  1. That was a different episode.... good , but different. Agent Ashley Seaver will be a welcome edition to the BAU if she does sign on as a cast regular. Already added something in one episode that JJ or Preentiss could not... she shook up the traditional dynamic and their comfort zone. Also she added a focus onto the victims that we do not normally see in episodes. Not to mention she is the first one to have an interesting back story on the team. Already have more of a connection to Seaver than Prentiss who has been on 5 years. Not as dark or twisted as some of the killers or other episodes, but it interested me to see her play on the killer's more familial feelings. Seemed more like a character introduction than a typical episode. I think because of the introductory elements and having to get into two heads instead of teh normal one, the episode was not awesome... maybe just very good.

  2. I agree Darq. It's only been one episode but I already wouldn't mind Seaver being a regular. Don't get me wrongn I loved Prentiss but I hated all the episodes that dealt with her backstory. Now Seaver drops one episode and I'm already interested. Also, and this is weird, but it's nice to see her cry. I feel like on crime shows there's this unspoken rule that women cops/agents can't cry. But that's not realstic. Everyone cries, especially women (don't hate on me, I am a woman.)

I also agree that Seaver shook up the dynamics. It's sort of nice to see the team not really sure what to do with her. Of course I don't really understand what's going to happen next week. I know she works the case but Hotch seemed pretty firm about her being done with the team at the end of the episode...

  3. And it was a fresh perspective as a viewer and for the team. We don't hear about the victims too often. They always act as if these women/girls/boys rescued from the kidnappers, killers and rapists will be A OK since they brought the home. Hearing about the criminal's family may be as close as we get to the victims post trauma, but at least it is something more.

  4. I wouldn't mind Seaver becoming a main character but I thought she was a trainee so how could she join the team? She doesn't carry a weapon. I thought it was really obvious when she went to the house alone, that he was the killer. Also, does anyone else think that she has a striking resemblance to JJ?

  5. Well Hotch said at one point that profilers aren't required to carry a weapon, and Reid didn't carry a gun for the first few episodes of season 1. So that's not really an issue. As for her being a trainee...I guess she's just getting promoted now. She can't stay a trainee forever.

I don' think she looks like JJ really, other than the fact that she's blonde. And her attitude/personality is different as well.
