According to Karl Sonnenberg, technical advisor, Simon Baker will be directing episode 3.09. He confirmed this via his Twitter feed.

    Yeah. 9th episode, looks like the time for the mid-season Red John episode. Hope it can match up to His Red Right Hand (s02's mid-season Red John episode), which is the best episode of the show till date.

    This must be a Red John episode, I'm guessing. Written by Bruno Heller, sounds like it to me.

    Simon Baker told in an interview after last season that he was to direct an episode this season. I had forgotten about it. Awaiting more details about the episode. :)
