It was a terrific episode. Touching and honest came to my mind during it... For me it wasn't offensive, it was actually cool how they emphased that everybody has the right to believe in different things or not to believe at all. Which I totally understand why Kurt is not a believer. Chris was amazing, but the others handled their role excellentas well . So I loved it:))
Don't you dare click on the awfulbutton! It was such an incredible episode. I'm listening Chris's song over and over and over again, love his voice!! Mercedes did amazing jobs (like always) and Puck's song was so cute!! 11/10
this episode and chris colfer deserve an award of some type. i think they handled the issues over religion well. i disagree that they were making fun of god and i dont think they treated atheists as freaks. all they were doing were touching on issues of religion in everyday life and how people in the real world deal wih it whether they are religious or not.
Absolutely amazing. Definitely one of my favourite episodes. I love how it was more serious, it proves that it has depth and isn't just humour and singing.
I related so well to Kurt's drama.... Made me cry like a baby. Everything did.
Treating Atheists as freaks that need to be saved is very patronizing. I definitely lost a little respect for Glee tonight. Oh well, at least they dealt with Homosexuality with some class. All I have to say is thank goodness Kurt didn't turn into a "believer" at the end. I would have turned off the television instantly, and never would have watched Glee again.
Im an atheist and while religion is in no way a sensitive issue for me personally, I do get a little uncomfortable when TV shows or movies speak to loudly on the issue, or try to be too propagandistic. I was nervous about this episode being alienating, but I was extremely impressed by how well everything was handled, especially the decision to still be Glee and have a lot of faith related humor. I don't like it when religion is mocked but i didn't think it was here. i hate it even more when atheists are turned into believers, so Im glad Kurt seemed to stick with his stance on no god. I liked it more though when he went to church with Mercedes and found a way to appreciate it even without converting.
I didn't like it. I felt like at times they were making fun of God and me being a Christian didn't agree with that. Definitely not one of my favorites.
Usually Sue is a fountain of useless ignorant garbage but tonight she hit the nail on the head. Telling someone what they should or shouldn't believe is a real tragedy.
Heartbreaking, intense, beautiful. I'm still crying. It hit a nerve because I was in a very similar situation to Kurt's with my dad and friends/family. Chris Colfer was amazing tonight. It would have been even better had Quinn sung a solo. She's the poster child for 'faith' yet she was overlooked again. Gotta work on that, writers.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteThis has just replaced the Britney episode as the worst episode of Glee ever. =\
