NBC has shut down production on the low-rated Outlaw that airs Fridays at 10pm, but plans to continue to air it at least for the next few weeks.
Eight episodes of the show have been produced and only three have aired so far leaving five in the can. NBC says it will evaluate Outlaw’s performance over the next few weeks. Barring a miraculous ratings turnaround (it’s last two episodes garnered 1.1 and 1.0 adults 18-49 ratings respectively) it looks like production has shut down for good.
Outlaw is produced by Conan O’Brien’s Conaco.

Good show....
ReplyDeleteI think a title change is in order, the title is quite misleading.....
Thanks!
What these people need to start doing is putting this stuff on DVD and cell it cheaper than they usually do.
ReplyDeleteIf they have a new show that gets canceled after three episodes due to low ratings but have 7 out of the 12 episodes filmed, they need to go ahead and make the back 5 and put it on DVD.
And since it got canceled, they don't need to sell it at the same price as the shows that do make it and end up being popular.
Anyone else agree??
i definitely agree with the whole idea of the DVDs, however i'm thinking production costs would be greater than the eventual income from the dvds, so the networks probably won't do it without any money reaping.
ReplyDeleteI think a change of airing day would be better. Fridays are not all that great for watching tv shows. Now Sundays on the other hand (same day and timeslot as The West Wing), I think it would do exceptionally well.
ReplyDeleteI think Outlaw is a great show thus far. Last NBC show in the same caliber got shutdown prematurely as well. Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. NBC needs to get their heads out of their asses, and give these shows a chance, far longer than just 2-3 episodes.
UGH!!! All the good shows are getting cancelled! I swear people don't know quality TV anymore and Networks need to get smart on strategies. I mean most shows do not do well on Fridays and if you want them to you have to find a way to market better! Or realize that not everyone has a Nilsen box so there can be like 4 million more people watching a show and you wouldn't know or if they are not already they need to be monitoring online views such as with hulu.com and the networks on site! Ugh I'm seriously thinking about doing what other people say, about not bother even spending time investing in a serious because networks just pull them off the air so fast and its pointless to watch!! UGH that's why cable shows are better and usually last longer! DAMN network tv
