They really should have more Orwell in their promos if they wanna get more people interested. What's the point of casting geek's favourite Summer Glau and not promoting her?
Looks like Rollo is beating the crap out of Vince Faraday at the beginning of the clip. Rollo is badass and i think Orwell and him are going to be the fans favourites.
There’s some cool slow-motion stunt at the end of the promo; i thinki have read that they spent a lot of money for the pilot. I'm wondering if they could have the same quality of special effects on the forthcoming episodes.
Am i the only one seeing some kind of darkness in some shots ( when Vince wears the hood and the mask ). I hope that The Cape willl find a balance between action, comedy and drama.
Sounds pretty cool! Looks like Tom Wheeler knows what he's doing, and everything's looking pretty interesting! I really like the comparisons with Batman, but it's great that it¡s a completely original story.
The whole ‘get your family back’ slant might be a bit contrived, considering Vince could just knock on their door and say ,”hi honey, I’m home.” But I guess that’s the conceit -- it’s about winning back his pride, honor, respect, and clearing his name. Not exactly original in the grand scheme of things, but there hasn’t really been a series like The Cape on network television for a while.
I'm a little surprised they haven't used Chess that much. It seems like they're using David Lyons and Summer Glau as the public faces of the show, while The Cape gets most of the advertising. I'd definitely like to see more Orwell and Chess.
I just saw the web-promo for this show at NBC.com and I've gone from being somewhat curious to rather excited about seeing this when it starts. I just hope that NBC has learned from both "Heroes" failure (the show really died long before it left the air) and the modest - but real - success "Chuck" is. The two key things for them to remember are to know who their audience is and to respect both their interests and their intelligence. To that end, I really hope NBC's on-air promos start to give more info about the show before long. Until I saw the web-promo, I had NO idea what the carnie folks had to do with anything, nor did I have any sense of who or what the main character is. The web-promo answered both of those questions and that's why I'm now really looking forward to seeing it. I'm also really surprised that they're not promoting Summer Glau's involvement more. I wasn't really aware she was part of the cast until I saw the web-promo, yet she's one of the most popular actres...
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
This is a new clip indeed, even if we have seen some of the shots already.
ReplyDeleteLooks good like the other promo clips.

I think this might be the the best promo released for The Cape thus far.
ReplyDeleteThis is kicking ass and The Cape is going to be awesome.
Given that there is a new clip every two days, chances are that we'll have Orwell's promo clip on Friday :)

we all know who is going to be the fans favourite.
ReplyDeleteSummer Glau will steal the show, like she did in Terminator : The Sarah Connor Chronicles
