  1. Ha, when I voted for the CW I didn't think it would have so many votes. XD Maybe the poll hasn't been up long enough.

  2. Oh, Lord. I was about to vote for FOX when I realized that I watch more hour-long shows on The CW than any other network. I think there may be something wrong with me. I've apparently transformed into a teenage girl and no one told me.

  3. Agreed! Most of the shows I watch are on AMC, FX, HBO and Showtime.

  4. I can't wait to see The Walking Dead.
Breaking Bad is absolutely AMAZING, and Mad Men hit a new level of quality this season! (BLANKENSHIP!!!?) but you should also watch Rubicon: incredible, incredibly underrated show. It started out really slow, but holy shit, the last 6 episodes built into something spectacular. And the big reveal!? WOW. I loveeddd it.

  5. I wasn't sure whether to check it out or not, but I guess I'll give it a try. Thanks!

  6. I voted for CW, because of Supernatural, my all time favorite ;) and I also watch Vampire Diaries, but the most shows I watch are actually on CBS.

  7. I'm hesistating between FOX and NBC.

    - FOX aired groundbreaking dramas like The X-Files and 24 which are two majors shows of the last two decades.

They had groundbreaking comedies as well, such as The Simpsons (major cultural impact), Malcolm in the Middle (a single camera sitcom without a laugh track in 2000) and Arrested Development (simply cult). Furthermore, FOX shows they push the envelope with Seth MacFarlane shows : The Cleveland Show, Family Guy and American Dad (sometimes when I watch it, I can't believe Family Guy airs on a major network and it's great because they seem to have no limits)).

Unlike all the other major networks, FOX dares to air animated series on sundays and they even had a smart teen drama for four years (The OC, I havnt seen it but is has good reputation), something no other network would program. They had Futurama too, which is probably my favourite animated series.

And right now, Fringe is probably my favourite drama of all the major networks, and the show keeps getting better. I'm not sure another network would air a show with a storyline like the one there is the 3rd season (one episode in our dimension and the next one in the other one with a lot of mythologic elements in every episode, I'm glad they don't try to absolutely preserve the audience by not getting them confused with all that, they just do it and it makes a great sci-fi show, it's not just a fantastic procedural like it kind of was in the first half of the first season).

NBC has a lot of potential. They have revolutionnary shows as well : The West Wing, ER and such. I haven't seen those two (besides several episodes of ER, how can one miss that show) and I'm planning to watch The West Wing this fall, but I know these are two groundbreaking drama series.

And NBC is, hands down, the best network for smart & funny comedies : Seinfeld & Friends are two of my favourites comedies. Scrubs is trully great too (I have just seen the first three seasons so far though), The Office is awesome, Community too, I like 30 Rock a lot and the 2nd season of Parks of Recreation was probably the best surprise of last year (because I think season 1 sucked). NBC knows how to make good comedies, that's for sure.

And right now, they have Chuck, which is the most entertaining show on air, combining very well comedy and action. Furthermore, NBC brought Friday Night Lights, which I'm a fan of too. The Event is really gripping so far, I can't wait to see more of it. Really, NBC and FOX are above all other networks in my opinion.

But in the end, even if it's really hard to choose between those two, I guess my vote goes to FOX.

ABC had great shows (Alias, Lost) but right now they don't have anything really outstanding (besides Modern Family) and I don't recall any other major show coming from them that I've completely enjoyed, really.

The CW and CBS are two networks I would never vote for, that's for sure. The Vampire Diaries is great and first three seasons of How I Met Your Mother were terrific (TBBT is cool too) but it's not enough to make me vote for either of these networks.

  8. ...Yeah, my general opinion is that the only thing I'd choose out of the networks is the lesser evil. I don't watch anything on that channel at all, save for the hulu'd episode of Cougar Town. You don't have to tell me...

  9. I don't watch much broadcast television, but when I do, Its normally NBC. I am still pissed at them for the Coco/Leno situation, but this is why I made my decision:

CBS: Nothing on it for me.
ABC: Would have won if Lost hadn't ended yet, if V was getting better treatment, if they let Scrubs die peacefully, and if Better Off Ted wasn't canceled.
FOX: All they have for me is House. I will tune into their animated shows every so often. Also, I admit it, I like Running Wilde.
NBC: Aside from Lenogate, NBC has Chuck, which remains one of the greatest broadcast network shows. They also have Community and 30 Rock. Late Night With Jimmy Fallon isn't that bad either, even though his lead in is a talentless hack.

  10. mmm I couldn't even vote haha...ABC was my favorite when it had "Lost" and Flashforward but I don't watch anything on it now...neither on FOX. CBS is pure procedurals and comedies with laugh tracks. On NBC I watch Chuck, The Office and The Event, last year I watched Heroes. I guess The CW has my favorite shows Smallville and Supernatural, but I also hate what the network stands for (dramas for teenage girls ha).

