Would you like to see a 24 movie?
Filmmaker Tony Scott (whose range of slick, pop-infused hits include “Top Gun”, “Days of Thunder”, “True Romance” and “Crimson Tide”) may end up directing the feature film adaptation of TVs “24″.
Billy Ray (“Shattered Glass”) had been hired to write the screenplay for the film, but according to producer Howard Gordon, speaking to Assignmentx, Ray’s script wasn’t “wasn’t the right proposition. It wasn’t strong enough or compelling enough to the studio obviously to move ahead with it.”
Gordon said he’s heard that “Top Gun” director Scott may wish to bark orders at Kiefer Sutherland on a “24″ movie.
”The movie is something that right now I’m not engaged or involved in. The rumors are that [director] Tony Scott has an idea that he is going to run it by or has run it by Kiefer Sutherland. I don’t know what the status of it is.”

Tony Scott + 24 Movie sounds pretty much perfect to me. Just add 1 more 24 & movie buff to the mix behind the scenes from South Shields and it's a guaranteed hit! (I mean me, Tony!)
ReplyDeleteI honestly cannot wait for this to come out!! As a MASSIVE 24 fan, I just hope it's as good as the show....But with Tony Scott at the helm, I think it is!
ReplyDelete24 - Epilogue - “Chloe’s Arrest” from 24 Season 8 Blu-Ray and the Complete Series bonus disc. It was written by Howard Gordon, directed by Michael Klick: http://www.24spoilers.com/2010/12/14/chloes-arrest-24-season8-special-feature/
ReplyDeleteI want it! If they can make it good HAHHA of course
ReplyDelete2 hours of 24 won't be enough for me but I'll take whatever I can get!
ReplyDeleteRegarding the poll, I must say than I could have answered both "yes" and "no". I did like the ending, it was an actual ending to me, if there's no movie it's not a big deal given how episode 8.24 ends. Jack is left as a fugitive who'll be hunted down as a terrorist by both the US and russian government, I love that dark ending.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, I got to say I'm interested in seeing 24 on the big screen so I answered 'yes'. I just hope it will remain in the same tone as the show, and that it won't be an action flick that is a 24 related movie just because of the title.
Tony Scott is a good director, he'll make a great action movie (I hope it won't be a mainstream product without the 24 touch though) but don't you guys think it would be better if Stephen Hopkins was the director instead?
Hopkins worked on 24 before : he directed 12 episodes of the 1st season but he left before season 2 because he often took too much time and/or money to make the episodes. He obviously knows the show better than other possible movie directors and he did a extremely great job on season 1 so I would be very happy if he decides to come on board, it would give 24 another kind of closure.
I thought the moviw was separate from the show. I'm sure I read that somewhere.
