Parenthood - Jasmine and Jabbar Series Regulars

16 Jul 2010

'Parenthood' promotes Jasmine and Jabbar.

It looks like Crosby’s Little Family Unit That Could will remain in tact next season on Parenthood.

Sources confirm to me exclusively that Joy Bryant and Tyree Brown — who play Dax Shepard’s onscreen girlfriend Jasmine and son Jabbar respectively — have been upgraded to full-fledged series regulars.

Bryant’s promotion actually kicked in last spring, while Brown’s deal was just finalized yesterday.

In the season 1 finale, Crosby impulsively followed Jasmine and Jabbar to New York. It’s probably safe to assume that their East Coast adventure will hit a snag and they’ll all end up moving back to the Bay Area. But I could be wrong. Don’t think I am.

Thoughts? Excited Jasmine and Jabbar are sticking around?

  1. jabbar is sooooo cute. i <3 this show. the dialog is perfect. i think the name scares many people away as a mushy family drama, but i'd classify it as a comedy. it makes me laugh so hard!

  2. I was glad to see Jabbar and Jasmine continue in season one. I love Parenthood because it depicts everyday struggles that many families face and the theme of family sticking together prevails. I was hooked by the middle of the first season and I hadn't realized that the second season was already in action. I've been catching up on season 2 while testing DISHonline.com for my employer, DISH Network. I'm happy because the content was free and I was able to set my DVR via the website so I won't miss the rest of season 2. Despite the drama, I really hope both Jasmine and Crosby make it through!
