Lie To Me - About to be Cancelled?

Dec 7, 2010

Fox has decided not to order the back 9 Episodes of Lie To Me. Is this a sign that it's soon to be cancelled?

  1. As if I needed ANOTHER reason to hate Fox. Damnit! It seems like all of my favorite shows are on the chopping block these days, and the shows I don't find entertaining at all continue to get more seasons.

  2. What is FOX thinking? LTM's numbers are consistent from week to week and are they really going to throw away the talents of Tim Roth and Kelli Williams? Just...no. I can't believe this.

  3. I'm not anymore worried than I was previously. I didn't expect a back 9. I think FOX will want to see how this show, as well as Human Target and Fringe preform through the rest of their seasons before they choose which one to renew. Chances are low for renewal, but not any more or less with or without this back order IMO.

  4. Eh, I don't think there's anything to be concerned about ;) : it was planned all along that House would be paired with Shawn Ryan's Chicago Code in 2011.

We've all seen FOX's schedule for 2011, there's just no room left for a Lie to Me back 9, that's not a surprise and that surely doesn't mean it's going to be cancelled in my opinion.

Last episode of LTM did especially great (its best ratings of the season for episode 3.08) considering there was a rerun of House right before. It's weak though, but still, I don't think Lie to Me fans should be worried.

Of all FOX shows that are in danger (Fringe, Human Target and Lie to Me), if one had to be cancelled, I think it might be Human Target, even though I'm not sure either of the other shows would do better wednesdays at 8. And if one had to be canned, I hope it will be Lie to Me (there are talented actors in this show, I agree with that, it's just too bad that it is too common).

  5. Pardon my French but this is a load of bollocks. I mean...why?!

  6. Just when the show started to be good again, after quite weak season 2...

  7. I'm sorry to be a bad apple in a good batch but I would be fine if the show got canceled because though in the beginning it had some good potential, now it lost its spark. None of the characters really change or undergone any kind of important development and the show's in its THIRD season. Lightman can be so unhinged and aggressive that I'm surprised none of the other characters haven't decided to quit or launched some kind of coup against him. In the beginning, I thought the show would be better than HOUSE but now it's just another version of HOUSE only he has a daughter and runs an entire organization.

  8. it's a very bad sign considering no back 9 = no new eps in the summer which was its strongest point i think Lie to Me, Fringe and Human Target will all be canceled

personally i have watched every single episode of Lie to Me but its probably my least favourite of the shows i watch so i really wont miss it much

Yes, probably. It's too bad. Season 3 has been the show's best. As "Smidnite" mentioned, I hope this means FOX is still open to giving Human Target another shot.

  11. Lie To Me's numbers ARE consistent from week to week. The problem is that they're consistently bad.

  12. At least there giving 2 and 3 season shots instead of 6 episodes and a quick burn off... it's improvement. To be honest, I'm having to push myself to watch LTM after season 2. It's just all been there done that.

  13. Does Lie to Me ever get a back nine? I thought it was a summer series with 13 episodes every season...I need to go do some research...

  14. Oh please! Season 3 s****d! The only reason Human Target has gotten so far is that the ladies love looking at the star, white guy.

  15. First, "sucked" doesn't need a censor and Human Target has a predominantly male demographic and I doubt most of them care what "the star, white guy" looks like.

  16. Season 2 had 22 episodes. They were split between the fall of '09 and this summer ('10).

  17. Hmmm what day did the fall episodes air?

  18. The show was paired with House on Mondays until mid-December '09.

  19. I don't think it's Fox's problem because if you look at FoxBroadcasting channel on You Tube they are fan of the show they show more videos of the show more than the other shows do and even do the same with posting promos.

It really has to do with the amount of people that watch it

  20. As a former fan, the show didn't impress me after S1 .....

  21. I think Lie to Me is a pretty good show. Though I'm not really a big fan and don't watch every episodes there are times when I manage to catch it and find it pretty interesting. Well, if that's the case, at least they had a pretty good run.

  22. I suppose 'bad' is subjective. 6+ million viewers an episode isn't CW bad. Ah, I'm not thinking clearly. I'm in mourning.
