We've just been told that Starz are to replace Andy Whitfield as he battles the return of his cancer.

    Replacing him? Yeah good luck with that. I totally understand that Andy Whinfield is really sick and can't do the show, but getting someone else ismjust stupid. I'd rather see it canceled than this.

    Recasting doesn't effect the level of writing and acting from everyone else. Who knows, the actor who replaces Andy might even be an undiscovered legend.

    Saying that, I'm totally against Andy being replaced on the basis that he *is* Spatacus and getting to see his abs was what got me through week to week.

    No, they are replacing him. They are currently auditioning for his
    role. As soon as we know who has been chosen we'll be sure to post.

    Aha...can someone clarify please: is he going to replace Spartacus or is that going to be a new different character, who's going to a lead role and a leader for the Gladiators on the show and Spartacus will just not appear at all

    Either way, NOT loving this, Andy is soo great and his abs is it's own topic :D
