There's a new vampire in Mystic Falls, "Vampire Diaries" fans. Sources confirm to Zap2it that "Supernatural's" Lauren Cohan will be sinking her teeth into the role of Rose, a tough, sexy vampire who might just catch Damon's (Ian Somerhalder) eye.

But then again, doesn't everybody?

Rose is over 500 years old and described as disarmingly elegant despite a "tough girl" first impression. Five centuries of bloodsucking have given her a certain edge. "Maybe there's some humanity left in her -- have fun finding it," my source says.

She's expected to make her first appearance in Episode 8, titled "Rose" -- yeah, she's kind of a big deal.

Cohan is best known for her role as the mercenary Bela Talbot on "Supernatural." She had a coy love-hate flirtation with Dean (Jensen Ackles) and appeared in Sam's (Jared Padalecki) dirty dreams. If she can get those two all hot and bothered, I think she'll fit in just fine with the Mystic Falls gang.

    I think the character was great but, for the most part, you were supposed to dislike her. All I can say is that if the Bella character debuted this season, Sam would just put a bullet in her and be done with it and I would approve.

    Also, I'm really thrilled to see so many NICE comments for Lauren on here and about bela. I've read soo many negative things about Lauren and Bela I love seeing these comments saying that they loved Bela and stuff. This makes my day!

    Sooo excited to see Lauren back on tv. I hope she keeps her accent on this show, she didn't use her accent in Float or Valentine, so I really hope the british accent's back for her role on this one. Even though i don't watch Vampire Diaries I will be watching Lauren's episodes :) And not givin up hope to see her on Supernatural again someday...they've brought back everyone else, so why not?

    I loved to hate her character on Supernatural but loved the actress for playing her so well. Can't wait to see her make her debut on The Vampire Diaries!!

    I liked her in Supernatural, I was wondering where is she these days. After the Bela-role she just kind of disappeared:) And especially pairing her with Damon is an awesome idea!:)

    OH YES !!!!!!!!!! . I love Laura she's a great actress just ashame Supernatural made her go to hell . But yes i think she will fit in great cause she can play anything evil,sexy,mean,nice,sad. Just a great actress looking forward to it .

    WOW! happy about this news... on a tvd blog there was a report that they cast the actress that had the role of AVA, wasn't too sure about it... but Lauren Cohan is a great choice! loved her as Bela!

    F YEAH! LOVED Lauren as Bela in Supernatural. Beside Ruby she was my fave female character. She's one of the hottest actresses I ever saw plus she has sexy British accent. Can't wait to see her as a vampire, and do I even have to mention that I already ship Rose/Damon?
