Fringe Poll - Will There Be a Season 4?

28 Dec 2010

Hey Guys,

Hope you are all having a gravy Christmas Week and eating lots of great food! I am, and I'm sure Walter would be doing the same :P
As January looms and D-Day nearly dawns for Fringe, based on everything you've heard, seen, watched, read, thought, debated and cried over, do you think Fringe will be back in September 2011 for it's forth season. There is no 'maybe' option, as Walter would say (maybe) "Let's deal with certainties."

Enjoy your New Year, I am around as often as possible if you have any queries on anything :)
Also, I am aware I never posted the Reviewer Table with the updated 'Marionette' ratings, but it will be back fully updated after 'Firefly' airs. I promise :)

  2. To that one person so far that voted no...way to be confident..........not. Anyway. I voted yes. Obviously. There is so much story left to tell. I think we'll get a season four and five and maybe even a six. This show is too amazing to not live on and we fans will continue to watch. Fringe has fans not just viewers. :)

  3. Yes! I think so and I hope so.

My fringie heart has not other option.

  4. Why not ?! Fringe is the best show on TV, it HAS to have a season 4

    ReplyDelete
  5. Yes, otherwise I'm gonna be very sad.

    ReplyDelete
  6. ABSOLUTELY 100 % POSITIVE !!!!!!! GO FRINGE SEASON 4 !!!!!!!

  7. Yes. I love Fringe and that's exactly what it teaches to us: nothing is impossible.

  8. Sadly, I think that Fringe has a very little chance to be renewed for a Season 4, and that's why I voted No, but of course I hope i will be proven wrong in May.

  9. I voted with my heart, not my head, so I voted yes, but I think it will be a near thing.

  11. hey if the painfully disastrous Heroes got 4 seasons then Fringe needs at least season 4.

c'mon, I dont wanna go to some parallel universe AGAIN to get a cancelled show's new seasons..
(spoiler: Prison Break season 6 is about Michael breaking his kid out of school so that they can go watch a baseball game ;) )

  12. Yes, because I believe that Season 3 has been its best so far and it has much more to offer.

  13. I voted yes, just started watching Fringe. Watched all the episodes in a week. Hope it keeps going. And a big thanks to the girl sitting next to me at Gate to the Sanctuary Convention in Melbourne, yes you were right Fringe is awesome!

  14. I voted yes, Fringe is by far one of the best shows on TV as it always keeps you guessing and thinking in a way that hardly any other shows do. I feel although there has been the schedule move NBC are still invested in it and will give it another season even if it's a final season.

  15. LOL I am a PB fan too! But i didn't know about the AU version...Cool!
About Fringe I voted with my heart too, so Yes.

  16. I'm sorry but shows that ruin characters just to give the leading female (a horrible one at that) more attention and sympathy does not deserve to be renewed.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I think that you don't watch Fringe ...

    ReplyDelete
  18. Actually I do watch fringe, thankyouverymuch. Everyone is blaming Peter for eveyrthing that happened that stupid little bitch and I am sick of it. Frankly, the show should just get rid of Peter cause people are sooooo mad at him and his character is ruined. Now, I think the show should get cancelled for the way Peter is being treated.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Producers can do what they want ... But I think that not all is going to be bad for Peter in the future!
I know that if you like Peter is difficult for you but there's always things that we don't like.
I hope you keep watching the show

    ReplyDelete
  20. Oh dear lord, she's back.

    ReplyDelete
  21. The show hasn't ruined any characters at all. Anna Torv is awesome. You are just plain wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  22. They better not get rid of Peter. I think he seems the most sane of all the characters, and without him Walter would be in a lot of trouble. I don't what you mean about the way Peter is being treated. The whole "ancient device" story revolves around him, he is getting on better terms with Walter, and he has a sort of romantic story with Olivia. I think his character is great right now. It would be stupid to cancel a show because of how one character was treated anyway.

  23. Party pooper.

  24. "exactly what it teaches to us: nothing is impossible."

    - that, and milkshake are delicious when you are high.

  25. YES!! NOTHING SAYS EXCITEMENT LIKE ALL CAPS!!!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Me too.

C'mon Fox. Renew Fringe. If not, our tears will be in your hands.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I wish being the best show was enough, but the greedy networks care more about what makes them the most money. Unfortunately garbage like American Idol costs a lot less to make and makes them a lot more money. It's no mystery that the colossal joke that is American Idol is the real reason they moved the brilliant Fringe to Fridays. It is total BS.

