-Ratings Breakdown:
Despite facing baseball on Fox, CBS still dominated in the Thursday overnights with a 1.4 rating point advantage over Fox. Keep in mind that Cablevision subscribers in New York still have no access to Fox, which has negatively impacted the results. Next was ABC, followed by distant NBC and The CW.

Red-hot The Big Bang Theory remained just that, with an 8.9 rating/15 share in the overnights at 8 p.m. That led into just full season renewed $#*! My Dad Says, which rose to a 7.0/11 at 8:30 p.m. -- its best overnight performance since debuting on Sept. 23. Together, the two sitcoms outdelivered year-ago occupant Survivor: Samoa (6.7/11 on Oct. 22, 2009) by a healthy 19 percent. Five-week overnight track for $#*! My Dad Says:

Next on CBS, of course, was veteran CSI (#1: 9.5/15), which capitalized on the current odd interest in hoarders, followed by The Mentalist at a 9.7/17 at 10 p.m. While it certainly will not lead the evening among adults 18-49, The Mentalist once again was top-rated in the overnights.

On Fox, game five of The National League Championship Series, Philadelphia vs. San Francisco, averaged an approximate 8.2/13 in the overnights in primetime, with the half-hour breakdown as follows:

One year earlier, game five of the American League Championship Series (New York Yankees vs. Los Angeles Angels) was virtually identical with an 8.0/13 on Oct. 22, 2009. Keep in mind, as always, that results for any live sporting event are always approximate.

It was business as usual on ABC with its line-up of a repeat of Grey’s Anatomy (#4: 3.2/ 5), an original installment of Grey’s Anatomy (#2: 8.3/13), and spin-off Private Practice (#2: 5.7/ 9), which will narrow the gap among adults 18-49 opposite CBS’ aforementioned The Mentalist. At present, ABC has still not announced anything to officially step in for canceled My Generation at 8 p.m.

NBC also had nothing unusual to report with its lackluster combination of comedies Community (#3t, 3.0/ 5), 30 Rock (#3: 3.9/ 6), The Office (#4: 4.6/ 7) and Outsourced (#4: 3.5/ 5) from 8-10 p.m., and failing The Apprentice at 10 p.m. (#4: 2.8/ 5). The Office always resonates among adults 18-49, but lead-out Outsourced dipped to a series low and not even Donald Trump can spin these horrific results for The Apprentice.
