Very disappointing. Little chemistry between the leads, annoying supporting characters, plot "twists" that were obvious well before they happened. Sheesh, Gerald MacRaney was the most interesting part of it!
I actually liked it. I'm hoping that as the series progresses we'll be able to see the two leads act more comfortably around each other; I'm hoping that the reason they have little chemistry is because of the marriage rut their two characters have found themselves in. I think the plotline has a lot of potential.
Is that seriously your argument? Have you even ever been in Spain? Even if they were the only black people in Spain in this episode (which I hadn't noticed), who cares?
Just for you I skimmed through the Spain part and I must admit I only saw one other black person (first scene, when they arrive by car, a black guy or girl on a bike). But regardless of how it is in the tv series, there are a lot of black Spaniards ( I've been there three times - so yes I know). Also, just useful in Africa? What about the USA? And most European country's? They would fit perfectly in at all those places.
I have to agree to you that there where a few lame action cliches, but I feel like the characters can grow in their new role perfectly. Like Sasha mentioned, they are already married, they already have 'the perfect' chemistry.
Why the hell would they spy on their own country? And what are you talking about "most of Europe"? None of the European countries used black slaves, so blacks are scarce/insignificant. They would stick out. Especially in countries like Russia which are traditional enemies in spy movies.
Not to spy on their own country, but on 'bad guys' within their own country (btw I should have written North and South America). That's not correct, we did use black slaves, mainly for colonies, but also here in Europe. Yes black people are a minority here, just like there are a minority of people from all non-EU country's here. But that doesn't mean you don't see them? They don't stick out at all, trust me. The Eastern block of Europe is indeed more 'traditional' (meaning more on them selves and less trusting of outsiders), so indeed not immediately my first choice, but in the big cities?
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteWtf, their chemistry is amazing. Shut up.
ReplyDeleteIt could use more (good) jokes, but I really liked it.
ReplyDeleteAwful. Terrible mess. Abrams, what did you do??
ReplyDeleteI think it was lame. I mean black spies? Those two were the only black people in spain and yet no-one was suspicious. It was especially ridiculous when they went to the bank. Other than that it was a predictable cliché fest.

You saw any others? Black spies only would be useful in black Africa, but there is nothing to spy there. So the premise is crap. Not that other things were good. The story was boring. The action scenes were the usual lame action clichés. The characters were uninteresting.
