  1. Uh oh. Sammy's in trouble. Not sure how I feel about this episode. I didn't think it was funny. All the good lines were in the previews and I didn't think they brought the vamp mocking to the level I was hoping. I really like the unsettling feeling I'm getting about Sam now. Still I want more answers and less questions. Something's definitely wrong, but what? I also don't know what to make of Grandpa Creepy calling Sam out like he did. Maybe Sam is taking the Campbells on a ride instead of the other way around. I'm really confused right now but I'm more invested in this season after tonight's episode than I have been so far.

  2. I actually think that when Gramps doubted Sam, it gave Sam the win in 'Most Shady Campbell of the Week.' Last time, it was Gramps with the phone and being an ass to Dean. Last night, Sam let Dean get turned? And tried to hide the fact that he was all happy about it? Oh no. Sam wins this round of douchbaggery, it almost put him with the rest of the CSK and that's really saying something.

But Vampire!Dean? Oh man...I wanted to cry. The look he gave Sam after he ingested Jewfro vamp's blood, it made me =( But dammit Sam, you let him get turned! You soo had enough time to grab that guy off him, or at least scare him off with the knife. So BAMF with one vampire and then so '....:S' with the next? Nope, you let Dean get turned. Bad brother! But Gramps is redeeming himself, I think that I can start approving of Mary's pops a bit more with him in the same boat as Dean and trying to figure out what the hell's up with Sam.

Now, Dean needs to get back on Lisa's good side. Somehow. I wish he would've told her, or at least showed his fangs once he was about to drink him because then at least she would've freaked out and called Sam or Dean in the morning flipping out on him and asking when the hell he got the new grill over his teeth. Like really, your life has already invaded home Deano, it happened when you saved her and Ben from the Changeling =/

But I loved the entire episode, especially Dean's BAMFness in demolishing the nest. And his "These aren't vampires, they're douchebags" line. And he did the creepy!stalker!Edward thing with Lisa! But really Jensen, awesome. But his angry!vampire!Dean made me think of his Tom from Bloody Valentine, but times three and then on 'roid rage. And that made him a pretty awesome vampire. And Jared being heartless Sam was really good too. It's like, Sam knows the right things to say to sound normal but he just can't act it out. He's all logos versus pathos right now and he used to be the combination. Sam needs to stop being heartless and be Sammy again, somehow, occasionally; like that whole opportunity when Dean asked him the last time they had a beer together and Sam blows him off. Give us a glimpse of old Sammy, Sera! I miss the puppy =(

  3. But also note that when Kripke was talking about the end game, he might've been speaking from the perspective of SPN ending at season 5 and therefore Sam dying would be series finale. Since they decided to continue, obviously they tweaked it a little to keep our wonderful lead (as much as i love Cas or even Bobby, my SPN heart will die watching Dean partnering up with anyone other than Sam for the long run).

  4. Oh yes, definitely. He's finally becoming more three dimensional and not just a prop. This episode changed him from being just the evil tricky douche bag playing the Winchesters for his own selfish purposes to someone i might want to survive (although for now the rest of the Campbells still MUST GO).

    ReplyDelete
  5. I agree with you Wilson. I think Grandpa showing that he doubts Sam shows that he isn't all bad. Yes there is something going with the Campbells, but maybe they aren't the complete bad guys we think they are.

    ReplyDelete
  6. I read that scene a little differently. I took it as a good sign because, to me, it meant that whatever happened (or is going on) with Sam it's just Sam...not everyone who got brought back. And selfishly I have to admit...I really want to like the character because of how much I like Mitch Pileggi. Though he doesn't feel settled in this part yet. Maybe it's intentional and is part of the story we don't know yet.

    ReplyDelete
  7. you know what actually the weird part for me
that Samuel does not know why Sam acted like that which
that means that he is not involve in what ever going on with Sam

and Sam just keep asking Dean how he feels when he is a vampire
or what he saw , that all he thinks of not that his brother almost die and he just stood there and watch
with a big fat smile on his face , i like tough Sam , but that's just wrong????????

    ReplyDelete
  8. It probably is, I was a little depressed last night. BUT earlier this summer in an interview, Kripke said that the end game had always been for Sam to host Lucifer (check) and for Dean to kill Sam. I'm not convinced that the plan isn't STILL to have Dean kill Sam and to have all the fans cheering him on.

    ReplyDelete
  9. well maby cause in the promo he is asking Sam and must find out something , but need to wait and see. I know Cas is acting weird like the 1st time he saw Sam he looked at him funny . Also he is detached . xx

    ReplyDelete
  10. Omg true.. CAS!
I don't think it will work on angel.... And I believed him in eps 3 when he said he didnt know.
men i cant wait for this episode... I got a feeling we will have so many questions after... it's only episode 6... Looks like Dean is attacking Sam though... so we need a little resolution to have an episode 7 haha. I CANT WAIT!