  11. I only voted CW because they give me my SUPERNATURAL. In terms of how they're all run, their decision making and so on I think blind chimps on pot could do a better job.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Haha, while I wouldn't exactly call the CW a "major" network, it does have the highest number of shows that I tend to watch on a weekly basis, such as Smallville, Nikita, The Vampire Diaries, and the occasional LUX. If you can't tell, I'm definitely part of the CW's target demographic :3 Oh! And it played Legend of the Seeker on Sunday nights, so A+ for that. And let's not forget my hands-down favorite, Supernatural, which makes up for all the network's other shortcomings.

I also like FOX: House, Family Guy, The Simpsons, Glee, occasionally Fringe and NBC: Chuck, Undercovers.

  13. Having to partake in this poll reminds me how much of my entertainment I get from cable channels.
    FX, AMC, and TNT FTW.

  14. I voted CW, even though the only show I watch on it is 'Supernatural', but as it's my fave show, I will stick with that. Runner up would be CBS for 'NCIS' and 'The Big Bang Theory' and Fox for 'Bones' and 'Glee'.

  15. yea, 30 Rock is really awful, totally unfunny and annoying

and TBBT is as funny as it never was this season tbh

    ReplyDelete
  16. I voted fox, because I watch the most series from this channel. Fringe, House, Good Guys, Raising Hope.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I saw maybe the first six episodes of 30 rock. It was super boring. Community is my favourite though with HIMYM. TBBT is getting very redundant.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Dude, ABC is almost as bad as The CW.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I am interested to hear what you watch.
EDIT: Saw your post below. :)

  21. Well, MF+CT > TAAHM, M&M, SMDS, but I forgot about HIMYM. I think that show is tired but it is pretty good.

    ReplyDelete
  22. AGREEEEEDD :) I don't watch any CW shows (though I would think about giving Vampire Diaries a chance)

    ReplyDelete
  23. I agree, TBBT & HIMYM are good shows but no way as good as NBC shows like 30 Rock, Community etc. I wouldn't agree with the ABC comedies being better than CBS ones though

    ReplyDelete
  24. TAAHM (used to be good), TBBT, HIMYM

    ReplyDelete
  25. The funny thing is, right now half of their shows are better than what's on the other channels. :X

    ReplyDelete
  26. Ugh...Aside from TBBT what "great" sitcoms are you referring to?
While I HATE NBC overall, their channel's sitcoms are much better (IMO...) and even abc's MF and Cougar Town I like more than CBS comedies.

You don't happen to watch SH!T My Dad Says, Do you?

  27. CW for me! supernatural smallville nikiya and VD.
it used to be abc but they have cancelled pretty much all of the shows i use to watch like the gates and eastwick.i do watch v but they cut the episode order down kow =(

  28. I watch most of my tv on CW. :O
(Supernatural, Smallville, Vampire Diaries, Life Unexpected)
But I don't like most of the choices the channel makes...Sooo even if I only watch 1 show on FOX (Fringe) I voted for FOX just because I HATE what CW stands for, I ONLY like Medium + The Good Wife on CBS and the rest is just procedural crap, and abc, while I sorta respect it for its last 7 years of programming, (Lost, DH, B&S Cougar Town--even if I didn't watch them lol) I just don't ever watch abc...and NBC is just...ugh, NBC has lost all respect I had for it.
    lol

I'll rate it like this: FOX, ABC, CW, CBS, NBC.

    ReplyDelete
  29. At the moment AMC clearly is my fav network, but it's just not a major one, although CW isn't one either in my opinion. Breaking Bad's 3rd season was the best thing on TV I've seen in years (and I am a huge Lost fan), Mad Men is an awesome show too and I just finished watching the Walking Dead pilot and it was amazing.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Ohh please dont vote The CW, they just make as much crap as possible..

    ReplyDelete
  31. The CW because it's the home of Supernatural but my second choice would be Fox and Fringe.

I don't really care what network I'm watching. I pick shows because they're interesting, I love the actors or the writers and not because they air on a certain network.

    ReplyDelete
  32. They all suck tbh...
but I went with CBS because of their great sitcoms

    ReplyDelete
  33. Al Jazeera.

I voted ABC cos they gave us the best show ever. NBC are going good for me at the moment though.

  34. SmallvilleSupernaturalCastle22 October 2010 at 02:43

I voted for the CW only because of Smallville and Supernatural. I also like VD and Nikita but the friday duo are my favorites! I actually have more shows on abc so it would be my second choice. 1 show on CBS-NCIS:LA
    NBC: The Event
    FOX: Human Target

  35. IT'S THE FANS OF SUMMER GLAU!!

    :P

  36. Well, I got tired of the very same jokes over and over. The knocking, the "my spot", Sheldon being ridiculous and the others letting him. And now a female version of Sheldon. Although I liked the part when they analysed Penny.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Personally I think the commentors on this site are funnier than most of the comedies on network TV. Community is the biggest exception. You guys have me laughing and snorting water.

I can't vote for the CW even though it has Supernatural, my favorite. I hate the way that netlet is run and the fact that they continue to treat their best shows like garbage. I watch CBS but none of it is appointment TV anymore for me, even NCIS. NBC has Community but that's about it. I really like No Ordinary Family on ABC but nothing else. Fox has Bones. Apparently, I'm a station hopper now although I'm usually more consistent. Really the only network I consistently watch is USA so it's basic cable for me.

  38. CW because they give us Supernatural :D
