  1. Sam's death in All Hell Breaks Loose, part 1 was the most touching to me because it was the first time a brother died and we got to see how torn up they are without each other. There was so much fallout to this death. Plus, I like how it was before everyone started dying and coming back. Now Supernatural death doesn't have the same weight to it.

  2. Definitely, Sam's death in All Hell Breaks Loose!! When Dean saw his brother being killed, it was so heartbreaking Jensen rocked the hell out of those scenes!! He made that death scene!! Every single time I watch that scene I tear up!! It was very well-acted!!

  3. Sam in All Hell Breaks Loose - I've shed a few SPN tears over the years but nothing else has really got to me like that shot of Dean running to catch Sam as he fell. Even Sam falling into the cage in Swan Song didn't affect me nearly as much

    ReplyDelete
  4. I don't usually get teary-eyed in any show, but this episode did give me allergy eyes and the sniffles. It was so well-done and such a powerful testament to the brother's relationship.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Sam falling in the cage felt more like completing a mission. It wasn't less intense but it was more heroic than sheer intense emotion to me. Plus, in Swan Song the brothers had discussed what was going to happen first. In AHBL, it came as such a shock to the brothers that it grabbed me as well.

  6. Why isn't Gabriel's death an option? That was pretty emotional to me. It made me very sad

    ReplyDelete
  7. It wasn't nominated Taylor. And yeah I really wasn't expecting them to kill Gabriel off - not that soon anyway. He was awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  8. Because no one nominated him when we did the nominations on Monday.

The general plan every week is to nominate on Monday and Tuesday and then start voting on Wednesday (Midwest USA time) for each weekly poll throughout the hiatus. Some topics will lend themselves to multiple voting and therefore we will vote on more than one day. Others will be a one-vote kind of thing. :-) By the way, I was really sad when Gabriel died too. Mostly because I loved the character and thought he added much-needed humor into the series.

  9. Voted for Sam in Swan Song but Jo and Ellen was heartbreaking to watch.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Oooh, I had a hard time deciding between Dean in NRFTW, or Sam in Swan Song. I know that both of them had died a lot by then, but I loved Sam's flashback and "It's okay Dean. I've got him". And then Sam dragging Michael along with him.

As for Dean, it was shock factor. I was so sure that they would save Dean. Watching Hellhounds ripping him limb from limb was... well, shocking.

  11. I was stuck between Sam in All Hell Breaks Loose and Dean in No Rest for the Wicked, but I went with Sam.. really hard choice, but I think that one was the most heartbreaking death for me.. :'( <3

    ReplyDelete
  12. Dean's death in No Rest For The Wicked...i swear whenever i watch that episode, even though I know its coming, I start crying. When I first saw it though, I thought it was unexpected, since I was convinced they wouldnt let a main character die. I saw how wrong I was lol

    ReplyDelete
  13. NRFTW came as a shock to me too - that was back in the days before it was truly accepted that SPN would stop at nothing when it comes to doing the unexpected. Of course now we expect the unexpected and they STILL catch us off guard....... I like that :)

  14. Madison got me because Sam having to do it, Dean jumping as she died and of course her being so brave about it. The brothers deaths were heartwrenching as well but you 'know' they are coming back. For Madison, death was truly final and Sam truly lost her. I think it was one of the first 'monsters' we 'liked' too.

    ReplyDelete
  15. It surprised me how much more I liked Ellen and Jo after Abandon All Hope. They were already rising in my opinion of them, but it skyrocketed in this episode. Such a beautiful death scene.

    ReplyDelete
  16. It was hard for me too. Mostly because they seemed like halves of the same whole. Both were so strong not because of the death but because of the other brother's reaction.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Supernatural does have a way of shocking us in all the best ways. For most of the season I was on the fence as to whether they would or not; it was the shortened season that convinced me Dean would die. But it still was a gut-wrenching scene for me regardless. They really know how to make an impact in the finale.