    ReplyDelete
  11. They couldnt mock VD cause its on the CW. And I think the writers didnt mock True blood to much was cause at least their Vamps looks mean and wants to kill... and they dont shine hahaha

    ReplyDelete
  12. I don't know if it works that way. I do know that people died because they couldn't take the truth. it makes them tell the truth. But I'm curious how much of it Cas knows, as seen in promo for the next epi

    ReplyDelete
  13. I really am not a fan of Twilight or True Blood or anything like that so I really loved this episode!!

    ReplyDelete
  14. I'm thinking that there are multiple behind-the-scenes games going on:

One is run by Samuel, who most likely believes Sam is on his side. Campbels are bagging Alphas for whatever reason they are doing it. Obviously they have some sort of higher-up who is asking them to do that.

Second is run by Alphas, who are obviously building some kind of army for whatever purpose.

Third is run by the whole Haven Civil war.

And the last is run by Sam himself as he is clearly hiding stuff from Samuel and having his own ideas on certain things. I would not be surprised if Sam would betray both Samuel's side and Dean's side at some point.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Jared's acting wasn't awful by any means. If his acting were awful then we sure as hell wouldn't be sitting here questioning ourselves about Sam and what the hell is going on with him and why he's acting the way he is.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Yeah...I think that's a little extreme

    ReplyDelete
  17. I think the episode built the season mystery arc nicely. Loved Dean as a vamp and how he took out the nest single handed. Jensen did show them how to deal with vampires! Shows that a hunter can beat the vampires if he needs to -- even if he has to join 'em to do it. Despite all the temptation, Dean never succumbed to his need to feed. He held on to his humanity and I believe that will come into play since it seems like Sam has surrendered his. Watching Sam stop at the head of the alley and just watch as FroVamp turned Dean was a truly creepy moment. And Gpa Creepy calling Sam out on it? Maybe he's not what we thought. I love the misdirect and really want to know more about him now.

I'm very intrigued by whatever it was that dropped all the vamps at once and the weird vision that ran thru Dean's mind. What exactly is going on? What are these monsters gearing up for and why are the Alpha's making themselves known? And, the most important question, what is up with Sam? Dean never gives up on his family and I can't see him stopping now. He'll stick close, observe and dig until he figures out what happened to his brother. Sam made some kind of deal because there is no way a Winchester could become so inhuman on his own. Like Dahne1 said, I am more invested in this season now than ever. I want answers and I'll strap in and hold on to this ride until I get some!

  18. I freaken LOVED it but I'm a fan of vampire stuff and love bitching about them yeah im weird I know so there is NO freaken way tey could have mess that episode up for me haaha. LOVED IT!!!

THOUGH... I HATED and i mean H.A.T.E.D Grandpa's doubts about sam, just shut the F up i hate you, you dont get to have doubts, you and your phone call mister shut it. omg kill him alreaady.

any way other then that loved it. yeah i hate the way sam was acting but men i wanna know what the hell is up with him so much, never been so much ineterested in him

    ReplyDelete
  19. OMG this would be soooo good (your sam and campell theory). But then the first two episode wouldnt really work... Or no wait first one wouldnt cause grandpa clearly looked like he didnt want sam to know any thing..

... but could be he was only talking about dean... and sam was making sure to keep him out of the way wow im so going with this!!! love it haah. I think i might like the campell if i think like that lol

    ReplyDelete
  20. I'm pretty sure I know what you mean. I love Jared but aw... sometimes he gets me out of the "moment" ahaha. cant help it... I'm into it and then he does something weird ahaha

    ReplyDelete
  21. well thats what i thought.. its kinda why i hated it hahaha. The writers obviously trying to make him more lovable are what ever,.. sorry this ship has sailed baby. hahaah!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Well, honestly this awkward phase for me started around the time he started looking more...as Crowley would say...Moose-like. Rewatch Swan Song, the "assbutt" scene, and watch the flat-out cardboard posture Jared's got...It really kills a scene for me. :(

    ReplyDelete
  23. If this season follows the previous seasons' patterns, we will find out in episode 22 after Sam's character has been so destroyed that season 7 will be all about Dean chasing Sam, while riding with Castiel and the series will end with Dean killing Sam and enjoying sending him back to Hell.

    ReplyDelete
  24. lol I thought that Grandpa having doubts about Sam was an improvement: It made him seem more...human...and less creepy.

    ReplyDelete
  25. OMG so agree with you ahaha. Though for me its since the biggining of this season.. he is doing something with his posture... and his shoulder its just super weird for me ahaha anyway

    ReplyDelete
  26. I loved the comedy of it. The fun made at the expense of Twilight was perfect in true Supernatural style. Watching Sam stand there and let that happen to Dean was freaky. I commented to my daughter when Dean took out that nest that Samuel and the Campbells would never be able to poke fun at him again because he still has it. I felt for him over Lisa. I got a gut feeling he's lost her and she has no idea why he pushed Ben away like he did. That took everything Dean had to walk out without hurting them. To me it was a great episode and the show is steadily building back up like it did in Season 1. But, Sam worries me. The Sam Wnchester we all know and love was not there tonight. Sam would never have allowed that to happen to Dean. It scares me for both of them.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Oh lol sorry. Ya I guess you're right that kinda sucked.

