Fantastic, as usual. The Vampire Diaries is one of the few shows that gets the flashbacks right, plus they're perfectly interspersed between scenes of the current storyline. I really liked getting to know Katherine's backstory. Not so fond of the Damon/Rose thing. And what's up with the new witches in town? They can only spell bad news for Bonnie and the Salvatores, especially since the dad is working with the Originals...
Oh well! Guess I'll have to wait until Dec 2nd until all my questions are answered! :P
My question is why are all the witches in this show unnecessarily pretty, and pale-ish African American individuals? Are there no Caucasian or Indian or Latin witches? Just askin' lol
It's 9 min to midnight, and I'm still blown away....I just typed up a 45 min message on what I thought about the episode, I honestly can't type it up all again....but i'll just say this......EPIC EPIC EPIC EPIC EPIC!!! The flashback was terrific! Sooo many questions were answered....having a huge twist about "Katerina" blew me away, with one of her scenes...(people that read the books should have an inkling on what i'm talking about) didn't see that coming, the death and all. I still have a guilty pleasure for Stefan and Caroline, aww the mention of Lexi (R.I.P)....still don't like the Damon/Rose thing, but Damon needs some lovin, so i'll have to suck it up til, Elena wakes up....I knew Luca was a warlock!!! Elijah compelling a vampire, (sorry 4got his name, but liked him) and the only difference is the vampire is aware he's being compelled!! That sux!! So many twists....and I CAN'T WAIT FOR DEC. 2ND!!!
- Elena, when she wants to, can be very much like Katherine in manipulation, personality or deceit.Pretty much everything she did this episode. I am frankly surprised that no one called her out on that yet - Elijah continues to be badass. And we learn more about differences between Originals and normal vampires. - New warlock/witch family is boring. way beyond boring. - Overall considering that we will have 3 week break after this episode, this episode lacked....some sort of wtf-twist that would make the wait hard. At that I was disappointed.
Awesome episode, except for one teeny, tiny detail... WHY THE FUDGE WOULD DAMON HOOK UP WITH ROSE?! It's just plain WRONG! We all know he should be with Elena, and no one else.
This is my favorite TVD episode. They managed to make this show my favorite, even though I've been SPN fan for 5 years, with this 2nd season start. I loved Katherine's part of story, I really liked her from the first season and now I like her even more. I like Caroline/Stefan thingy and Bonnie/Jeremy. I don't like Luka or his father and I'm not really up to this whole Originals-can-make-themselves-alive thingy, but I'll live. I really LOVE Rose/Damon...love it enough not to think about Delena all the time. I'm really happy about this.
After the events of this episode, not to mention all of the trouble this season with Katherine, there is one thing that's LONG overdue:
Sit down with Aunt Jenna and explain to her exactly WTF is going on! If getting compelled to stab herself wasn't a wake-up call to everyone around her, this has got to be. Jenna is nothing but a helpless human target until someone comes to their senses and fills her in.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
