I'd be happy. Dexter needs to get caught sometime. I think that would be a perfect way for the series to end. With this season finale's cliffhanger having Dexter be found out by Debra. And next season, Debra is conflicted about what to do. Through the next season, Dexter is killing off bad guys and Debra can't figure out what is more important. Her loyalty to family or to the force and the law. In the series finale, if Dexter were to get caught, I doubt he would kill himself. Just not him. He might surrender, he almost did that with Doakes. I think one perfect ending would be for Dexter to be taken into custody by his sister and having to be walked through the PD with all his colleagues and "friends" in utter horror of what Dexter has done.
Apparently they're looking for two more seasons. Only reason they didn't renew it again for two upfront was because cast contracts need to be renegotiated at the end of season six... so I doubt that'll happen next year.
But I agree, would be a great way for the show to end. Though, I'm not sure Debs would ever hands Dexter in. She wouldn't allow him to continue, for sure, but to be the one that puts him away? Not sure.
Debra found Jordan trying to kill Lumen and that's why she is so shocked. And Dexter is propably regreting that he didn't protect Lumen enough. My guess of course.
After watching this promo, I'm pretty sure that Debra will not find out about Dexter. The scene in the promo is fake. They just want us to think that this is what's gonna happen, so we are surprised when Dexter's secret will still be a secret after the season ends. I also think that Deb's reaction would be different from what we've seen in the promo.
lool And thats not what I meant. I meant that it sucks cause they showed us in the promo that he gets cought... So either we are not surprised when he gets cought or we are pissed cause they messed with us :P
If you look closely when Jordan has Lumen tied to the pole. He leans down and behind him there is a staircase. When Dexter is in the room with the knife, and Deb says 'don't move' you can see the railing to the staircase behind her. It seems to be a similar room. Although Quinn got the blood on his shoe, so maybe that indicated Quinn being blamed for Liddy's murder or remember the blood dripping onto Rita's dress? Could be foreshadowing. I agree though they wouldn't give away the biggest twist in the promo. If Deb finds out, it won't be so shocking because its been leading up to it, I think It's what happens after that scene that shocks us.
Even though I agree that the promo is misleading, vis-à-vis Deb catching Dexter, I do believe that Deb (or at least Quinn) will find out about Dexter and his "dark passenger." Furthermore, I don't really believe it's supposed to be a big surprise. This is something the show has been bracing the audience (and Debra) for throughout most of the season. They even changed the name of the final episode to "The Big One" from "Through A Glass, Darkly."
This reveal is set up as something we're supposed to anticipate, not something that takes us by surprise.
I watched the promo... no idea what the fuss is about. Not sure if we all watch the same promos or not but they do this fake-out at least every other episode.
I think Quinn is going to get framed for Liddy. Blood on his shoe. He was also gone during the time of Liddy's death. I think in a last ditch attempt he may be going to find the pictures to prove his innocence or he strikes a deal with Dexter.
The Big One may be in reference to Harrisons birthday. They are trying to steer us to believe dexters secret will be revealed. I think Quinn may find out and possibly be framed for Liddy's murder. Thus, any story he comes up with is dissproven.
I agree. She is in Quinn's apartment. Dexter also looks like he is tied up. Probably he flip the car and Jordan found him and locked him up. The gun scene with him is probably pointed at Dexter. Also that is clearly Quinn in for questioning in the middle of the video.
Quinn may be implicated in Liddy's murder, but I don't think anyone will actively attempt to frame him. If anything, I have a feeling that Dexter, after overhearing the phone call with Liddy and listening to how Debra feels about him, may end up trying to exonerate Quinn early next season if he's charged with murder.
I guess I should have used a different word. I don't think Dexter will frame him I just think a lot of suspicion will be drawn on him. He has blood on his shoe and was gone during Liddy's death. He is going to become a suspect for sure. I think Dexter will help him out though.
While the trailer is clearly and edit, that's not to say she won't find something out about Dex. Deb has to find out something by now, The writers have been teasing us with it EVERY season finale.
Season 1: When Dexter and Brian are in the room while Deb is tied up, if she wakes up she'll know... Season 2: Dexter seriously contemplating revealing he is the bay harbor butcher to Deb. Season 3: Deb begins to get suspicious of Harry and the C.I. files of Laura Mossa crop up Season 4: Deb finds out the ice truck killer is Dexter's brother and they're mother was murdered Season 5: ........................
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Well the end of the preview is either a brilliant fake out or the biggest spoiler for the season's big end twist.
ReplyDeleteI Know right! There is no way this can make fans happy. Either its bullshit and we are pissed or we get the end already and it sucks a little...
ReplyDeleteBUT STILL WO AWESOME

ReplyDeleteoh my days.

at 0:41 you can see an extra hand with its hand up. I don't think he dropped it cause of deb...

ReplyDeleteit could be lumen's hand.
ReplyDeleteIt's a fake out, just like the other few hundreds times when we were lead to believe, by a Promo, that Dexter was going to be caught.
ReplyDeleteAfter watching this promo, I'm pretty sure that Debra will not find out about Dexter.

Have a look here guys

it's a little sketch I did up to prove it's not deb holding a gun up to dexter.
I think it is deb holding it up to quinn because she found out about his prints on liddys car and the blood on his shoe.
Series Finale? WHAT???

I think Deb is talking to Quinn and not Dexter. Something is telling me that he is going to take the fall for Dexter to prove his love for her.
