We're seven episodes into Fringe's third season, and 'The Abducted' has shot well above the already very-high high's that the season has set, and according to you, hit home as the best episode so far. By quite a way, as you can see for yourselves below:

Do you agree with the placing of 'The Abducted', as well as the other Season Three episodes thus far. Should it be so high?

As you can see 'The Abducted' is less well received by the various fans and SpoilerTV individuals included here, only placing forth. Interesting indeed...

It wasn't bad at all (definitely better than tonight's Bones episode...), but I think it was the worst out of the 5 so far. I'm too tired to think of an explanation right now... it just didn't get me quite as excited as the others. Though I do love hallucination Peter ;) And I'm super excited for the next "over there" episode, now that Olivia knows she doesn't belong there.

Yeah, I agree. The good thing is they are not going to drag out the "Olivia not knowing who she really is" any longer. It was also nice to see hallucination Peter - Peter for that mater to keep fans sane. The next few episodes are going to rock.
ReplyDeleteI give this episode a 9.0. It was a solid episode. It moved the story forward. It had many big, epic moments (like Olivia crossing over). Great exploration of over there. The case was strong, if not a bit complicated to follow. I loved the parallels between the twins and what's going on with Olivia and alternate Olivia. However, I feel the top three should be: Olivia, The Plateau, and Amber 31422; in that order. But, that said, I feel that all three of those episodes have been exceptional. I'm surprised that others here have claimed it's the worst of the five episodes so far this season -- I found this one to be much stronger than either of the over here episodes, for sure.

ReplyDeleteI completely agree. The odd # episodes have been my favorites as well. I would even say the same order of Olivia, The Plateau, Amber 31422.

My fav episode thus far, only because there's Polivia interaction in the last 5mins, although indirectly it's still worth it!!! Now Peter knows who he's sleeping with. In yo face, Peter!

ReplyDeleteI think the users poll is being skewed by the fact that we're rating based on adjectives like "awesome" or "great" or "poor" as opposed to a scale of 1-10 like the specific users are doing. Personally, for this last episode, I would not have given it a 10, but I thought it was more awesome than merely great. If you're going for equivalent ratings that you're going to compare, I think everyone should be using the same ratings scales. Just my opinion.
ReplyDeleteI'd volunteered in another post to participate in the user ratings/opinions on the episodes, but I never heard anything back. If you're still looking for people, I would be willing to contribute my two cents. Just let me know.
I know it's a little different, the idea is that I'm tryna give the general consensus, then also see what a few people also think of it to give a wider range of thoughts and views of each episode. It's still very much, work in progress. As I watch Fringe and love it, it seemed like a good place to get it started.

Don't get me wrong -- I think it's a great idea and I love seeing a wide sample of how various people/groups rate the episodes. I just think the general users poll is always going to rate extra high because of how it's set up. But I understand that it's a work in progress and I appreciate you putting in the effort to coordinate it each new episode.
