So, thankyou to everyone who has joined our game/competition over the past few weeks and has got involved here on Spoiler TV.
If you haven't entered yet, find the details here: http://www.spoilertv.com/2010/06/spoilertv-best-show-ever-predict.html
Also, anyone who hasn't completed the brackets yet, you must do so before the Tomorrow or you will not be able too.
Also thanks to everyone who sent in a review for the show, however sadly, I haven't had short reviews for over half of the shows we have in our final 64 so it doesn't look like I will be able to include those for many of the shows. However, as thanks to the people who have sent reviews, I will try to get as many as possible into the post for the main competition. It could give a show an advantage from voters who may not have seen either show. :P
If you want to write a short 1 paragraph review, I need more reviews from all the shows barring:
(however you can review these still, the more i have the merrier)

Legend of the Seeker (I have about 40 of these, so apologies if I can't use them all)
Fringe
NCIS
Supernatural
Doctor Who
Alias
Breaking Bad
Bones

I still have no LOST reviews :P
Just stick them in the Comments, maybe people didn't want to email me.

Hope you all get involved, I'm looking forward to the competition. This is the last you will hear from me before the first Posts on Monday.
Any questions about the competition, stick in the comments here too! I'll try and answer before Monday

Let the Battle commence
Adam

  1. So you got reviews for Legend of the Seeker, NCIS, Supernatural, Doctor Who, Alias, Breaking Bad and Bones?
Do you still need one for Stargate, Gilmore Girls and Babylon 5?

  3. I think that Desperate Housewives should win because it has that perfect mix of drama and comedy. You also have some mystery and a little bit of action. It will make you cry and laugh. It is also in the suburb with all of this odd stuff happening. It is still going strong with 7 seasons so far. That is why Desperate Housewives should win!

  4. LOST is the best. And i am surprised HEROES is not included.

  5. GILMORE GIRLS
Gilmore girls is the perfect combination of drama with comedy. It makes you cry, laugh, angry or happy. It simply makes you feel for their characters. In other shows, I might have one or two favorites, in Gilmore Girls it's almost impossible for me to name a character that I don't love for just being part of the show.

I love Paris Geller for being her wonderful mean self who falls in love and becomes friends with Rory.
I love Mrs Kim for being religious, annoying, scary but in the end a loving mother who supports her daughter.
I love Lane for having an endless amount of awesome music hidden beneath the floorboards, struggeling to find her own voice but always trying not to hurt her mother.
I love Lorelai for being her witty self, always fighting to do things her way and never chosing the easy way out.
I love Rory for growing up into a woman with strengs and flaws.
I love Christopher for never abandonding his daughter, no matter what is going on between him and Lorelai.
I love Luke for being grumpy, loving and giving everything for the people he loves.
I love Sookie, Lorelai's parents, Kirk, Babbette, Ms Patty, Tyler....

Gilmore Girls lives of its small town characters who are quirky, strange, annoying and endearingly charming. You can't help yourself but start caring about them. Besides being funny the show als manages to show how important family is for their characters. No matter if it's a single mother, a single father, young parents, mother and father, grandparents, it's about how to live together as a family. The struggles, them being annoying and frustrating but in the end it's all worth it because you love your family. Something you rarely see in Gilmore Girls is somebody giving up easily on a loved one. If I had to sum up Gilmore Girls in three words it would be: family, love and having fun.

  6. I wrote one for Babylon as well! ;D
    BABYLON 5
What makes me a fan of a certain show compared to only an entertained part of the audience are characters. Many critics love not taking sci-fi shows seriously because they think these shows have very little to do with real life. It's not about real people but spaceships and aliens. They couldn't be more wrong.

One of the best examples to portray the relationships, politics and belief systems of different people is Babylon 5. Due to the show's sci-fi nature people are translated into different alien races who try living together peacefully on a space station.

On of the two most important characters are Londo Mollari - a Centauri and G'Kar - a Narn.
Of course, you can view the show from the human point of view but the more interesting part to me is to see the world from Londo and G'Kar's eyes.
Londo Mollari is best described by looking ridiculous. His hair looks like a peacook tail. He belongs to the Centauri race, is drunk, tells bad jokes and constantly gets into arguments with G'Kar but that's only the surface. Later on, we learn that he's extremely devoted to his people and would do anything for their survival. He's an honorable man that is tormented by his decisions and their consequences.
G'Kar looks like a brown zebra crossed with a lizard. He belongs to the Narn race and is in conflict with the Centauri race. Therefore, it's no surprise that at the beginning him and Londo don't get along at all. They're enemies based on their racial identity and their conflict with each other. The more beautiful it is to see how over the years these two start to develop respect and realize that in the end they share more with each other than they want to admit. They become very good friends.
Although the special effects have become outdated, the characters of Babylon 5 are still as impressive as ever.

  7. I hope it's not too late, but I didn't want Chuck to not have a review, so here we go:

Though it's a show that most people have never heard of, Chuck has gained a passionate and well-deserved fanbase. It's devoted fans have brought the nearly cancelled show back for at least 2 extra seasons, something very rare in the all-about-ratings world of TV. It's a true "cult show", and it's obvious why. Described as a comedy, or sometimes dramedy, it can't truly be a part of any one genre. It's the perfect mix of comedy, drama, action, romance, and sci-fi, pulling it off in a way that not many shows can. The three-dimensional characters don't fit into stereotypes, and they and the show as a whole have undergone necessary changes in the last 3 seasons that will keep the show interesting for years to come. Maybe you already are a Chuck fan, but maybe you've never heard of it or have but think you won't like it. I guarantee that it's highly addicting, and if you give it a try you will most likely find it to be very entertaining and some of the best hours of your life.

  8. The West Wing (1999-2006):
Garnering 27 Emmys over the course of its seven season run, the West Wing stands as one of the most critically acclaimed shows ever made, and it’s not hard to see why. Forgoing the angst, vast conspiracies, and flashy action sequences generally found on TV, the West Wing was one of those rare shows that believed being smart and engaging was enough to make a series not just passably entertaining but exceptionally so. Focusing on the everyday lives of the White House staff serving under newly elected president Josiah Bartlet, writer Aaron Sorkin brought a wit and intelligence to the screen that in many ways has yet to be matched, somehow made even better by the show’s all-star ensemble cast featuring the likes of Bradely Whitford, Allison Janney, Richard Schiff, and an unforgettable Martin Sheen, among others. Inspiring, captivating, and even educational, the West Wing was drama at its best, making even the most mundane aspects of the American political tradition both fun to watch and something to be proud of. The standard by which any good series should be measured, the West Wing is a no-brainer for one of the greatest, if not itself the best, shows ever to air on television.
