  1. Nice. Last thing I heard was that he was gonna write one episode (around Comic Con) but two episode plus his return as a director is definitley much much better. LOVE IT.

  2. You're right. IT only took 11 episodes. Lol

  3. That would be really great. Death was a real great character last year. What a shame that it is still MONTHS away but at least that means they will start with a great episode in 2012. ;D

  4. Thank you so much. No, I never heard of that fable before. It sounds great.
And it changes everything, since I know think it has more to do with the horsemen Death showing up in this episode.
Thank, so much for sharing this. :D

  5. The winchester family business site con run down says he said he'd just got the script for episode 10?

  6. Thanks for sharing!! :) It sounds really interesting!! I heard that they are going to bring Death back this season which is good because I quite liked his character. Too bad this episode is ages away :(

  7. Eric Kripke said in the recent Supernatural magazine that it is likely the Character Death will return. I expect this is the episode that sees the return of Death. By the way, he also said in that same interview it is likely Meg will return and that Eric is writing two episodes and directing one. It's a nice interview, I have the magazine scan.

  8. I looked it up. It's actually called after an old arabic fable. You may have heard of it before.
It's about a servant who is send to the market in Baghdad to buy provisions. In the market he spots a woman who he immediately recognizes as Death. She makes some kind of threatening gesture to him and he rans off to his master, a merchant. He says to his master that he wants to lend his horse so that he can run off to Samarra where Death won't be able to find him.

Later that day the merchant goes down to the market and also sees Death. The merchant asks her why she made the threatening gesture. She replied as followed: "That was not a threatening gesture, I said, it was only a start of surprise. I was astonished to see him in Baghdad, for I had an appointment with him tonight in Samarra."

So the title of this episode means something like:
"You can't escape Death/death/faith" or "a date with Death"

  9. Your story reminds me - didn't one of the TPTBs mention that they would be bringing Death back this year?

  10. Whoa! That sounds a bit morbid...the inevitability of the death of one of the characters?

  11. Bobby AND Cas in the same episode for the first time since the S5 finale? OOOhh YEAH!^__^

  12. That's definitely a plus. I wonder in how many episodes he will appear until then. Did he say anything at the Con?

  13. Thank you, I thought 'Samarra' sounded Arabian.

  14. Thanks a bunch. So it is about suicide (death). Maybe it has to do something with Sam. I mean, you could say he commited suicide by throwing himself into the hole and saving the world, couldn't you?

Does the main character live in Samarra or do you know why the book is called 'appointment in Samarra'?

  15. I know Castiel will be in it, because Misha said at the Chicago Supernatural convention that he just received the script for episode 11.

  16. Well...I don't know about "Appointment in Samarra",but I know a bit about Samarra..I study History and Archaeology and we talked about it briefly. It's a city in Iraq,I think somewhere near Baghdad. It's an important site of worship for the Muslims, cause of some people who were buried there.
But that's all I've got...Maybe it has something to do with angels!?!?!
I have no idea..Could be something else entirely..But around episode 11 it's the hiatus for Christmas and it would make sense for the angels to appear, because they're gonna need cliffhangers...I could speculate all day and still come up with nothing,so I'm gonna stop!
    ; )

  18. It's a novel in which a guy commits suicide after three days because he lost his inhibitions and because of that keeps commiting all kinds of impulsive acts. There wasn't an explanation in the book for his behaviour though...I'm guessing after this episode we know what happended according to the supernatural writers ;)

  19. Appointment in Samarra? Anybody know if this is some kind of reference?

  21. I knowww... I especially loved how he was an old man but gave that vibe of creepiness and from the minute he spoke he was so damn creepy. Not to mention how he spoke to Dean.

Haha I think you mean 2011 :P It's too bad its ages away though :(