    ReplyDelete
  28. No you misread me: I was just talking about how annoyingly awkward the guy was running. It completely took me out of the show for a second... everything else was generally alright.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I think Sam's breaking my heart.

    ReplyDelete
  30. We will learn what is up with Sam, that is part of the mystery of the season.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I liked it a lot. The spinoff of Twilight was so freaking funny. And I have a theory.

Vampires and shapeshifters are forming an army, and both seem to have alphas. Perhaps it's a war? Or maybe they're on the same side against the hunters?

But for real, WTF is up with Sammy? I'm NOT happy with that sac of shit right now (kidding Sammy, I love you....but really.) I REALLY want to know what's up with him.

    ReplyDelete
  32. You definitely sound like hmmmm...... you know what? FRUSTRATED! Or maybe that's me and I'm projecting.

No I didn't get any more perspective from the second watch. It just confirmed I have no fudgin' idea what's going on. All I can say is thank you for giving us your thoughts so I didn't have to try make any sense of my own. From now on I'm just going to 'like' comments I agree with and leave the theories to the experts. (And if you believe that last sentence you'll believe anything - I so cannot keep my fingers off the keyboard)

Thanks too for Sociopath 101 - it certainly explains a lot of Sam's behavior - but I don't WANT Sammy to be a sociopath - I want the real Sam back (or at least as near to Sam as we can get, given what he's been through). And there I go whining again.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Yeah i sound like a total MENTALIST don't i Jillyanne. Did you get any more perspective from the second watch ?

Yeah that is the standard Sociopathic check list. Add Narcissism and the ability to fit the mould of any personality type you wish oh and a high IQ. I didn't wanna add anymore. He's got enough LOL.

Sociopaths study their victims and then Mimic what they think the victim wants. Lover, Friend, and in Sams case BROTHER, But they don't care about you in the least, it's all about what you can do for them. They'll ruin your life if they have to. You don't matter, they do.

In real life there is no known treatment for them. It's like they were born without a soul. Alot of serial killers are sociopaths. It's much easy to tip over the moral event horizon if you don't have any empathy for others. No guilt and no remorse.

I think that Bobby meant well. He just wanted Dean to be happy and safe. Lying was the wrong way to go about it but he knew that if Dean knew about Sammy he'd leave Lisa and Ben and go back to his brother and the hunt. He should know though, that Dean would never have been truely happy without Sam and with old Sam vice versa. This sam, well Dean's just collateral damage (oh please prove me wrong Sammy) Hope this interests you in a morbid way <3 <3

    ReplyDelete
  34. Dahne1 I like that theory. that's new and original so YAY you <3

IMHO i still think Sams soul has gone bye bye for the moment. Empathy, right from wrong, love etc., they are all said to be connected to the soul. That's why i don't think he has one. he's got none of these right now. I want your theory to be true. that's he's the victim and is being controlled and as for the genuine concern for Dean are we all just making blind excuses for him. I mean maybe he's that good at pretending now. He knows Dean inside and out and he knows what Dean wants to hear or needs to see but he can't help slipping up as all sociopaths eventually do. Dean sees through the cracks but doesn't want to believe it's not Sammy. I think that's why it takes him so long to figure it out. His judgement is clouded when it comes to Sammy. It's out now though. He saw him smirk. This is gonna be very interesting to watch what unfolds from this point on. I don't know about you but it is hillarious to watch Sam lie, He is AWFUL at it. Fingers crossed for your theory <3

    ReplyDelete
  35. I'm back. I've watched it twice now with both eyes fully open and brain somewhat engaged.

    I still feel on edge.

    Sam is so 'off'.

And as I said earlier, and others have too, I'm quite content with my hatred of Grandpa Creepy and really don't want/need any reason to hate him any less, thanks.

Yeah - 'nothing is as it seems' - absolutely NOTHING. Except Dean. Oh and Bobby (yeah I know he wasn't in this episode, I'm just saying) although I still don't fully understand why he helped keep Sam's being back secret from Dean.

Oh and is that the standard sociopath checklist? 'Cause it's scary, not to mention very worrying that Sam checks all the boxes.

I'm relieved you're still aware you're talking to a fictional character - there is hope for you yet - unsure about just how much hope there is for Sammy though.

Sera & Co you are doing a stellar job of messing with our heads - can I just say thank you and I hope you all rot in hell - preferably in the cage with Luci and Michael. No not really - as long as you give us SOMETHING next week.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Hey everyone go read Dahne's recap - it's totally awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  37. My current theory - Sam is being controlled by an Alpha or THE Alpha. This Alpha is stronger than AlphaVamp and doesn't need to completely knock his followers/victims out. Instead, he takes over Sam and then releases him. This theory comes from the fact that Sam seemed freaked out for Dean when he first saw the vamp attack. Then he goes still and his whole body and face changes. Later, he's freaked and runs after the vamp again. Of course, it could be that he was taking advantage of the opportunity the vamp presented, but I like this theory better. It makes Sam the victim instead of a heartless sociopath you rightly called him.

