The idea seems to be that The Cape and Orwell will fight week for week together, but I don't see any romantic relation. The Cape has to be the honest husband and father. I am curious how the writers will do the Orwell-Cape relationship.
ReplyDeleteJudging from the trailers, Orwell will be more a partner than a side-kick. It looks like the writers have added a touch of humour to their relationship.

ReplyDeleteI sense a superman/Lois lane vibe thing going with Vince and Orwell. This sounds great I'm looking forward to this so much.
ReplyDeleteDid you notice that Anil Kumar from "24" season four is listed in the cast ?
ReplyDeleteKumar's characters name is called Ruvi and reported as he is part of Max Malini’s gang. In the pilot he will be teaching Vince Faraday a bit about mentalism/hypnotism.
Vince Faraday aka The Cape is married. And not only that, but reuniting with his family is his main motivator for doing what he's doing. So no Vince/Orwell romance will be there. Doesn't mean the characters can't have chemistry, Summer has chemistry with pretty much everyone. It just won't be the romantic kind.

ReplyDeleteHem, it should be Izabella Miko (with an "o") and not Izabella Mike.
Just sayin'
Having a two hours pilot (or two episodes successively in this case) is a good thing to really grab people and move the story forward enough.
ReplyDeleteBecause the writers need to set the show up ( the characters and the showing up of the Cape) before things actually start getting interesting.
And we get the chance to see Orwell and the Cape fighting together on the second episode :)
ReplyDeleteYes, looking forward to The Cape as well. I’m hoping it does not wander into the “hero full of angst” realm, and that we don’t have to suffer the indignity of a mystical or magical component. Plus yes, it’ll be good to watch Summer stretch her acting bounds. I guess there are positives and negatives with being typecast, so I’m interested in seeing her in something other than I-can-kill-anything roles.
ReplyDeleteI want to see Summer kick some ass - like in the trailer - then I'm a dedicated viewer. Hell, it's got Summer so I'll be there each week whatever the quality of the show :). The only thing worrying me is just how long they'll drag the "proving his innocence" on for. Burn Notice has gone on+on+on about "getting back at those who burned him and those who ordered them to burnhim and those behind those who order those to burn him... blah blah blah. If he can get exhonerated and then proceed to fight baddies each week, then we might just have a yay series on our hands
ReplyDeleteI’m glad to see Summer Glau still getting work (though I secretly hope they are planning a mini-movie finale to tie off that really great Sarah Connor Chronicles cliffhanger), and The Cape DOES sound tempting… It could be a light-hearted take on the superhero drama, so as long as they make engaging characters like in Chuck, it could be a hit!