    ReplyDelete
  18. it was a tough call for me between sam's death in AHBL and ellen and jo but i went with the latter, only because i watched the series in a weird order so i already knew that sam would be back after he died.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Yeah, that's exactly why I loved (AND hated) those deaths so much! They just made me cry like a baby xD

    ReplyDelete
  20. OMG that whole scene where Dean talks to dead Sam is so sad. This is another scene that no matter how many times I have seen it, my mind must know its coming and I start crying before it starts. Then once it actually is going on, I cry even more

    ReplyDelete
  21. I choosed Ellen and Jo. Was very, very sad. :/

    ReplyDelete
  22. I'll have to go with Ellen and Jo because, for now, their deaths have actually stuck. When someone dies and doesn't come back, it resonates, and shows there is actually a price to pay.

    ReplyDelete
  23. For me it has to be Ellen and Jo for a few reasons. Unlike if Sam or Dean die, I do not expect Ellen or Jo to return from the dead.Secondly, Ellen and Jo sacrificed themselves knowing death was assured to protect Sam and Dean. Lastly, their attempt to stall the hell hounds could have been accomplished by Jo alone, but Ellen wanted to die with the daughter she loves, or not live without her daughter despite all the fighting in recent months. When Sam or Dean die it feels like.." ok, how will they come back this time", but this just felt so permanent and I knew I would miss the characters!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Yeah there's not many shows where people just keep on coming back.......trouble is on other shows there's so many characters who should die and never do.........

    ReplyDelete
  25. That scene sticks in my mind because it was the first time it hit me just how great an actor Jensen Ackles is - I mean I knew it on one level, but that scene - wow.....and yeah - what Dahne said about allergies acting up ;P

    ReplyDelete
  26. Runner up:
Dean's death. It was shocking and painful to watch, but come on, we KNEW he wasn't going to stay dead. It was more of a jaw-dropping scene than an emotional scene for me.

    Winner:
Ellen and Jo. I may have cried..just a little.

    Honourable Mention:
Sam's death in AHBL. It was also shocking, and Dean's monologue was touching, but it was kind of the same case with Dean's death as in I watched it after I had seen some season 5 episodes...so there wasn't really any tension.

I don't know why but Swan Song didn't really do it for me. ...

    ReplyDelete
  27. Sucks when you know in advance don't it?
Although I have to say - I started my SPN journey at Jus in Bello so I knew Sam wasn't permanently dead - but I was still sucker punched when I saw it for the first time.....

    ReplyDelete
  28. I don't know why but Madison's death scene always makes me cringe. My only complaint to an otherwise good episode.

...does that make me a bad person? :P

    ReplyDelete
  29. Not a bad person - we know you're not :) maybe just a minority? ;P

    ReplyDelete
  30. not fair, my saddest death scene isn't listed. While I was sad and stuff for Dean's death in the season 3 finale, and very sad for Ellen/Jo's death...I have to say I was the most upset at Bela's death in season 3. She was my fave female, and I know she won't likely be brought back. Everyone else we knew (except ellen/jo) that were most likely coming back to the show, but since everyone hated Bela it's unlikely she isn't coming back, so her death bothers me the most.

    ReplyDelete
  31. You must have missed the nomination post at the beginning of the week - so did you vote for Ellen and Jo?

    ReplyDelete
  32. I liked Bella so you are not alone! I actually expected the character to last longer and was surprised they killed her off when and how they did. So it bothered me too.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Madison didn't effect me as much, but Dean kissing Jo on the forehead and Ellen choosing to stay with her gets me every time. I didn't know I cared so much about them.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I watched it in order, but I knew that Sam was going to be back too. They showed him in the preview for the next show. It was the scene before Dean heads to the crossroad that got me, even if I knew Sam was coming back.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Jus in Bello was a great episode to come in on. No wonder you stayed.

    ReplyDelete
  36. So very true. And then there are those times where the wrong characters die. (Cough - Grandpa Creepy)

    ReplyDelete
  37. I think part of it with Ellen and Jo is that most of the humans we see on SPN are hunters or possessed and they seemed to be almost more victims of circumstance. Caught up in it all, but not running away from it. Pretty much the most sympathetic humans

    ReplyDelete
  38. I think John's death was shocking because he made it through the car crash. Most people were predicting that he would die from the crash over that first hellatus, so when he made it through that I thought he was safe. The big difference for me is that I wanted John to die so I was cheering while the coffee cup danced. It was far more visceral for me than emotional.