    ReplyDelete
  38. No beating about the bush - tell us how you REALLY feel !
No seriously, what you've written is awesome. I think I agree with most of it (only watched it once - it downloaded soooo slowly it was nearly midnight by the time it finished - 6 hours for God's sake) but I just wanted to say how impressed I am I need to watch it again so I can comment reasonably intelligently ;)

    ReplyDelete
  39. I am not excited about Grandpa Creepy getting getting sympathy. I want him to remain evil. You're right though. Sam was the newest CSK member this week. He sucked more than the vampires. Letting Dean be the bait was low. I swear Sam is being controlled by something and I don't think it is Lucifer.

I hope Dean and Lisa make up too. I really like the average family storyline and how Dean tries to balance his hunting life with his life with Lisa and Ben. Even if he does not stay with them, there has to be more closure than this. If this is the last we've seen of Lisa and Ben for awhile, it is really lame.

    ReplyDelete
  40. There's a bitter aftertaste left from discovering the character competition was hacked (yeah i know, i'm slow... i swear the most interesting things happen when i decide i need to focus on studying or w/e)... but i march forward nonetheless

The opening scene... i'm sorry, it was just weak. The first minute or so of bella-edward i laughed and then they were milking a dry cow, it just dragged on for way too long and i was just waiting for the action *any moment now... no, not yet... now?! he'll show her?!?! oh... still going... AndYeahYouGetMyPoint* it dragged on so much so that when he finally attacked, my reaction was just a mild "finally..."

I was a little wary of the fact that the rest of the episode might be just one long boring spoof, not unlike vampires suck (not that i've seen it), but the rest of the episode didn't disappoint. I'm loving the new mysterious cold sam persona they're building, i just can't wait for when it all blows over, PLEASE VERITAS, BE THE EPISODE I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR. I hope all the anticipation and expectation doesn't amount to an underwhelming explanation... i'll just cry if that happens. I kept checking how much was left of the episode because i wanted dean to confront sam about what he just remembered, but i guess thats for another time.

and prpleight brought up a good point... the alpha's message thing was just too convenient. And also, Nicol, I'M ALSO DEADLY CURIOUS ABOUT CAS. He always seemed to know exactly what us earthlings are thinking, i just hope if Cas does show up he doesn't take a "there are far bigger problems in the world then just Sam acting strange" approach.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I totally agree about the opening. It fell flat to me. The rest of the episode was a lot stronger and in places, funnier.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I thought the first 4 minutes of Twilight interpretation was long, boring, and irritating instead of funny. I was looking for more snarky one-liners. Not a play-by-play of Twilight at its worst. It took away from the Winchester story. Damon did Twilight far better on Vampire Diaries.

    ReplyDelete
  43. So I was writing the recap of Supernatural and it was way too long to put on SpoilerTV. What can I say? Concise and I are not friends. Here it is if anyone's interested:

    http://dahne1.blogspot.com/2010/10/supernatural-episode-605-live-free-or.html#more

    ReplyDelete
  44. Oh! Nicol, You reminded me of the other element of Sam's behavior that was so...off...He never asked about Dean. He asked for a catalog of physical affects and for the report of what Dean saw and heard while in the nest, but he never asked *about* Dean. I can't believe I couldn't articulate it until now....that's something Sam did that drove Dean nuts for years. It was completely missing in this ep.

I know this Sam story is making some people nuts but it's got me really intrigued. I completely agree it's time for a few answers. I'm looking forward to them.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Okay, I watched a second time and I have to ask. What True Blood references were you guys seeing? I still missed them. The only references I picked up on were the Twilight references.

If you want to you can attribute the wannabe's actions to Buffy. That bit reminded me a lot of the Lie to Me ep of Buffy.

But I missed the True Blood stuff...any examples?

    ReplyDelete
  46. Well there collecting all the Alphas so i think they are trying to start an army .

    ReplyDelete
  47. Yeh totally agree with you i miss the old Sam he was so kind and just lovely . But that is not him not in a million year's is that him , i think the devil is still in him after all when he jumped in the hole he was still Lucifer . Donou need to wait and see xxx

    ReplyDelete
  48. I'd just like to echo prpleight - that wasn't what I was expecting.
Way darker than I thought it was going to be, and yeah, what the hell is wrong with Sam? He almost looked like he enjoyed watching Dean get turned. No fear or concern for his brother at all. I'm even less inclined to believe he's just suffering from a hell-hangover after this.
Don't like Grandpa Creepy exhibiting signs of being anything other than an assbutt. Don't like him. Don't want any reason to like him.
Dean was incredible. What a hero! God I sound like a fangirl! But he did seriously kick vampbutt. And the way he just stood there, waiting for Grandpa Creepy to chop his head off.
This episode was, well, creepy. I'm left feeling bewildered. Still no answers - in fact, even more questions.
Oh and I loved the episode.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I agree but we'll find out some answer's when Dean can ask anybody anything and he ask's Sam so ?. xxx

