The last time an hour went by that fast was from watching 24. I love this show and can't wait until next Sunday. Well, first Thursday for Fringe, then Sunday. Really hope they go for more seasons.
Good God, that was awesome. And SO disgusting. The thing about it is, usually these things take place far away from where I live so there's that extra mileage between me and the action. This show practically takes place in my damn backyard, so I'm like recognizing I-85 and names of streets, the woods are the woods from around here, and dammit, that just adds a new layer of realism to it for me...That country house in the first episode with the horse reminded me of my street wayyyy too much.
The humanity of the show connects to viewers not living in the filmed area, but to know the streets, buildings or shrubbery in the shots must make it that much more surreal!! I am not sure if I should envy you or be glad! I may need professional care if I lived there!
Well, they made Zombieland here too, so I got a dose of seeing these places in the background of a zombie movie/show, but that was different: it was "in California" etc. so even though it was shot 20 miles down the street in Newnan, that scene was "In the Midwest" like Missouri or something... this is like "Forsyth Street" and seeing all those damn buildings... and lord knows what else.
Did you see a commercial for winning a competition to be an extra on the show? I'm trying to see if that's just a commercial going on in GA atm.
Wow! Seriously I would have your drinking water tested fast!! No one town should have that many zombie virus movies made there without all the residents being a wee bit paranoid!
I think The Crazies was filmed further south, like middle to Southern Georgia, where it's flat and open. Zombieland was filmed all over the state, (Newnan, Hiram, and I think Valdosta)...TWD seems to take place in Atlanta and metroatlanta, or the area to the west of Atlanta. lol I live about I'd say 35-45 minutes west of Atlanta...
Oh and I already knew that the Vampire Diaries was filmed in east Atlanta, so we have vampires too. lol I never really thought about this crap until now, but that's weird...
I like the two of them too! So you have my taste: how people cope with extraordinary situations, more or less difficult and the relationships between them...Great episode anyway!
Voted Awesome but still the first episode was a little better.
The action was pretty good for a second episode, I liked that they played with the feelings of guilt with the viewers, first cutting that zombie in pieces to be covered in their guys, and second the black man wanting to set free the racist but having to get away leaving him behind. My only complain would be that the episode only focused on "getting away from the store", also I'm starting to get mad at Rick's wife for having sex with Rick's partner, only 1 month after he went missing, and in the middle of a zombie apocalypse ffs!
Glad they renewed this, definitely this year was weak in terms of show premieres, with only The Walking Dead and The Event being good for me.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteEasily the best new show of the year.
