I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt that way. Just looking at Debra during her scenes with Dexter were hard enough. It was agony watching her stare at Dexter for the whole hour struggling so hard just to catch a glimpse of what he was feeling. Everything she said to him was just an endless attempt to get him to show any sort of emotion and his lack of response was just killing her.
ReplyDeleteI know EXACTLY what you are talking about! I could barely handle last night's episode. So, SO tragic, dark, intense, etc. It had me tore up in so many ways. Then, at the end when he finally realized that he loved Rita just like everyone else...well, the damn levee broke.
ReplyDeleteGood for Dexter. There were more than a few people saying that the show should have wrapped it up already but, going by last night's numbers, most viewers obviously don't agree.
ReplyDeleteIt's undoubtedly a great show but, man, last night's premiere was brutal. Not in a bad way, it was just really difficult to watch Dexter, Debra, and the kids go through all of that. I think I was probably cringing through most of the episode.
The scene where Dexter told his in-laws and his kids that Rita had died while wearing Mickey Mouse ears and actually said "I'm sorry for your loss" was absolutely excruciating to watch.
