV show, based on the hit movie franchise from Luc Besson’s EuropaCorp movie factory. EuropaCorp won’t say who the US partner is, “but it’s a big one,” Shooting on the $48 million 12-part series will start early next year, with the first episodes being delivered early November. French producer Lagardere Entertainment is fully-financing the show, having licensed The Transporter from EuropaCorp.
A Taken TV series is also in development based on the Liam Neeson / Famke Janssen starring Taken which has a sequel filming this Spring.
Europacorp is also co-producing XIII: the series with Showcase (Lost Girl) and Prodigy Pictures (Lost Girl) Canadian premiere will be this Spring for XIII: the series

Transporter without Jason Statham isn't Transporter at all, same as Taken without Neeson isn't Taken at all. I doubt they'll get those stars for the TV shows.

ReplyDeleteI hope it would be AWESOME like the first Taken.
These shows could all end up being really trashy...but I'll probably still check all of them out.
ReplyDeleteIf they find actors who can carry the show and make you "forget" about the original actor, it could work.