    ReplyDelete
  39. All of them are really good death scenes, but I voted for Sam in AHBL. When I first watched it my eyes bulged and I was just a mess saying "no, no, no, no." over and over again. I just couldn't really believe it, and that it happened so fast. I don't really cry while I watch TV shows, but SPN miraculously pulls on my heart strings and then I'm tearing. lol

  40. We do nominations on Mondays and Tuesdays each week of the hiatus. Then we start voting on Wednesdays. (Dates are based on Midwest USA time). I hope you join us for nominations next week.

I liked Bela. She was far superior to Ruby in my opinion. But you are right - she is not coming back.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I think the worse part is that Dean had finally found Sam and Sam was going toward him when yikes - right through the back. They were so close and TPTB took it all away. Similar to season one when they got through the John possession and it looked like they were free, but then the truck came out of nowhere. These writers love making us feel safe and then pulling the rug right out from under us. That what makes it suck, but that's what makes it so, so good too.

    ReplyDelete
  42. When Sam died in Swan Song. (The music + the sacrifice) x the flashbacks = me crying my eyes out x')

    ReplyDelete
  43. OH GOD.....def Sam's Death in 'all hell breaks Loose.......Gutwrenching to watch, and kind of shocking to be honest......Dean's "i got ya....i got ya"....... :(((

And he died in his FREAKIN arms....How much more of a PUNCH is that......That was the first time one of them died and WOW.

Bobby telling Dean...that he needs to bury Sam and not let the world end :((

Dean's "LET IT END!!!......and then the emotional Monologue to Sammy <3 :(((

    Okay....having a Flashback here..........

    KRIPKE......YOU EMOTIONAL TERRORIST!!!!

    *goes off to sob*

  44. 'The big difference for me is that I wanted John to die so I was cheering while the coffee cup danced. It was far more visceral for me than emotional.'

    :O.........EVIL!!!!! :))

No.....you're right......but i didn't want him to die and i did......Look what he did to the BOYS!!!

    *hugs sam and dean*

    ReplyDelete
  45. 'so many characters who should die and never do.........'

    ROFL.....yeah......exactly this....... :)))

    <33

    ReplyDelete
  46. Yeah kinda.....but i think it'll never be cheap when Sam and Dean die....cause i'm emotionally invested in them 2 and the scenes when they lose each other....WOW.....just....WOW!!!

    Dahne <3333

  47. My journey started when the show did....but yeah......Sucker punched....Out for the count.....DING...DING...DING!!!!

  48. Tough touch between Sam in Swan Song and Sam in All Hell Breaks Loose, but I went with the latter, for sheer emotional impact. It was so completely unexpected, I actually just sat there after the episode finished and stared at a wall with tears trickling down my face.

    ReplyDelete
  49. For me...i think it was Sammy's crying....I love ya Sammy...but you are so not a pretty crier....And Dean stole the scene with his litle FLINCH <333

Yeah...i know...who is...But once you see Dean cry....I dunno....nothing else is acceptable to me LOL

    <333

    ReplyDelete
  50. Wow, I cannot believe there's almost a tie between Sam in AHBL and Ellen and Jo. I mean, ok, their death was emotional, but hello, we're talking about one of the brothers dying here, there should be no contest (especially that it was the very first time one of them actually died).

    ReplyDelete
  51. definitely Sam's death!omg, that scene was huge!so very emotional! Jensen totaly rocked it,well acted! still now when i see again the episode and the scene in particular my tears came down so easily......brotherly love...i know it's just a movie series, but those scenes make us,the Spn fans, love it more and more!

    ReplyDelete
  52. me 2 voted for Dean's death but Sam's is.....so emotional...like it's all real!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Agree. In Swan Song I just felt SOOOO PROUD of Sammy, I was ''happy'' that he suceeded, I wasn,t exactly sad the first time around (^^; the sadness came later in the summer)

But I really have to go for AHBL 1

    ReplyDelete
  54. For me, it's definitely Ellen and Jo. Their death moved me to tears. I'm in the minority of disliking Sam's death scene because it looks kind of stupid to me. I know it's supposed to be an hommage to 'Saving Private Ryan' but I find it cringeworthy everytime I watch the episode.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Sam in All Hell Breaks Loose..... No matter how many times i watch this i always cry :( its not Sam dying its Dean his reaction omg n part 2 when he talking to dean Sammy, made me love jensen ackles even more, wow what a episode

