According to Deadline there are three candidates left for replacing Andy Whitfield.

They are: 28-year old Stephen Amell, a Canadian; 33-year old Aiden Turner, a Brit; and 28-year old Liam McIntyre, an Aussie.

  1. Stephen Amell definitely is the one with the biggest experience, plus is the one that more resembles Andy Whitfield, so I'm rooting for him.

  2. Oh my gosh none of them is good enough to replace Andy, can't believe it!
But ... my choice would be Liam Mcintyre, Stephen Amell is too young and Aiden Turner well ... no!

  3. I'm sorry but i can't keep watching this show any longer.
I just can't....it's nothing without Andy.

  4. I understand your frustration, but give it a chance! As important as Andy is/was, the writers, producers, cameramen, editors, and all of the other actors are also important. Unless the replacement is truly awful, boycotting is silly. Besides, I'm sure Andy will be tuning in.

  5. Stephen Amell looks to young
Aiden Turner shouldn't even be considered after he did Dancing With The Stars (UK Reality TV)

    Which leaves Liam

  7. It's a prequel. Shouldn't he be younger anyway?

  8. Nope, it's the sequel: "Spartacus: Vengeance".
Gods of the Arena is the prequel, and doesn't feature Spartacus character (it was rumored for a cameo, but after the sad news, I don't knoe if Andy could shot it).

  9. Like Misterfloppy said, this is for Season 2 of Spartcaus, not the prequel "Gods of the Arena," which has already been filmed.

  10. All horrible choices but Liam McIntyre seems to be the best of bunch.

Aussies do it better, after all.

  12. Andy is sick... I pray that he gets better but the show has to go on.... I wish he could have stayed....... did you ever think that maybe he'd want people to keep watching....

  13. I still think that they should wait it out for Andy. I don't know if Andy has put his hands up completely but there are so many fans that love him as Spartacus and as a person...it would only be right to wait until he is better. Once then figure out if he still wants the job