    ReplyDelete
  50. I miss Sam.
That's all I can say. Risk brother's life so he can spy on vamps building army and doing all this just to get some information and get the Alpha... What happened to Sam must be really horrible when he did this to the closest person he has in the whole universe...
I need Veritas. Like, right now.
I think season's progress is quite great. The show is slowly building it and I like what they do with characters, even if I end up with my mouth hanging open, trying to figure out what the hell was that. But I think it's time we got some answers. Not all of them, of course, but at least what's up with Sam, not why he is now up and kicking, not why's Samuel there, just what's going on with him because it's killing me now.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Loved it. My favorite episode of season 6 so far. Nice mix of comedy and drama.
Although I was a bit disappointed that they didn't have more vampire references. The twilight spoof was super-funny but I wish they had used a few more references about True Blood, TVD or Buffy.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I think his whole posture change is to show that Sam isn't quite right. There is something different about the boy that we have always loved. That shift shows us that he is different.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Well, that wasn't what I was expecting. The Twihard (I missed the True Blood poking but I'll likely see it when I rewatch) jokes were pretty isolated. From the talk about the ep I was expecting it to flow through the ep and for the whole ep to be funny. Maybe that's why I'm a little...off kilter here.

The really big moment in the ep was Sam letting Dean get turned. I did NOT expect that. No wonder Dean's comment in the trailer is that that's not his brother.

Dean kicked pattootie in the vampire's lair. Go dude!

I felt like the scene with Lisa wasn't as strong as it could have been. Seriously. You're certain you'll be dead by morning and you can't tell her how you feel? Thank you? In a sense that is pure Dean. But even given that...I just expected a stronger scene. (Lisa: "Dean, next time you need to tell me good by because you think you're going to die...use the phone!")

I hope they do NOT get rid of Lisa. I will be extremely annoyed if this story isn't one of them working out how they function as a family in this world where she raises her kid and he hunts monsters. If this is all about taking half a season to write Lisa out I will be upset.

Not sure how effective an army unit Boris was putting together. All his little vampires were pretty useless. Dean didn't even raise a sweat.

Why did the Alpha Vampire stop Brois before he killed Dean? (I mean other than you can't kill Dean cause he's a lead.) That was such a cheat on the writers part. That should have been round one of a good fight scene. I got no problem with the psychic shut down for a message coming in....(that is going to really make it difficult for the Alpha to issue orders during a battle. Especially if the enemy doesn't have cause to black out too.)

I didn't hate the ep. It wasn't the laugh fest I was expecting. I have to watch it again.

Edit: Wow. I didn't think I had anything to say then I hit post. Guess I did have an opinion. :-)

  54. Me Too , Actually I Am Liking That They Mock Them
    It's So Freaking Funny

    ReplyDelete
  55. Well, Sam betrayed Dean tonight. So, Samuel and the Campbell clan are probably not too far behind.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Whoa...gotta agree with Kyelinn, I think that's a bit extreme, and I doubt the show runners would take it that far: for one thing, I doubt it would be a popular move with the fans, and they are what keeps the show running (in a figurative rather than a literal sense).

    ReplyDelete
  57. I actually came and read this thread before I watched the ep, so I was on high-alert for any dodgy acting in that scene, and I actually thought Jared played it really well. But I guess everyone interprets it differently anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Oh Sam, you are breakin' my heart. Sera Gamble, fix him! On the whole, I enjoyed this episode, though not as much as WAB. I'm now less sure about the evility of Sam senior, but we shall see. I still don't trust him outright, that's for sure. As for Sam junior...well, the plot thickens! Hopefully we'll find out what the hell is going on with him soon, and I'm hoping we'll get a big clue in the next episode, 'You Can't Handle the Truth', which I cannot wait for! Finally, despite the fact that I knew it couldn't last, I for one am very sorry to see Dean and Lisa's relationship start to head down the crapper. Obviously it was never going to last long term, but I was hoping that Dean might get to keep the happy, 'normal' side of his life for just a little bit longer. Anyway...roll on next Friday!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Lisa is supposed to be in next weeks episode, a phone call I believe is what Cindy Sampson said. My guess is that Lisa finally puts her son first and ends it with Dean, or at least that's what I'm hoping. The storyline i completely uninteresting to me and there are far more important things going on this season then answering the completely pointless question 'can Dean have a family and be a hunter?' I think we can conclude that no he cant, not when they're civilians anyway. I'm glad this episode gave Lisa and Dean a much needed reality check and hopefully the spoiler of Lisa and Ben not being around for much more this season (after their no show in episode 4-the spoiler being released just before it) is true. I just don't think they add anything to the supernatural story. Besides Sera Gambe said they'd be in the beginning of the season and we would see Dean shed his normal life, I think it's safe t say normal is officially out the window?! Anyway I think the phone call in the next episode should provide closure for that particular arc.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I don't think this'll be the last we see of them but it's gonna be a while until we do see them again =/

And well, Lisa is the first female to have a generally positive reception to the show. That's kinda freakin' huge and I'm hoping Sera will play with her more. Lisa's so likable, taking almost everything in stride or at least just wanting to know wtf is going on. She's a good Hunter's Wife. Well, girlfriend. Dean definitely can't pop a question like that for a looooooong while.

