  3. LOTS of Observer subtext in Mylo's character. The writers really know how to give subtle, satisfying explanations to the mysteries weaved throughout the show.

This episode and last season's "White Tulip" really stand out as top notch story-telling. Very deep and thought-provoking.

Oh, and the tank's coming back!

  5. I have officially converted my boyfriend into watching Fringe after this episode. He'd only seen one episode before this, "Ghost Network" and wasn't all that interested, but after this episode he's demanding to know what happens. Of course one can only speculate at this point, but I have to say this episode wasn't awesome, it was EPIC! Clearly this show is going strong and more people need to watch it.

  6. Loved it.

I had thought he was becoming an Observer at one point. Some sort of testing or morphing or something. With the Speech Guessing bit, like the Observer did to Peter in 'The Arrival.'

  7. O.O I was almost breathless after that episode. The visions, and the whole storyline, and the subtleties, the action, the dialogue, the reflection back to the very first episode of the series, and the last scene where Anna Torv just slipped from one Olivia into another visibly just from a difference in the way she was looking around and speaking...

And I am proud of myself for seeing last week's hint "The Pen is mightier"-- I guess we know why now. I missed next week's hint and didn't see the observer, but there was so much to this episode underneath the "procedural" plot that just drives me crazy! How can these writers tie so much together so effortlessly? :)

  8. Wow I'm still speechless after that episode. I love that the Fringe team hadn't seen a ballpoint pen since preschool.

  9. I loved it. I love that Charlie is now back in action full time. Just a theory, but I really hope Charlie crosses back over with Olivia to the real world eventually. It could happen :)

That was one well written episode! It was like Fringe Matrix seeing what was going on in that guys head. I should throw a pen out my window tonight and see if I win the lottery tomorrow.

  10. Walternate is the creepiest character on TV since Ben Linus!

  11. My parents watched the episode with me, having never seen the show before. It IS possible to convert people and have them understand with a few explanatory pointers. They're already into it and I haven't even described half of the story to them yet! The sign of a truly amazing and compelling show. :)
