Peter is too happy here. He needs to be devastated & depressed because his heart is broken.
ReplyDeletewell, its quite clear that the TPTB don't have much faith in Josh's acting abilites and clearly wants Anna Torv to be getting all the emmy buzz so they asked Josh to be happy.
ReplyDeleteor this is just a bit from the episode where he just woke up and is thinking more about his father drugging himself then the mess that is his relationship with the woman he cares about, but royally screwed up with etc. etc.

ReplyDeleteYes, Peter should be completely depressed and crying on Walter's shoulder about his lost love. Come on, people! This is not a soap opera. Peter can be heartbroken because of Olivia and not whine or mope all the time. He's talking to Walter in a funny situation here. Can he behave like a person and not like our idea, of what a heartbroken man is?
I know its Michael Giacchino, but when I hear this music I think of Hugo 'Hurley' Reyes!

ReplyDeleteThink about it. The reason Peter is still up could be because he is thinking about things with Olivia. I'm sure he is still heartbroken, but he just walked downstairs to find Walter pulling his pants down about to inject himself with what definitely looks like an experimental drug. That would distract anyone. This is a little 1:12 minute clip of a 45 minute episode. It very likely does not reflect how he's feeling for most of the next episode and definitely does not reflect anything he's feeling with Olivia.

ReplyDeleteLet Peter be happy for a while. Fringe is not just about Peter and Olivia's screwed up relationship. You can't expect him to cry on Walter's shoulder all the time.
Gotta love Walter. I wonder how much time passed between Marionette and Firefly!
ReplyDeleteThat's because it is. This is one of his tracks from LOST -- he obviously hasn't scored this episode yet and they needed to use a subtle yet humorous song. Not uncommon for sneak peaks this far in advance.

ReplyDeleteAnd really, we get it, you like Peter and hate Olivia or something. Message received. No need to keep the klaxon blaring.
Ok, to me it looks like Peter is trying to keep his depression hidden so he's appearing happy in front of Walter. Like, I mean it doesn't look like he's about to jump up and down laughing anytime soon, you can see the pain in his eyes, one thing Josh is amazing at. And besides, it's a quite humorous scene, not everyday your father is pulling down his pants in the kitchen about to stick himself with a needle, though this is Walter we're talking about. And it's only a minute out of the episode, I doubt Peter is going to be happy - or hiding his discontent throughout the whole thing. Especially with what happens in this episode.