    ReplyDelete
  28. You're too kind, it's not a "she", it's an "it".

Don't you get tired of copy-pasting the same BS everywhere, GleeBee?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Man oh Man... i really hope it gets renewed!! this show is far better than some shows which will definitely get renewed!!

    ReplyDelete
  30. As of now, NO.
But you know every fiber of my being says YES.
I think it's TONS more likely than any other show left to Friday, but it's got so much stacked against it, I'm hesitant to declare one way or the other.

    ReplyDelete
  31. If'n you gotta be high to think milkshakes are delicious, you're doing it wrong. :)

  32. Of course there will be a season 4 of Fringe. The reason being that i absolutely believe that those people who absolutely love and adore this show and are addicted and obsessed by it WILL follow it to Friday nights on FOX. FOX want an audience share from a show that already has a rabid fanbase....Fringe is it! And i have every confidence in Jeff Pinkers and Joel Wymans words....they have told Fringe fans that they know FOX is behind them. Im sticking with these guys. They helped to create my ALL time favourite show. I believe in them....and i believe in the Fringe fandom out there. And by fandom i mean the dedicated fans all over the world. Those who voted no may not be Fringe watchers or indeed true Fringe fans. But believe me when i say.....there will be a season 4 and 5 and 6.

    ReplyDelete
  33. In order to propell the story line further any quality show has to continue character development. And that is what the writers of Fringe have done. Anna Torv has been awesome this season.....she has had to play at least 4 different versions of the one character....and now we have a deeper understanding of Olivia. The fact that i love Olivia and loathe Altliv is down to Anna's pure brilliance and acting ability. Our 3 main leads will ALLl have their chance at coming in for closer scrutiny. Next it is Peters turn and then towards the end of this season i suspect it will be Walters turn. If you dont like Fringe then simply dont watch it......and if you want negative comments as replies then keep writing them.......success achieved! Which is what i think you wanted all along!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Are you serious? I am a huge fan of Peter's (as my email name would suggest)....and i have loved every second of the current story line. And i have cried so much for Peter ...and Olivia. Believe it or not...the writers (and even John Noble) have said that 'the key to this whole story IS Peter'. So why would they get rid of him? Most true Fringe fans have gone along for the ride because this story line is going to be a big payoff for Fringe fans.......and dont forget it was because of Fringe fans that the writers put Peter and Olivia together...it just happened to be the wrong one. That caused me great heartache but it is an amazing storyline. Its all about the story line, character development, building of the mythology and about the choices we make and about personal growth. As a fan of Peter's...if you cant see this then you shouldnt be watching the show. I LOVE Peter......and i am still a rabid fan of this show. I can see where this story line is taking him.....i have patience.

  35. You have to take note that the poll says WILL there be a season 4, not do you WANT there to be a season 4. I think the show is great, and at it's peak as well, with season 3 being the best stuff so far. However, the quality of the show and the ratings are at best loosely related. The ratings have not been good enough, and if they stay where they've been all fall for the remainder of season 3, I doubt the show will escape cancelation. Which will suck, because I really enjoy the show.

    ReplyDelete
  36. When fox says they are "behind them", past experience as a viewer observing the behavior of all the networks that have said similar things about critically acclaimed but ratings challenged shows in past seasons tells us that it doesn't mean anything. It's just talk, and they're still likely to cancel the show if the numbers don't cut it, regardless of anything their PR may have said that might be construed as a promise. I don't think maintaining its current ratings after the move to Friday nights will be enough, I think Fringe has to increase its ratings before the end of season 3 in order to survive into a 4th season. I hope it does, but I'm not optimistic. It sucks, but that's the way the TV networks operate.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Well....FOX appears to believe this show.......so.......YES!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Yep, shit happens.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Jon believe me i know that networks sometimes promise the world and deliver nothing. But in this instance...i am prepared to believe. I know what Fringe fans have done to get this show to continue on.....and i know what they are going to do to support this show into the future. I will do whatever it takes to have Fringe continue on......and having confidence that there will be a season 4, 5 and 6 is the first step.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Oh no doubt that American Idol is the reason Fringe got moved. But I'm also thinking it's American Idol's last season (fingers crossed) considering they pretty much lost all the original judges so maybe they are just trying to take it out with a bang. I seriously don't know how that show is still going... It does seem that Fox is behind Fringe though just not as much as AI I guess so I'm going to remain optimistic.

    ReplyDelete
  41. YES! It looks like the network is behind it so I'm going to remain optimistic! It's too good of a show to end before it's time!