    ReplyDelete
  56. I cried my eyes out during the end of Heart and AHBL Part 1.. Because so many people voted for that one (which is absolutely fair!!!) I voted for Madison. And because I am one of the few who liked her with Sammy ;)

    ReplyDelete
  57. All of these are great choices, so it is hard to pick the best one. The most emotional one had to be in "Abandon All Hope" when Jo and Ellen died. I cried twice (both times the episode was aired). I think when Dean died at the end of season 3 was another emotional one. Weekend at Bobby's was rather gross with the wood chipper. But, really, all of the episodes are emotional one way or another, it just depends on what happens and what is presented to us as the boys continue their journey together fighting monsters.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I know the scenes with the boys was emotional, but I always knew they were going to come back....so as emotional as it was....I would just wait to see how they were going to bring the boys back. This is the reason why I voted for Jo and Ellen. They had been a huge part of the show for a while and they way they died was just heartbreaking. It wasn't like John's death where he said goodbye to the boys and then that was it....Jo was injured by the hellhounds and we had to watch Dean try to cope and deal with the situation at hand. (Jensen did an awesome job). Then we had Bobby on the 2-way trying to keep him focused. Next we have Ellen deciding to stay with Jo. And how Ellen was holding Jo after she passed and lit the fuse to save our boys. Honestly it involved soo many characters and was sooo emotional that I had to wait a little while before I could see that episode again. I own the box sets for seasons 1 thru 5 and I still have not seen that episode more than 3 times. I just cry my eyes out and feel emotional drained every time I see it.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I think it's because we are so far removed from these deaths. Now we expect people to die, especially the brothers, and it's beginning to be old hat. Ellen and Jo died but we don't expect them back and a lot of people are responding to that. Both scenes were very well done and touching.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Yep - definite minority. :-P I'm usually a shun the emotional scenes in Supernatural kind of viewer, but this one got to me too. Although Ellen and Jo got me also.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I wasn't a fan of Heart because it was too soap opera-ish for me, but I agree that it was sad that Sam felt he had to kill her. I did like that we didn't see Madison's actual death, but Dean reacting to it, because the gore would have lessened the emotion.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I'm hoping for a death hiatus right now. Not of monsters and PiP's but of important characters. Character death seems to be the go-to shocker and heart wrencher right now and I would like to open that up a bit. Well, except for the remaining CSA. They can go at any time.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Perhaps part of the appeal is that it was the longest death scene on Supernatural. Like you said, it comprised a lot of decisions, each one more painful than the last. This death honored the characters. I would say that it actually enhanced the character development. It's hard not to like Ellen and Jo after such a great death scene.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I'm really torn between All Hell Breaks Loose and Abandon All Hope. But I think that All Hell Breaks Loose gets more votes (Sam killed for the first time... And Dean's monologue after that... I thought I wouldn't survive all the tears), and, what's more, watching AHBL, I knew that although Sam dies, he will be back, somehow, because I've started watching SPN at the beginning of the season 5.
I chose Abandon All Hope, because I was tearing up all the time and their death (Jo and Ellen) was kind of surprising to me.

    ReplyDelete
  65. We definitely have two clear winners this time, regardless of the actual votes. It seems that the first brother death and the characters who did not come back again are going to blow the others away.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Yes, exactly. And Ellen and Jo were characters I really loved. I mean, hello, two badass monster-fighting women? I cried like a baby.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Yeah, Dean kinda raised the bar for 'manly crying' .....wish I could cry as beautifully as he does - you know - so I don't look like a red, blotchy, wheezing, snotty monster that could give any SPN monster a run for its money ........

    ReplyDelete
  68. It's still one of my all time favorite episodes - that first time I watched it and realised the good guys don't actually WIN on this show.........jaw dropping..... the good guys are always supposed to win...just not in the SPN 'verse......

    ReplyDelete
  69. Rochey's right - evil!!! ......but I can respect that - not a huge fan of John myself.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Haha......who needs to actually watch the ep when we've got you to re-enact it for us.....

    ReplyDelete
  71. I agree- I love how SPN doesn't flinch at gore, but also knows when not to go there.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Top one for me: Ellen & Jo. Just wrote a coda to that actually, I teared up writing it. And the fact that Ellen and Jo died so that Sam and Dean could kill Luce and then they COULDNT? Talk about the regret for letting it happen.

