Dexter Morgan's in an increasingly tougher place after last week's Dexter: not only is his newest target, self-help guru Jordan Chase, starting to get suspicious of Dexter's attention, but Dex was also reminded that his family life can't always be handed off to others, when Astor brought an abused friend to his doorstep. The list of demands being placed on our favorite serial killer has never been a short one.You can read the full review here. Full show coverage is available in the Dexter category at Digital Airwaves (though there may be a slight delay as the site comes back from a post-holiday tidying up; should those links not work, you can also view the review at my Examiner column here).

"I doubt anyone was surprised to see them finally get intimate this week."
ReplyDelete*raises hand*
Yeah, I thought all of this intimate bonding between Dex and Lumen was a classic Dexter curveball. I didn't think that Lumen would actually go through with killing someone when the time came, either.
I figured that Dexter would give her a speech about not wanting her to become like him (because he cares about her and because no one should) and that she should try to put the pieces of her life back together and strive to regain her mental health when they're done exacting their revenge. That curveball never came.
Instead of what I predicted, we have TV's most screwed-up love story. Lumen has officially abandoned her old life to cut up scumbags hand-in-hand with Dexter. So, assuming Lumen survives, what happens when all the "barrel girl" sickos are dead? Is she going to want to find others to kill?
I'm not complaining, just thinking out loud. This episode was great. I've enjoyed every aspect of the season so far, with the exception of the Batista/LaGuerta relationship.
