Covert Affairs - Episode 1.01 - Pilot - Advance Review

24 Jun 2010

USA Network has done it again. Covert Affairs is a new show from the producers of "Mr. & Mrs Smith" and The 'Bourne' Trilogy. It stars Piper Perabo as a CIA trainee who gets thrown into a mission in the middle of her training. Tim Matheson of Animal House fame, who is no stranger to USA Network shows having appeared in and directed Burn Notice; as well as having directed several episodes of Psych, directs this Pilot brilliantly. With Anne Dudek in a supporting role (she was in the Pilot episode of Psych, and had a recurring role in House, which is syndicated on USA) and Sendhil Ramamurthy joining the cast later (Heroes, and a guest appearance in Psych) Covert Affairs keeps it all in the family.

It has an original plot, wonderful actors, a great supporting cast, and an intriguing story that will carry the show throughout the season. Take notes Network TV, this is how it should be done.

The premiere of Covert Affairs airs on Tuesday, July 13th at 10/9C on USA Network.

  2. How did you even get to watch this? So lucky - I'm oddly excited about this show for someone who never gets excited about Summer TV.