However, talking about characters who don't come back, John? His ghost does not count nor do the flashbacks. Jeffrey Dean's death in AAH struck something for me because it was the first episode of the second season. Who the heck was expecting him to die? It was like, WHAM! Also, the reason why. He saved Dean-o with his death. Oh Gods, why must Winchesters give up their souls to save each other? T_T

Also Madison in Heart. I did cry with Dean for Sam, how couldn't you? All the women Sam manages to get into a relationship with end up dying. Dean knew how much Sam liked her; it was probably just as hard to see Dean's reaction to Sam's killing her as to see Sam crying about it before hearing that gunshot. And Dean's FLINCH! Oh, boys....

Bobby's death had me shocked still. So much happened so quickly those last fifteen minutes of the episode that we didn't have time to mourn for Bobby, much like Dean in the episode.

Sammeh's deaths: AHBL definitely had me crying no doubt, it came in for second to me. And the monologue T_T OH DEEAAAAAN....But, just like Bobby knew, there was always that little thing in the back of my mind making me think that Dean would giving himself up and do something stupid to save Sam. Namely all of season 3 and his deal. But still, puppeh!Sam dying was much more heartwrenching than in Swan Song. Only reason for me was kinda like...necessary loss and stuff and it was the only way Sam would get over all the wrong he had done with Ruby.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Swan Song - I was sooo proud of Sammy for doing what he did.......
Just for a second there I really wondered if Luci would win but.....
YAY Sammy ......but....... poor Sammy.....poor beaten to a bloody pulp Dean.......poor broken Bobby.......poor.......SPLATTERED Cas........

    ReplyDelete
  74. Ellen and Jo. I've seen Abandon All Hope at least 6 times, and I've cried every time. The only other time that I've actually cried during SPN was when Pamela explained what her heaven was like in Dark Side Of The Moon. Because that's what my heaven would be like, if there was one.

    ReplyDelete
  75. true, but when Sam died for the first time we didn't know they would be dying over and over again after that. It was actually way more shocking to me than Ellen and Jo. It was a "did Sam just die? really?! what the hell?!" kind of reaction for me. And Dean holding him saying "I've got you, I'm gonna take care of you, that's my job" - just too heartbreaking. And then this death started a whole storyline. And come on, it was SAM, period.

    ReplyDelete
  76. The flashbacks were my favorite part. I loved how they showed us how the brother relationship progressed.

    ReplyDelete
  77. I'm glad you added that Ellen and Jo sacrificed themselves and it was all for naught. They couldn't kill Lucifer. I knew they couldn't because we weren't to the finale yet, but it was still so disheartening. It brought home the realities of hunting life - and life in general - sometimes it doesn't work out in the end. Sometimes really bad things happen and nothing good comes out of it. I was truly depressed at the end of this episode.

    ReplyDelete
  78. I miss Pamela and her lascivious ways. She was always good for a laugh.

    ReplyDelete
  79. I got no problem with it. I know I'm weird. Afterall I like Cassie. ;D

    ReplyDelete
  80. Now I am worried about your mental health. You liked Cassie? As what? Fencing material.

    ReplyDelete
  81. No ;D As a character. Lol Told ya, I'm strange but I'm cool with it.

    ReplyDelete
  82. I say Madison's death...it was a very solemn scene, and the music [which I don't really remember, except that it went with the scene well] and Sam, Dean and Madison's attitudes/emotions/w.e about what was going on.

    Ellen's and Jo's was pretty sad, too. D;

    ReplyDelete
  83. And the lucky woman got to grope Sam AND Dean ......I'm so jealous .......*shoves fangirl back in her cage*

    ReplyDelete
  84. Actually, the first time he (Sam) cries in No Rest For The Wicked as soon as the clock gongs midnight, he looks quite pretty there. It's when he's just outright sobbing is when it's not 'pretty' or what have you. It's more heartbreaking to me than anything because it's not like he's trying to make himself look good. He's just letting it all out. lol Typically when people are bawling their eyes out like that they aren't exactly pretty criers. Jensen's the exception I guess. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  85. Silent Lucidity by an amazing band called Queensryche. ^^ It was the perfect song for that scene. Absolutely broke my heart. ='(

