Kind of ironic, everybody has been complaining about the lack of plot or too many tribute episodes and this was a full on plot-driven episode that to me was ... meh. Dare I say I missed Finn and Rachel's drama..... EEEK! Maybe it was the lack of Emma and Carl goodness? Simply bad mash-ups and songs? Maybe I just don't always go for gender reversals and feel some songs sound much better with male singers and others with female singers? Too much Puck? Not sure, but for me personally it was one of the lesser eps of the season even with the predictable repressed homsexual bullying turned to kissing scene. Nt terrible, and an important issue, but overall... meh. Maybe just me....
I agree that everybody was complaining about lack of plot in recent episodes. But I LOVED this; I thought it was the perfect amount of plot. I'd rather have only 3 songs and more plot than viced versa. I enjoyed the HUGE twists in the story!
The big thing that I had a problem with was Kurt's spying on "The Warblers". Coming from Ohio, it's great to hear the names of familiar cities on the show. My home town in about 40 minutes from Lima where William McKinley High School is set. But The Warblers are in Westerville which is outside of Columbus. That's about a 2 hour drive each way! I doubt Kurt is going to skip school to drive 2 hours to spy on The Warblers and then drive 2 hours back and not be missed. I also doubt that a private school like Dalton Academy is going to allow one of their students to miss class just to confront a bully and take Kurt to lunch. More believable might be Van Wert (38 minutes), Celina (40 minutes), Findlay (40 minutes) or Bluffton (22 minutes). Or even have Dalton be another school in Lima like Carmel High's Vocal Adrenaline. I love this show but sometimes little goofs like this stick out.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteI think it was a sweet episode :) For example, what Mr. Shue did for Beast was really sweet, along with the song the guys sang for Beast too :)
