My fave is going to be Orwell too. Orwell is a hot chick who is also really cool. She looks beautiful; she has cool stuff like a Tesla and an invisible keyboard; she is versatile in that she can adopt many disguises; and she's got a knockout body that can do acrobatics.
She hardly qualifies as a side-kick (as in "No Ordinary Family" for example) in my opinion . She's is a partner in my eyes, just like Vince Faraday said.
There is no supernatural element in The Cape. But you have to remember that the show is comic-book inspired. The villains are just "freaks of nature" like The Penguin in Batman for example. Here's what the show's creator said about another upcoming freakish foe : "He’s called The Lich and has a problem keeping his skin from rotting, so he has the appearance of a corpse." Well, Zombies are big on TV at the moment :)
LOVE the expression Summer Glau has in the “dry cleaner” scene : the inquisitive one asking where the cape is, and after she has been answered, I am not entirely sure how to describe it, slightly naughty maybe (a little like: me likes, me wants) :-) while still looking like Orwell thinks to herself: that was funny.
I doubt her means of support is her blogging activity. We've previously learned that she belongs to a crime family (won't tell more) but decided to fight crime; i suppose this is where her wealth comes from.
What drew me at first was that James Frain was going to be a series regular on the show, but after watching the trailer and reading some blogs I’ve really become interested in the show for itself. Looking forward to it.
That was exactly what I was thinking. Summer was a “Firefly” fan favorite but she didn’t steal “Firefly,” in part because it had such an excellent cast and terrific writing for all of its main characters. Even though she will be second billed on “The Cape” I expect that Summer will eventually be the star of the show.
It’s got Summer in it….so I’ll be watching. The cape gimmick might work if the writers can spin a tale around it without making the hero all dopey & one dimensional. Don’t make the whole show about revenge–getting back at those who set him up & ruined his good name. That’s the oldest plot there is He needs to fight evil despite the odds & clear his name by doing good deeds like The Lone Ranger did. Leave a clue as to his real identity. It’s a course that will win fans & create a legend.
I'll give it a shot, since if a show looks semi-interesting I give it around a 1/2 season before I pass my personal judgement. I think it has potential, but it depends on how they deliver it.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Here are the "FULL VERSIONS" in HD, Enjoy!

The bad guys are not quite human. What is James Frain character? Looks like some kind of cat.
ReplyDeleteHow come you are posting them where they are exactly the same as the ones I have posted
ReplyDeleteThanks you for posting this Nardia!
ReplyDeleteI think i'm in love with Summer Glau;)
Will I see they can finally be bothered to show Summer Glau In Promos. And they are going to use a bit of
ReplyDeleteass kicking Summer In the show.
I like the Ooh La La part!
ReplyDeleteSome were wondering which character would be the fans favourite. Now we know it's gonna be Orwell without a doubt!
ReplyDeleteWell i knew it myself but this new promo trailer is the proof i was looking for.
The more people who see this Promo, the more people will fall in love with her.
ReplyDeleteMy fave is going to be Orwell too.

Now it becomes clearer what Summer's role as Orwell is. And the more we see her, the better.
ReplyDeleteSummer Glau is so cute and such an amazing actress.
Orwell: "By the way, where's your cape?"
ReplyDeleteVince: "... dry-cleaners."
^ lol
And I must say, Summer looks amazing!
Saying Summer looks amazing would be a *huge* understatement.
ReplyDeleteWOW!!
Summer Glau standing has (at least) two kick-ass cars. Blog business must be very lucrative.
ReplyDeleteAwesome Promos…
ReplyDelete"The Cape" looks like being one of the most ‘fun’ new shows of recent times.
I don't think I've been this excited to watch a new show since Chuck began in 2007. The Cape is gonna rock TV's socks off! :)
ReplyDeleteHmm, looks like NBC is advertising Summer as being perhaps the next hot female lead. Not bad!
ReplyDeleteShe hardly qualifies as a side-kick (as in "No Ordinary Family" for example) in my opinion . She's is a partner in my eyes, just like Vince Faraday said.

ReplyDeleteI predict Summer Glau will steal the show, like she did with TSCC;
ReplyDeleteI doubt her means of support is her blogging activity.

Let’s be honest here. Many of us are only watching because of Summer Glau. I know that’s the only reason I’m gonna tune in.
ReplyDeleteSummer Glau is not the only reason I'll be tuning in.
ReplyDeleteOK, maybe the MAIN reason, but not the only reason.

ReplyDeleteDAMN I can't wait!
