Looks good, but how many alien-invasion shows/movies can we have? It's not really like V, but the idea of foreign enemies and resistance has been done so many times. I'll give it a shot nonetheless.
I agree with Dan that there are so many alien shows/movies out now but its my favorite genre when scifi meets drama :D it makes really good shows, this looks pretty impressive for a television series so I will be checking this out :D hopefully it has great character development and relationships involved and It could become a awesome new series
Looks cool. Unfortunately I'm not sure how long they can run the series. I'll wait til it comes out on tunes and buy the whole lot. HEAR THAT NIELSEN!!!!! You pansy. Isn't that guy fired yet?
And stop showing me these cute shoes in the advertisement to the right of me... I'm tempted enough as it is. STOP IT!!!! At least wail until I retire and can wear civilian clothes to work. -.-
Well it certainly has good pedigree doesn't it? The Pacific, Band of Brothers, Taken (The Epic Mini-series - not the Liam Neeson film). I have read some scathing reviews from Comic-con where they showed the trailer and other sites, but I am sure there has been a lot of tweaking since June. Plus honestly many of the reviewers said it had a TV series feel to it or FX like Stargate series... to them very bd things, but to me I can deal with that as long as the plot is good. No reason to believe the story telling wil lbe anything but superb since it is a s Spielberg production!
I would not bet against it. It may not be a top ratings hit due to the SciFi genre, but almost all of Spielberg's TV projects are amazing. If it is as good as his last alien visitation/invasion TV project was it will be very good indeed.
Looks like a much better version of V, the only thing I'm not liking the look of, is we've got the compulsary 'kid' in it. Let's hope he gets wasted a few episodes in.
Dakota Fanning was SCARY good in that! and it was the first time we got to see Joel Gretsch involved in some alien conspiracy on TV... He seems to be the go to male lead for shows of the genre. Taken, The 44oo and now V.If the first season of Falling skies was not already filmed I would expect Joel to turn up in that one too! lol
Yeah honestly the trailer does not move me either... too many edits and not enough about the plot despite the fact I know the general outline from a different article and the trailer itself. One possible good sign.... they finished primary shooting for the first season (according to what I read somewhere months ago) and are doing the post production special effects now. So they will have almost a year to tweak the SFX and tweak anything else they want with re-shoots.... also means we should get a full first season. If what I read was true. Plus, it is going to be on TNT which does not cancel quickly like network TV, and even if they do decide to cancel they run out a full season trying to end it properly. Case in point, Saving Grace was already cancelled for I think more than 6 or 7 months when they played the final half season. So they knew going into the finale post production it was ending and had time to give it a decent goodbye. So I have hope!
I don't mind her, but she does seem to be the kiss of death for a series when she is a regular in it! First Daybreak and then Journeyman, Let's hope Falling Skies lasts longer than those two combined (26 episodes)..... or as you said she gets killed off as to avoid early cancellation from the TPTB.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Okay....This looks REALLY good! I cannot wait for this!

ReplyDeleteLooks really good. I'm a Noah Wyle fan, he's really strong as an actor, can see him carrying this well.
ReplyDeleteIt is more Alien stuff, V, The Event etc. etc, but it has more scope in the trailer than I saw in either of the other two I've mentioned...
I see badass girls with guns, therefore I will be checking this out.

ReplyDeleteEpic. EPIC. EPIC!!!
ReplyDeleteMmm the player doesn't work with me. Am I the only one experiencing the problem?
ReplyDeleteI have Opera 11.00 by the way.
Take that, "The Event" (plot) and "V"(vfx)

ReplyDeleteThanks, looks great.
ReplyDelete"Taken" still remains my favourite TV show ever.

ReplyDeleteOh, Spielberg is behind it? Then I might give it a shot. I had no idea lol. But I hope the show turns out to be good because IMO the trailer is bad.

ReplyDeleteCan tell anyone what actor says at 1:25 please?
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to hear to me :(
So, no one on SpoileTV?
ReplyDelete"These things can be hit, and they can be hit hard"
ReplyDeleteOr that's what I heard anyway! :D