  61. I also don't think it'll work on Cas but he's an angel. I thought they couldn't lie anyway?

    ReplyDelete
  62. Exactly O.o I haven't heard him asking about Dean this season either...
Me too. It's making me nuts but also strangely excited. It's like a detective story.
But every story has its end. And I feel like Sherlock Holmes with no clue.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I was expecting more Buffy than True Blood, if only because a few of the writers on Supernatural used to be on BTVS. But her room was just too funny ^^

    ReplyDelete
  64. I don't know what everyone else thinks, but I loved this episode. :D I thought all the Twilight stuff was so funny, I mean.. Kristen and Robert - seriously?! xD LOVED it!
And when Dean turned into a vampire--WHAT THE HELL SAM?! I really wanna know what's up with him! I hope he will become more like he used to be in the other seasons in season 7! I mean.. he can't stay like this forever? :'(
When he just stood there I was just like "WHAT THE HELL! WHAT THE HELL!" and when that little smile came, I got so PISSED OFF, I just wanted to punch him in the face! I'm just glad Dean saw Sam "smile", so now he REALLY knows something is wrong with him. Can't wait for the upcoming episodes!

  65. Hi Nicol, He has asked him if he was Ok a few times in the last 5 episode's but it comes across Fake so therefore forgettable xxx

    ReplyDelete
  66. Hi, LOL, Yeah a little FRUSTRATED but always in a good way. I wrote my review of the episode very soon after watchin the episode. I should really wait in future LOL

I read my posts back and i really come across as a Dean girl, but i just want to clear up something. I'm not , it's just he's the only one i'm relating to this season. Sam has gone so far off the reservation in 5 episodes that i dread what he's going to do next LOL

I love BOTH brothers and i don't get the Sam girl's thing and the Dean girl's. Supernatural is Sam and Dean , right from the start. We may be getting it from Dean's perspective but Sam is just as important.

Supernatural is "we keep each other human" against the world. That's what drew most of us to the show, and that's what keeps me watching.

I have a split personality with this show, I'm loving the intrigue and the head melting i'm getting. It makes it exciting and pushes it forward for me, so can't complain, but at the same time i just want "we keep each other human" against the world ( You just can't please me LOL)

I rant about Sam a lot but it's temporary, i love him really :)
I'd do the same with Dean or anyone else, if they are acting like a B**tard LOL

Hey at least i care, right :)

There is too many theories floating around at the mo so i am totally confused but i can't keep my mouth shut and have to give my imput ARGHH.... TELL ME ALREADY LOL

I'm sticking with the SOUL JACKED theory and i'm not changing my mind, even though i'll want to about 10 MILLION times throughout the season.

Yeah JILLYANNE I really don't want Sam to be a sociopath either, but Soul knapped, SCREAMS no empathy, SCREAMS SOCIOPATH, Also please Whine, I like your whining LOL <3

So in conclusion NOT MENTAL, LMFAO <3 <3

    ReplyDelete
  67. Course they can lie lol. Have you watch season 5 hahaha.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Kneel before jillyanne!!!!

No, you have no reason to be afraid - the only ones who need to worry are Sera & Co. However, unlike a few of those who've commented here and on the 'What is up with Sam?' poll and the recap - I have complete faith in Sera and her crew (don't you DARE let me down Sera).

Yeah, this episode has definitely been a turning point for me too. That's why I feel like I'm done theorising. Enough is enough, we need ANSWERS or at the very least, substantial clues.
No other TV show does this to me - I love it!

    ReplyDelete
  69. BWAH! Now I'm a little scared of you. :-P However, I may go off the deep end Friday too if there is no important "truth" in this truth episode. If they cope out and tell us something we already know or tell us something insignificant, I cannot be held responsible for my own reaction. Fair warning, Sera. I do like how this season went from entertaining but not as Important as the Apocalypse to tear-your-hair-out frustration and seat edge anticipation in one episode.

  70. agree so much with you. You were talking about the paced before and I thought what mess this episode up a little was the ... first 5-10 min. Yes it was hilarious but it could have been shorter (kristen and rob... we got it pretty quickly). and then we could have a little more of Dean Vamp haha, that was deal with way to fast.

PS: I still loved it :D

    ReplyDelete
  71. Yeah well after reading what Dahne1 said I'm kinda liking it now. aahah. Got to rewatch all the episodes to chek if it works. Need to pay attention to the phone call with grand pa... ( if you are wondering what im talking about just go 2 comments down :D)

    ReplyDelete
  72. the 1st 20 min had me cracking up, the rest was ok, and wtf is going on with Sam, can't wait til we find out what. When Dean saw that Sam actually watched instead of helping him, i was like damn, Dean's def. hurt now. I'm so anxious to see how Dean confronts him about that. Other than that, it was cool, but I really missed Castiel.

