On what viewers can expect on this season's Grey's Anatomy:
CL: "The trauma [from last season] manifests itself differently in each character. My character has a complete breakdown. She can't stop thinking and can't sleep. She ends up in the psych ward."
On the love triangle on Grey's:
CL: "There's not much of a love triangle. It becomes a question of who's going to be there for her after her breakdown and you'll see that right away in the first episode."

Alex is the only* main character on the show who hasn't had anything close to a functional relationship. Even his marriage was a disaster. He's due for some stability (and to finally get that chip off his shoulder and grow up) but I agree that Lexie isn't the answer.

I was always rooting for Alex and Izzie! It'll take him a long while to get over her I think. It'll be back to square one now... Maybe Katie could come back and give them closure. More than dropping the divorce papers into it - actual real closure because they deserve it. And I totally agree, even though you can see from my previous comments I am obsessed with the former man-whore that is Mark Sloan and a female he refers to as Little Grey. Lexie knew what she was getting into with Alex and who knows why she chose to 'play' Izzie while Alex had his moment but they're done! They were never really a couple. They never really had a chance.
ReplyDeleteDidn't care enough for her to choose her over his daughter, though. Alex did confess his love for her, before the shooting rampage.

ReplyDeleteI think you're being too harsh on Alex, he is far from a self-centred guy, really. He's actually a very caring man on the inside, it's just hard to get to that inside. He never treated Lexie like his beloved one, because she was not and she knew that. She also knew that deep inside, she never loved him either. She belongs with Mark, and I'm sure Mark will be there for her, while Alex probably will act like an ass, but that's only because the guy is still suffering from losing Izzie. For once he showed his soft side and opened his heart and it ended up in pain and tears for him. So just give the guy a break, he's amazing, yet very lonely and probably lost. But I still love him.
ReplyDeleteAt the end of the day Mark's always wanted to be a father. What Addison did to him, still haunts him and I think when Sloane showed up this was his chance. I'm not justifying what Mark did to Lexie because I was furious with him for never even thinking about asking her and I still don't see how Lexie sleeping with Alex and him sleeping with Addison in LA is different - but anyway, beside my point! Lexie is the love of Mark's life, she put him back together... and to be honest, the Sloane thing was a blip! When she was finding it hard to pull the plug on the shooters wife, she asked him 'how do you not care' and he even said 'i'm still trying'. Plus when the shooter went all gun crazy, he protected her. Mark covered her on the floor and dragged her into the nearest elevator. He cares! Alex could not give a damn about her, maybe in his own way but with Mark, it's love. Just my opinion :D
ReplyDeleteI think it's Mark too. He confessed his love to her and was clearly distressed over her panic in the finale. From other spoilers it seems that Alex is back to being a jerk to her so I don't see them sticking.
ReplyDeleteAlex doesn't like anyone but himself, it was very hard to make me buy he fell in love with Izzie. I'm not a big fan of his character. He treats Lexie like a skank who's just sleeping with him. Mark, on the other hand, really cares about her and didn't stop loving her just because his family came in the way = )