    ReplyDelete
  42. What if they made Joshua Jackson the female lead? Would that make you happy?

    ReplyDelete
  43. In one universe, Yes, in another No... The question really is, which universe are we in?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Nobody is blaming Peter for EVERYTHING that happened to Olivia.
You seem a bit dense to me to make an assumption like that. No one's character is "ruined' and Anna Torv is one hell of an actress "thankyouverymuch" as you'd say.

    Consider your inane comment ignored.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I voted NO because I don't believe they will renew it. I am big fan of Fringe. I love the whole story but I can’t stand all this stuff about Peter and Olivia’s relationship. As well ratings are very bad. And moving show to Friday will just make it worse.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Wow, it's almost 50/50. I hope the people who voted NO are still going to watch the series on fridays (or actually watch the series to begin with).

    ReplyDelete
  47. I cannot believe that there are Fringe fans who have voted NO in this poll! Where is your loyalty...your belief in this show? I sincerely hope you all watch it on Friday the 21st January.....FOX Fringe Fridays is going to be awesome....starting with Firefly! You really need to show your support for the show you profess to love. Also, you should show your support by becoming a part of the Fringe Movement campaign to keep Fringe going.....instead of voting NO! Yes...i am a cheesed!

    ReplyDelete
  48. It has nothing to do with loyalty or belief in the show. I'm sure everyone who bothered to vote in this poll is a fan, and will follow the show to Friday and watch every single episode. However, that's not relevant to the question the poll is asking. It has to do with past observations about how networks operate.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I love the show, but I think its a bad sign that the ep is called "firefly" given the fact fox cancelled a great show with same name..... Lol irony, death Fridays

    ReplyDelete
  50. I voted yes because I'm really hoping it will be back. I know how networks often work too. How they too often work. Let's just hope they'll do the right thing this this time and keep Fringe on.

  52. I'm planning to watch Fringe in January, mainly because Supernatural has been very disappointing and I figure watching something I might enjoy beats watching a show that keeps me wondering why I'm bothering. So I do hope it makes it for an new season.

If it's as complex and interesting as the fans say, I may have found new entertainment.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I voted no and I daresay I am at least as loyal to Fringe as yourself. The question is "will it" not "Should it"...with the way the ratings are going, along with a slew of other negative incidents and the move to Fridays, I just don't see it happening. Of COURSE I want it to happen SOOOO much, but you are about to start an argument and question other people's loyalty because you decidedly vote sans logic or reality of how things stand...I just can't get behind that kind of mentality.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Supernatural has been hit-or-miss for me (Caged Heat and Family Matters was like a BAZOOKA for the hits...but the fairy episode and the third man episode were awful, the standalones are ok, but nothing spectacular...) but Fringe has been on top of its game allllll season, and is only getting better. We shall see how they do against each other. (Oh how I hate that...)

    ReplyDelete
  55. Ugh. I see you're back. I'm sure you'd think differently if Joshua Jackson was the female lead. And, dear god, why watch the show if you just hate everything (but Josh) so much?

    ReplyDelete
  56. 58% NO?? That surprised me.. Made my heart skip a beat actually. We just have to remain confident and believe :)

    ReplyDelete
  57. wat is this this?? 50.1% voted for NO..??? and 49.6 % for yes....wats wrong with you guys??? cumon.....we all want this show .............get a life losers

    ReplyDelete
  58. Vote yes. Don't lose faith. The next few weeks will make it or break it. There's only one show like Fringe. If it goes there will probably never be another one even close to it. I know this poll won't be the deciding factor but it won't look good if the No votes come out ahead.

  59. Praise Walter,Olive,Peter & the Observers and allow both universes in peace if cancelled.Have Charlie surprise our side with a visit, and possible a permanent role here offered by Broyles...

    ReplyDelete
  60. Praise Walter,Olivia,Peter & the "Observers" for their amazing story and contributions.Hope This show stays at least as long as "The X-Files" >:P and makes it to a Sunday night spot eventually, and maybe even a visit form Charlie, or a permanent role for him on our side offered by Broyles...admit it, we missed our Charlie and thought he was done. Anyway, besides simply watching the show, DVR'ing the show, watching on HULU,FOX,DVD & iTunes sales are what Fox looks for.Keep watching, or just let your Hulu account run on "Fringe even when you're not watching just to prove your dedication...it makes numbers folks. LONG LIVE WHAT COULD TURN OUT TO BE A MOVIE FRANCHISE!! May Massive Dynamic live strong... : LOCUSTNET outt!