    ReplyDelete
  73. I liked Jareds acting or maybe I was just way to happy that Dean noticed the smirk. He acts like he has little humanity delightfully well.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Yeah, it definitely delivered the laughs at Twilight and True Blood, and Dean was pretty good as a vampire, but the whole episode ended way too rapidly. I think it was a little awkwardly paced. They didn't QUITE mesh the MOTW with the plot the right way, but they tried lol

Did anyone else get this vibe that the whole episode was like...all over the place? Sam's WAY too awkward during the scene where mister jewfro bled on Dean. (like the acting was just awful, Jared. You should be ashamed!) and then the acid trip Dean went through? and Dean's not that great-looking Vampire teeth? The room full of vamps just getting loosed on Dean? It just didn't quite make sense lol

EDIT: I would like to take this time to say that I did actually write a (rushed) recap of "Weekend at Bobby's" but it's been slated to show up tomorrow probably, so it'll be outdated, but this is my first post on Spoilertv and would love your input on what I believe to be an excellent episode! :)

    ReplyDelete
  75. It was.... good. I wouldn't call it amazing, and it definately wasn't better than WAB. But overall I liked it. The mystery with Sam is deepining.

Also, Dean taking out the nest was awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Loved the episode but the vampire mocking could have been spread more evenly, not just Twilight.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Wow, you didn't think they brought the vamp mocking to the level you were hoping?
If anything I thought maybe they went a little overboard with it lol...I mean they devoted the first 8 minutes to a Rob-Kristen scene packed with every line from the Twihard "saga" that they could have...I mean, they even looked like Kstew and Robert Pattinson...even when I thought they were finished with the funny part, Dean called himself Pattinson! I definitely think they took it to the level it was needed.

EDIT: I actually think they invested so much time into making fun of Twi/VD/True Blood that the Vamp-Dean storyline was rushed and really didn't get the impact that I was hoping for...

    ReplyDelete
  78. Hey you know, I never thought you were mental - mainly because mostly our thoughts seem to coincide so that would probably mean I was too. Which I'm not. At least I don't think so Maybe I am and just don't know it?

Anyhow, I feel the same - Supernatural IS Sam and Dean against - well...... heaven, hell, the world, and pretty much everything else. Don't really get the Samgirl, Deangirl thing either, but don't want to knock anyone who does have a preference.

And okay I can keep whining if you really want me to - it's something I'm very good at ;)

    ReplyDelete
  79. If anyone can fix Sam it's Dean. He'll never give up on his baby bro - even after "you walk out that door don't you ever come back" - he still couldn't let him go.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Got it. Love to. Very excited. I'll keep checking my e-mail tonight. Burn Notice is my second favorite show.

  82. aww, that little "Sammy" from Dean. The most heartbreaking thing to hear in the whole entire world... well, in the SPN world at least :P I would like them to go deeper this way - make Dean once again "watch out for Sammy" - find out what is wrong and help him fix it. I really feel that Sam needs Dean now more than ever.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Dahne. Just checking that you got my email. Speak to you later.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I think she meant that he saw it in that reverse-vision thing where they recapped the whole episode in under 2 minutes.

    ReplyDelete
  85. "What's so special about this Bella girl? Edward is so whipped."

"and how come you don't sparkle?"
"Because I live in the real world where vampires burn in the sun."

Gotta hand it to TVD. Damon skewers Edward far more than SPN did this episode.

  86. Cas is in You Can't Handle The Truth - this week!

    ReplyDelete
  87. Well, nevermind. Maybe I just saw something different.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I agree - it's Sam's acting that bad - not Jared's. The way he moves IS different - it's just one of the small clues as to HOW different this Sam is to the one we know. Just a small detail that yet again proves the quality of the acting on this show. (Not just Jared - all the actors)

    ReplyDelete
  89. OK, I've FINALLY found some time to watch it... and I loved it!!! I mean, I knew I would as soon as I found out there will be Twilight mocking and vampire Dean in it - and it didn't disappoint me. It was the best episode of the season, the good old Supernatural at last.

Only... nothing is good old anymore. Which I love! There are mysteries again finally, yay!! we haven't had any since like season 4. So, the things I loved about this episode:
    - the beginning - wow, everything just like Twilight. Kristen and Robert :P paper cut lol seventeen, really? lol that was just perfect
    - that old vampire guy turning Dean into one just because he was pretty - good to know what matters ;)
    - all the pop culture references :P
    - Dean the vampire - I know SPN vampires aren't supposed to be hot, but then again, Jensen IS hot and when they make him play evil, he gets even hotter; and then it had that old tragic Dean feeling about it. Perhaps I'm awful but I love watching Dean suffer... I mean, it breaks my heart, but I still love it lol and then him watching Lisa sleep after his comment about it from the beginning of the episode :P
    - Sam - yes, I like the twisted Sam's behaviour, because it makes it all mysterious and intriguing. I guess I'm so ok with this, cause I'm more of a Dean girl. I love Sammy, but I also love that Lucifer looks on his face this season. damn, Jared is a hell of an actor, he knows how to play demonic - cannot wait to find out the truth
    - the nest - great atmosphere created
    - those visions Dean had - have no idea what they were, but very Ring-like. Creepy and therefore amazing!!
    - another Alpha thing to the storyline - another mystery to be solved!!

but I must say, I was really rooting for Dean keeping his family. I just love the way he cares for them, and I wanted him to have that shred of a normal life. Now I'm pretty sure it is over, and my heart breaks for Dean again - for the milionth time in the series.

