THAT WAS MY ALL TIME FAVORITE EPISODE! IT WAS LIKE THE JUSTICE LEAGUE EPISODE IN SEASON 6 BUT WITH DIFFERENT CHARACTERS EXCEPT FOR THE END! I actually shedded a tear that hawkman died.... so sad... i kinda figured that clark would send deathstroke to the phantom zone and im very happy they finally said deathstroke at the end! That is his name in the comics! I wish there was more Black Canary but at least shes in it fully the next episode! Great episode!! What was the pyramid thing!!?? the janurary episode looks awsome!! if only we didnt have to wait 1 month and 18 days!
But some of us knew Hawkman was going to die. He told Lois a few weeks ago that he belived he'd die soon; and TVGuide announced recently that this would be his final appearance on the show.
Seriously... If I had a series and needed an heroic death I think Michael Shanks would be my go to death scene actor. How many times has he died heroically or come back from death to save people heroically now? I wonder if it's in his contract rider. Needs Peanut M&M's, cold bottled Fiji water, TiVo'ed Hockey games.... and one heroic death scene.
Speaking of typecasting... I wonder if every role Michael Hogan will have after BSG will require an eye patch? They could have at least put it on the opposite eye ya know... Just to mix it up for a little variety.
He died heroically on Burn Notice and kinda returned from the dead prior to that heroic death. Mostly though I did mean on SG-1. He had to die 4 or 5 times just on the one season of SG-1. That's a lot of dying for any one actor to do that is not doing a "ground hog day" episode!
I still think of "Victor" just about every time I watch Burn Notice. The Good Guys appearance was recent (episode 1.18). He played the leader of "Stikeforce" who always showed up at just the right time to steal credit for major busts. To Dan's dismay Jack wants to join their squad.
Shanks was clean shaven and cheerful throughout the episode.
The only 2 things that pist me off was 1) They barely had stargirl do anything!!! I liked stargirl in absolute justice and all she did was use her staff to teleport oliver, carter, and herself away! And it wasnt even in her costume!! At the end she was finally but she didnt do anything either. I dont blame the actress i blame Geneieve and Mairzee the writer and director for doing nothing with her! What a waste..... 2) I think they took a little long like they did with john corben to name slade by his comic's name which is deathstroke. Im glad that slade finally said it. MAINLY EVERYTHING WAS AWSOME ESPECIALLY HAWKMAN! THEY TOTALLY RUINED STARGIRL FOR ME!
Just going by what I've seen. I can't think of any current villain who would have done it. The wavy yellow light that burst out of the pyramid reminded me of Dr. Fate, and it's been heavily alluded to that Chloe would be the new Dr. Fate, she even mentioned fate in her note to Lois. And it's be the perfect cliffhanger bait-and-switch to make us think our entire protagonist cast is in serious trouble only to reveal that it was Chloe's big comeback, since we know Chloe is making her return in the very next episode, so really my guess isn't all that far-fetched.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Oh My God.....ABSOLUTELY SUPERB
ReplyDeleteDefinitely exceeded my expectations.
Can't wait till Jan. 28th!

ReplyDeleteAnother heroic death for Michael Shanks. I'll miss him. One thing I hate about the holiday season is missing all my shows.

ReplyDeleteStill :'-(

ReplyDeleteNot counting Stargate? He didn't die in Good Guys or Supernatural.
ReplyDeleteMy guess is the pyramid thing had something to do with Chloe. But that's very much just a guess.

CHEERFUL? Wow! Not what I think of when I think Michael Shanks' characters.
ReplyDeleteMysterious, snarky, sarcastic, sardonic, cynical..... cheerful. One of these words is not like the others! LOL
ReplyDeleteOK, there was a little snark; but other than that he was downright chipper.