    ReplyDelete
  86. For me it was a toss up between Sam's death in All Hell Breaks Loose and Dean's death in No Rest For The Wicked. Both of them were positively heartbreaking. Sam's was thoroughly unexpected and the way he went to his knees and just fell into his brother's arms...god and how Dean was clutching him screaming his name at the very end of the episode. I still cry every single time because I hate seeing Sammy die of course, but Dean's reaction and then Dean's monologue in the following episode. I still remember Jensen talking about how Kim had them close off that entire room with only one camera and Kim there and Jensen and Jared while Jared laid still on the mattress and held his breath and Jensen performed the scene...it was so immaculately done by both boys and Kim of course. It was beautiful because you could FEEL Dean's agony and heartbreak and then when he stood up and screamed "WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO!" the desperation just FILLED you.

As soon as the clock gongs midnight and Sam knows his brother is going to die when he turns toward Dean with tears in his eyes and then they just start streaming it just kills me. Dean's smile and his teary eyes and just...guh. Brothers! Why didn't you HUG!? Then Dean being ripped right off of that table by the hellhound and screaming out in agony and Sam crying out in the background for her to stop it and saying no over and over again and then after Lilith escapes the way he turns toward Dean and all the agony in his face, his little hitching breaths and his choked up voice and he's practically raining down over Dean as soon as he drops his head and the way he says his brother's name and omg just the sobbing...Yeah...I still have a really really hard time watching either of these scenes. Both of them make me cry every single time I see them. They're too heartwrenching. Anyway, it was very tough for me to chose.

I loved Heart. It's one of my favorite episodes to date. It still chokes me up. Sammy breaks my heart in that episode because he just looks so young and helpless, like he's pleading for Dean's help but he knows Dean can't help him, so he takes a breath and goes and does what has to be done. I won't deny that Swan Song had me bawling, but I felt so proud of Sammy and at the same time, my heart wanted to fall out of my stomach and crumble into little bitty pieces because I knew he was going to Hell. ;__; Sammy noooooo.

    Alrighty! So in the end, I picked Sam's death in AHBL because I really really had a hard time watching him die and watching Dean's reaction. I mean I had a hard time watching Dean die too and Sammy's reaction, but Sam's was just so emotionally powerful. So yes, Sam's death in AHBL for me. And WOW that was a big post! LOL Sorry! ^^;;;

  87. Ugh I hate choosing but top 5 are...
    5. John "In My Time of Dying"
    4. Dean "No Rest for the Wicked"
    3. Jo and Ellen "Abandon All Hope"
    2. Sam "All Hell Breaks Loose"
    1. Sam "Swan Song"

Swan Song because it was the end of a 5 year storyline, Kripke's bow out and the whole flashback of Sam & Dean growing up and on this journey then Sam jumped into the hole it was sad.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Oh Dahne....Love your recaps.......MORE....MORE....MORE!!!!!

Oh right...no more till January :(((

    *sulks*

    ReplyDelete
  89. Thanks. That's really nice. I will do recaps of older episodes through the hiatus. My plan is that when they show reruns that I haven't recapped I will do them. If it's an episode I have recapped I will choose an older episode I really liked. Plan on seeing What is and What Should Never Be sometime this hellatus because it is my favorite by far. There will not be a recap this week most likely though because I will be in middle of nowhere Illinois with my relatives celebrating Christmas.

    ReplyDelete
  90. There's two fore me. Ellen and Jo was really sad but so was Sam's death in All Hell Breaks Loose.... They both made me cry but I went with Jo and Ellen because they didn't come back. :(

    ReplyDelete
  91. I had a tough time choosing between Sam's death in All Hell Breaks Loose and Swan Song. In the end I did choose Sam's Death in All Hell Breaks Loose. The scene between Sam and Dean after Jake stabbed Sam was so powerful. Dean was holding Sam talking to him. Dean kept telling him everything was going to be okay he would take care of him that was his job to look out for his PIA little brother. I will say it again a very powerful moment. With Swan Song I felt that the look between Sam and Dean before Sam jumped into the cage was so moving. To me it was like a silent goodbye. Dean would not leave Sam's side. With AHBL it was the first death with the brothers so to me it was the most poignant.