Sam - of course it's a "what the hell?!" - it really was shocking to see him watch it with that little smile on his face. And to know he risked his brother's life to get to know the vampires' plan. This is so not Sammy - of course I hate it, but at the same time, I'm enjoying it. This is different. This is how it's supposed to be - that keeps us wondering, which is great for the show. I want the old Sam back, but for those few episodes, I'm ok with the mystery behind the new evil Sam.

But now I really need to see Cas again. When is the next episode with him in it?

    ReplyDelete
  90. Oh, I see. Again, I didn't notice it, but different things grate on different people, I guess that's why we (general we, not us personally :) ) have different 'favourite' actors. I did give this a lot of thought though, even after I replied, and I got into a discussion with my sister about it, and one theory we came up with was this: it's not Jared who's a bad actor, it's Sam. Sam is doing a very, VERY bad job of acting normal, while Jared is doing an excellent job of somebody doing a terrible job (I'm not saying you think otherwise, just giving the theory we came up with). Just some food for thought. :)

  91. I don't think Dean saw Sam allow him to be changed into a vampire. If he did, I think Dean would have confronted him right there.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Which scary people are you talking about? The people in the bar? They were goths, I don't really see the True Blood connection.

    ReplyDelete
  93. I've watched the episode a couple of times now and I don't really saw anything akward about Jared's performance.

    ReplyDelete
  94. The absurdly over-the-top scary people in the bar, mainly.
Vampire Diaries had 1 reference that I could see: just a little crow sitting "Kristen's" shelf.

    ReplyDelete
  95. I think they were expecting that a bulk of us "dislike" twilight.
I effing hate that series and ate up every jab at the "saga" that Supernatural stuck it with.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Yeah, there was that crow that was in the girl's bedroom that looked like Damon's Crow. The scary people+the bar they were in was a poke at True Blood, and everything else was Twilight. lol

    ReplyDelete
  97. Ok let me re-wire my statement: I think Jared is actually better than ever this season, especially in this episode. It was just the awful way he did the half-hearted run-stop-run-pull out the knife stunt...I blame it on his moose-like tendencies. Maybe he just walks awkwardly, but that was what I was talking about.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Sorry, but I'm not buying that.
His posture is just awkward, and it has been for a long time.

    ReplyDelete
  99. I'm sorry but I thought it was ridiculously hilarious. "I CAN MAKE MY OWN CHOICES--I'm 17!!!" xD

    ReplyDelete
  100. I read somewhere that the bit where the vampires stole blood from the blood bank truck is actually the way Damon Salvatore in TVD feeds. So that's another TVD reference :P

    ReplyDelete
  101. thanks, good to know, yay!!

    ReplyDelete
  102. Hi Mia494, Yeah... when Dean uses that endearment, It makes me melt, cause i hear "i'm your big bro and i love you" when he says it and i also think it symbolises the bond they have, along with Dean's amulet (which i pray to see again, BAD Dean... throwing it in the bin like that. You picked it up Sammy.. i know ya did) :)

MHO - I don't get the whole "The bond is broken... they'll never be like that again" stuff that other's say. The way i see it, Everything that they have done, for better or worse, has been, because of each other and for each other. <3,

I love the relationship that they share. They are so twisted up and co- dependant on each other. They have the ability to make each other so happy, and at the same time, so miserable. In real life i'd be screaming TOXIC... GET AWAY FROM EACH OTHER... NOT HEALTHY BLAH, BLAH, BLAH but i don't know, It seems to work for me, within the show and it's really something to watch.

They are NON GAY SOULMATES (thank you Kripke ) <3 <3

As for Dean - No matter the whole "Equals" debacle. he'll always be Sammy's big bro, and will always look out for, and protect him.

If Sam was to knife Dean tomorrow and say he hates him, (the way he is at the mo... not too far of a reach LOL ) For all Dean's heat of the moment stuff, He'd never give up on him (cmon... Sam became Lucifer and Dean still ran out to the battle field to be with him and make sure he knew that he wasn't alone, Awww... so sweet. <3 <3 ) Also, he's not built that way.

As for Sam - He goes so far off the reservation when Dean's not around, That it's scary, and sad to watch. For all his "Dean i wanna be independent" He needs his brother just as much. They keep each other human <3 <3

So in Conclusion... I LOVE THIS SHOW :)
