NCIS: Los Angeles - Eric Christian Olsen Promoted To Series Regular

Thanks to Balian for the heads up.

Eric Christian Olsen—who recurred on NCIS: LA last season as LAPD liaison Marty Deeks—has been promoted to a full-fledged series regular, CBS confirms.

“We are thrilled to have Eric join the cast,” said executive producer Shane Brennan in a statement. “He has already proved himself to be a great asset and invaluable member of the team, and Eric’s fans will be delighted to see what we have in store for him.”
NCIS: LA‘s second season kicks off with a two-hour episode on Sept. 21.

    Not interested in seeing Deeks added as a regular . He is really not needed on the show !

    I have to admit that I was not impressed with Olsen's character during the first season. I'll give him a little more time now that he's been promoted to full-time.

    His gig on Community is like over, he can come back for like a episode or so. But he is not that needed on Community. He was never a really important character on the show anyway. Good to see him fulltime on NCIS: LA in the fall, was afraid he was poof and never was going to be on the show again.
